Josua yn cael ei benodi'n olynydd i Moses
(Numeri 27:12-23) 1Dyma Moses yn annerch pobl Israel i gyd eto, 2a dweud wrthyn nhw, “Dw i'n gant dau ddeg, a ddim yn gallu mynd a dod fel roeddwn i. Ac mae'r Arglwydd wedi dweud wrtho i na fydda i'n croesi'r afon Iorddonen. a 3Ond bydd yr Arglwydd eich Duw yn mynd drosodd o'ch blaen chi. Bydd e'n dinistrio'r cenhedloedd ac yn cymryd eu tir oddi arnyn nhw. Mae e wedi dweud mai Josua fydd yn eich arwain chi. 4Bydd yr Arglwydd yn eu dinistrio nhw a'u gwlad, fel y gwnaeth e i Sihon ac Og, b brenhinoedd yr Amoriaid. 5Bydd e'n rhoi'r gallu i chi eu concro nhw, ond rhaid i chi wedyn wneud yn union fel dw i wedi gorchymyn i chi. 6Byddwch yn gryf a dewr! Peidiwch bod ag ofn, a peidiwch panicio. Mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw yn mynd gyda chi. Fydd e byth yn eich siomi chi, nac yn troi ei gefn arnoch chi.” 7Yna dyma Moses yn galw Josua ato o flaen pobl Israel, a dweud wrtho, “Bydd yn gryf a dewr! Ti'n mynd gyda'r bobl yma i'r wlad wnaeth yr Arglwydd ei addo i'w hynafiaid nhw. Ti fydd yn eu galluogi nhw i gymryd y tir. 8Ond mae'r Arglwydd ei hun yn mynd o'ch blaen chi. Bydd e gyda chi; fydd e byth yn eich siomi chi, nac yn troi ei gefn arnoch chi. Peidiwch bod ag ofn na panicio.”Darllen y Gyfraith bob saith mlynedd
9Yna dyma Moses yn ysgrifennu'r cyfarwyddiadau yma, a'u rhoi nhw i'r offeiriaid o lwyth Lefi, sy'n cario Arch ymrwymiad yr Arglwydd, ac i arweinwyr Israel i gyd. 10A dyma fe'n gorchymyn iddyn nhw, “Pob saith mlynedd, ar Ŵyl y Pebyll, pan mae dyledion yn cael eu canslo, 11a pobl Israel i gyd yn dod o flaen yr Arglwydd eich Duw yn y lle mae e wedi ei ddewis, rhaid i chi ddarllen y cyfarwyddiadau yma iddyn nhw. 12Galwch y bobl at ei gilydd – dynion, merched a phlant, a'r mewnfudwyr sy'n byw yn eich pentrefi chi – iddyn nhw eu clywed, dysgu dangos parch at yr Arglwydd eich Duw, a gwneud popeth mae'r gyfraith yn ei ddweud. 13Wedyn bydd eu disgynyddion, oedd ddim yn gwybod y gyfraith, yn cael clywed am yr Arglwydd eich Duw, a dysgu ei barchu, tra byddwch chi'n byw yn y wlad dych chi'n croesi dros yr afon Iorddonen i'w meddiannu.”Comisiynu Josua
14Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, “Ti'n mynd i farw cyn bo hir. Galw am Josua, a dos gydag e i sefyll ym mhabell presenoldeb Duw, er mwyn i mi ei gomisiynu e.” Felly dyma Moses a Josua yn gwneud hynny. 15A dyma'r Arglwydd yn ymddangos iddyn nhw mewn colofn o niwl uwch ben drws y babell. 16Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, “Ti'n mynd i farw cyn bo hir, a bydd y bobl yma'n anffyddlon i mi ac yn addoli duwiau'r wlad maen nhw'n mynd i mewn iddi. Byddan nhw'n troi cefn arna i, ac yn torri'r ymrwymiad dw i wedi ei wneud gyda nhw. 17Bydda i'n digio gyda nhw, ac yn troi cefn arnyn nhw, nes byddan nhw wedi eu dinistrio. Bydd lot o drychinebau ac helyntion yn dod arnyn nhw, a byddan nhw'n dweud, ‘Mae'r pethau ofnadwy yma wedi digwydd i ni am fod ein Duw wedi ein gadael ni.’ 18Ond fydda i'n sicr ddim yn eu helpu nhw, am eu bod nhw wedi gwneud cymaint o ddrwg drwy droi i addoli duwiau eraill. 19Felly ysgrifenna eiriau'r gân yma i lawr, a dysga hi i bobl Israel ar y cof. Bydd y gân yma'n dystiolaeth gen i yn erbyn pobl Israel. 20“Ar ôl i mi fynd â nhw i'r wlad wnes i addo ei rhoi i'w hynafiaid – tir ffrwythlon lle mae llaeth a mêl yn llifo – byddan nhw ar ben eu digon. Ond yna byddan nhw'n troi i addoli duwiau eraill, yn dangos dirmyg ata i ac yn torri amodau'r ymrwymiad wnes i. 21Wedyn pan fydd y trychinebau a'r helyntion yn dod arnyn nhw bydd y gân yma yn dystiolaeth yn eu herbyn nhw (Bydd eu disgynyddion yn dal i gofio'r gân.) Dw i'n gwybod yn iawn beth sydd ar eu meddyliau nhw, hyd yn oed cyn i mi fynd â nhw i mewn i'r wlad dw i wedi addo ei rhoi iddyn nhw.” 22Felly dyma Moses yn ysgrifennu'r gân i lawr, ac yn ei dysgu hi i bobl Israel. 23A dyma'r Arglwydd yn comisiynu Josua fab Nwn, “Bydd yn gryf a dewr. Ti sy'n mynd i arwain pobl Israel i'r wlad dw i wedi addo ei rhoi iddyn nhw. Ond bydda i gyda ti.” 24Pan oedd Moses wedi gorffen ysgrifennu'r cyfarwyddiadau yma i gyd mewn sgrôl, 25dyma fe'n rhoi'r gorchymyn yma i'r dynion o lwyth Lefi oedd yn cario Arch ymrwymiad yr Arglwydd: 26“Cymerwch sgrôl y Gyfraith, a'i gosod hi wrth ymyl arch ymrwymiad yr Arglwydd eich Duw. Bydd yna yn dystiolaeth yn eich erbyn chi. 27Dych chi'n bobl benstiff. Dych chi wedi gwrthryfela yn erbyn yr Arglwydd yr holl amser dw i wedi bod gyda chi, felly sut fyddwch chi ar ôl i mi farw? 28Casglwch arweinwyr y llwythau, a'r swyddogion at ei gilydd, i mi ddarllen y cwbl iddyn nhw, a bydda i'n galw y nefoedd a'r ddaear i dystio eu bod nhw'n gwybod beth maen nhw i fod i'w wneud. 29Dw i'n gwybod beth sy'n mynd i ddigwydd. Ar ôl i mi farw byddwch chi'n sbwylio popeth drwy droi cefn ar y ffordd o fyw dw i wedi ei dysgu i chi. Bydd trychineb yn dod arnoch chi yn y dyfodol o ganlyniad i'r holl ddrwg fyddwch chi'n ei wneud yn pryfocio'r Arglwydd i ddigio gyda chi.” 30Yna dyma Moses yn adrodd geiriau'r gân i bobl Israel i gyd, o'i dechrau i'w diwedd:

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
