ประชาชนกบฏ
1ในคืนนั้นประชาชนทั้งปวงส่งเสียงร้องไห้กันดังระงม 2ชุมนุมประชากรทั้งหมดบ่นกับโมเสสและอาโรนว่า “เราน่าจะตายตั้งแต่ยังอยู่ที่อียิปต์! หรือไม่ก็ตายในถิ่นกันดารนี้! 3ทำไมองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจึงพาเรามายังดินแดนนี้ เพียงเพื่อให้ตายด้วยคมดาบ? ลูกเมียของเราจะต้องตกเป็นเชลย เราออกจากที่นี่กลับไปอียิปต์ไม่ดีกว่าหรือ?” 4แล้วเขาพูดต่อๆ กันว่า “พวกเราควรจะเลือกผู้นำสักคนและกลับไปอียิปต์กัน”5โมเสสและอาโรนจึงหมอบกราบซบหน้าลงกับพื้นต่อหน้าชุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงที่นั่น 6โยชูวาบุตรนูนและคาเลบบุตรเยฟุนเนห์ซึ่งออกไปสำรวจดินแดนด้วยจึงฉีกเสื้อผ้าของตน 7และกล่าวแก่ชุมนุมประชากรอิสราเอลทั้งปวงว่า “ดินแดนที่เราเข้าไปสำรวจนั้นดีเยี่ยมจริงๆ 8หากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าโปรดปรานพวกเรา พระองค์จะทรงนำเราเข้าไปในดินแดนที่อุดมด้วยน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้ง และจะยกดินแดนนั้นให้แก่เรา 9ขอเพียงแต่เราอย่ากบฏต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเลย ไม่ต้องกลัวผู้คนในดินแดนนั้น เพราะเราจะกลืนกินพวกเขา สิ่งที่พิทักษ์รักษาเขาก็สูญสิ้นไปแล้ว แต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าสถิตกับเรา อย่ากลัวพวกเขาเลย”
10แต่ชุมนุมประชากรทั้งปวงคบคิดกันจะเอาก้อนหินขว้างเขาทั้งสอง ขณะนั้นพระเกียรติสิริขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามาปรากฏที่เต็นท์นัดพบต่อหน้าชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง 11องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “ประชากรเหล่านี้จะสบประมาทเราไปนานเท่าใด? พวกเขาจะไม่ยอมเชื่อถือเราอีกนานเท่าใด? ทั้งๆ ที่เราได้ทำการอัศจรรย์นานัปการในหมู่พวกเขา 12เราจะใช้ภัยพิบัติมาทำลายพวกนั้น แต่เราจะทำให้เจ้าเป็นชนชาติที่ยิ่งใหญ่และแข็งแกร่งกว่าพวกเขา”
13โมเสสกราบทูลองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า “ชาวอียิปต์จะได้ยินเรื่องนี้! เรื่องที่พระองค์ทรงนำประชากรเหล่านี้ออกมาจากหมู่พวกเขาโดยฤทธิ์อำนาจของพระองค์ 14และเขาจะเล่าเรื่องนี้ให้ผู้คนแถบนี้ฟัง ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพวกเขาได้ยินแล้วว่าพระองค์สถิตอยู่กับประชากรเหล่านี้ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพวกเขาได้เห็นพระพักตร์ของพระองค์ และทราบว่าเมฆของพระองค์อยู่เหนือพวกเขา พระองค์ทรงนำหน้าพวกเขาไปด้วยเสาเมฆในเวลากลางวันและเสาเพลิงในเวลากลางคืน 15หากพระองค์ทรงประหารประชากรทั้งหมดในคราวเดียวกัน ประชาชาติทั้งหลายที่ได้ยินเรื่องนี้จะพูดกันว่า 16‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่สามารถนำคนเหล่านี้ไปยังดินแดนที่ทรงสัญญา โดยคำปฏิญาณว่าจะมอบให้ จึงทรงประหารเขาในถิ่นกันดาร’
17“บัดนี้ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงสำแดงอานุภาพดังที่ได้ทรงประกาศไว้ว่า 18‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงกริ้วช้า บริบูรณ์ด้วยความรักมั่นคง ทรงอภัยบาปและการกบฏ แต่พระองค์จะไม่ทรงละเว้นโทษผู้ที่ทำผิด พระองค์จะทรงลงโทษลูกหลานของเขาเพราะบาปของบรรพบุรุษถึงสามสี่ชั่วอายุคน’ 19โดยเห็นแก่ความรักอันยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์ ขอทรงอภัยโทษบาปของประชากรเหล่านี้ดังที่ได้ทรงอภัยให้เสมอมาตั้งแต่ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายออกจากอียิปต์มาจวบจนบัดนี้”
