1 ^aI charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, ^bwho is to judge the living and the dead, and by ^chis appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; ^dreprove, rebuke, and ^eexhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 ^fFor the time is coming when people will not endure ^gsound ^{▼▼Or healthy} teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and ⁱwill turn away from listening to the truth and ^jwander off into myths. 5 As for you, ^kalways be sober-minded, ^lendure suffering, do the work of ^man evangelist, ⁿfulfill your ministry.

6 For ^oI am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my ^pdeparture has come. 7 ^qI have fought the good fight, ^rI have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is ^slaid up for me ^tthe crown of righteousness, which the Lord, ^uthe righteous judge, will award to me on ^vthat day, and not only to me but also to all ^wwho have loved his appearing.
