doctrine.
2Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, csound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 dOlder women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, enot slanderers for slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled, gpure, hworking at home, kind, and isubmissive to their own husbands, jthat the word of God may not be reviled. 6Likewise, urge kthe younger men to be self-controlled. 7Show yourself in all respects to be la model of good works, and in your teaching mshow integrity, ndignity, 8and osound speech that cannot be condemned, pso that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. 9 qBondservants
Or Slaves (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
are to be submissive to their own masters sin everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
10not pilfering, tbut showing all good faith, uso that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

11For vthe grace of God whas appeared, bringing salvation xfor all people, 12training us to renounce ungodliness and yworldly passions, and zto live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in aathe present age, 13 abwaiting for our blessed achope, the adappearing of the glory of our great aeGod and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 afwho gave himself for us to agredeem us from all lawlessness and ahto purify for himself aia people for his own possession who are ajzealous for good works.

15Declare these things; exhort and akrebuke with all authority. alLet no one disregard you.