20 องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสตอบว่า “เราได้อภัยโทษให้พวกเขาตามที่เจ้าขอร้องแล้ว 21แต่เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด ทั่วพิภพโลกจะเต็มไปด้วยเกียรติสิริขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าฉันนั้น 22ทุกคนที่ได้เห็นเกียรติสิริของเราและเห็นหมายสำคัญที่เราได้ทำทั้งในอียิปต์และในถิ่นกันดารแล้วยังไม่ยอมเชื่อฟังเรา แต่ลองดีกับเรานับสิบครั้ง 23ในบรรดาคนเหล่านี้จะไม่มีสักคนเดียวที่จะได้เห็นดินแดนที่เราสัญญาโดยปฏิญาณว่าจะยกให้บรรพบุรุษของเขา จะไม่มีใครที่ดูหมิ่นเรา แล้วจะได้เห็นดินแดนนี้ 24ส่วนคาเลบผู้รับใช้ของเรามีจิตใจแตกต่างออกไป และติดตามเราอย่างสุดใจ เราจะพาเขาเข้าไปยังดินแดนที่เขาได้สำรวจมา และวงศ์วานของเขาจะได้ครอบครองดินแดนนั้น 25เนื่องจากชาวอามาเลข และชาวคานาอันอาศัยอยู่ในหุบเขา พรุ่งนี้เจ้าจะต้องออกเดินทางกลับไปยังถิ่นกันดาร ตามทางถึงทะเลแดง”
26 องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับโมเสสและอาโรนว่า 27“ชุมชนที่ชั่วร้ายเหล่านี้จะบ่นว่าเราอีกนานเท่าใด? เราได้ยินคำพร่ำบ่นของคนอิสราเอลเหล่านี้แล้ว 28ดังนั้นจงบอกพวกเขาว่า ‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประกาศดังนี้ว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะทำกับเจ้าอย่างที่เจ้าได้พูดไว้ฉันนั้น 29คือพวกเจ้าจะล้มตายในถิ่นกันดารนี้ คือพวกเจ้าทุกคนที่มีอายุยี่สิบปีขึ้นไปตามที่ได้ขึ้นทะเบียนไว้ และได้บ่นว่าเรา 30จะไม่มีสักคนได้เข้าดินแดนที่เราสัญญาว่าจะยกให้เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของเจ้า ยกเว้นคาเลบบุตรเยฟุนเนห์กับโยชูวาบุตรนูน 31ส่วนลูกหลานที่เจ้าทั้งหลายพูดว่าจะตกเป็นเชลยนั้น เราจะพาเข้าไปชื่นชมดินแดนที่พวกเจ้ามองข้าม 32ส่วนพวกเจ้าจะล้มตายในถิ่นกันดารนี้ 33ลูกหลานของเจ้าจะเลี้ยงแกะอยู่ที่นี่เป็นเวลาสี่สิบปี รับความทุกข์ยากเพราะเหตุที่พวกเจ้าไม่ซื่อสัตย์ต่อเรา จวบจนคนสุดท้ายในพวกเจ้าล้มตายลงในถิ่นกันดาร 34เจ้าจะรับโทษบาปของตนและรู้ว่าการที่เจ้าทำให้เราต่อสู้กับเจ้านั้นเป็นเช่นไรเป็นเวลาสี่สิบปี หนึ่งปีแทนหนึ่งวันของสี่สิบวันแห่งการสำรวจดินแดน’ 35เราผู้เป็นพระยาห์เวห์ได้ลั่นวาจาแล้ว และเราจะทำแก่ชุมชนชั่วร้ายทั้งหมด ซึ่งรวมหัวกันต่อต้านเราตามนี้อย่างแน่นอน พวกเขาจะพบจุดจบในถิ่นกันดารนี้ จะตายที่นี่”
36ดังนั้นบรรดาผู้ที่โมเสสใช้ไปสำรวจดินแดนและกลับมารายงานในแง่ร้ายเกี่ยวกับดินแดนนั้น ซึ่งทำให้เหล่าประชากรบ่นว่าโมเสส 37คนเหล่านั้นซึ่งกระจายข่าวในแง่ร้ายเกี่ยวกับดินแดนนั้นก็ล้มตายลงด้วยโรคภัยต่อหน้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 38ในบรรดาคนที่ไปสำรวจ มีเพียงโยชูวาบุตรนูนกับคาเลบบุตรเยฟุนเนห์เท่านั้นที่รอดชีวิตอยู่
39เมื่อโมเสสแจ้งเรื่องนี้แก่ปวงชนอิสราเอล พวกเขาพากันร่ำไห้ด้วยความเศร้าเสียใจแสนสาหัส 40เช้าตรู่วันรุ่งขึ้นพวกเขามุ่งหน้าขึ้นไปยังแถบเทือกเขาสูง และกล่าวว่า “เราทำบาปไปแล้ว เราจะขึ้นไปยังดินแดนที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงสัญญาไว้”
41แต่โมเสสกล่าวว่า “ทำไมพวกท่านจึงฝ่าฝืนพระบัญชาขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า? งานนี้จะไม่สำเร็จ! 42อย่าขึ้นไปเลยเพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่ได้สถิตกับท่าน ท่านจะพ่ายแพ้ศัตรู 43เพราะชาวอามาเลขกับชาวคานาอันจะประจันหน้ากับพวกท่านที่นั่น เพราะพวกท่านได้หันหนีจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระองค์จะไม่สถิตกับท่าน ท่านจะล้มตายด้วยคมดาบ”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
