‏ Psalms 142

You Are My Refuge

A Maskil
Probably a musical or liturgical term
of David, when he was in bthe cave. A Prayer.

1With my voice I ccry out to the Lord;
with my voice I dplead for mercy to the Lord.
2I epour out my complaint before him;
I tell my trouble before him.
3When my spirit ffaints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have ghidden a trap for me.
4 hLook to the iright and see:
jthere is none who takes notice of me;
kno refuge remains to me;
no one cares for my soul.
5I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my lrefuge,
my mportion in nthe land of the living.”
6 oAttend to my cry,
for pI am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
qfor they are too strong for me!
7 rBring me out of prison,
that I may give thanks to your name!
The righteous will surround me,
for you will sdeal bountifully with me.
