1Dyma Samuel yn cymryd potel o olew olewydd a'i dywallt ar ben Saul. Yna ei gyfarch e gyda chusan, a dweud, “Mae'r Arglwydd yn dy eneinio di i arwain ei bobl e, Israel. Byddi'n arwain ei bobl ac yn eu hachub nhw o afael y gelynion sydd o'u cwmpas. A dyma beth fydd yn digwydd i ddangos i ti mai'r Arglwydd sydd wedi dy ddewis di i arwain ei bobl: 2Wrth i ti adael heddiw byddi'n cyfarfod dau ddyn wrth ymyl bedd Rachel, a yn Seltsach ar ffin Benjamin. Byddan nhw'n dweud: ‘Mae'r asennod wyt ti wedi bod yn chwilio amdanyn nhw wedi dod i'r golwg. Dydy dy dad ddim yn poeni amdanyn nhw bellach. Poeni amdanoch chi mae e, a gofyn, “Be ddylwn i ei wneud am fy mab?”’ 3“Byddi'n mynd yn dy flaen wedyn, a dod at dderwen Tabor ▼▼10:3 derwen Tabor Mae'n bosib mai dyma lle roedd Debora, morwyn Rebeca, wedi ei chladdu (Genesis 35:8).
, lle byddi'n cyfarfod tri dyn ar eu ffordd i addoli Duw yn Bethel – un yn cario tair gafr ifanc, un arall yn cario tair torth o fara, a'r olaf yn cario potel groen o win. 4Byddan nhw'n dy gyfarch ac yn rhoi dwy dorth i ti. Cymer nhw ganddyn nhw. 5“Wedyn, dos ymlaen i Gibeath Elohîm lle mae garsiwn milwrol gan y Philistiaid. Wrth i ti gyrraedd y dre, byddi'n cyfarfod criw o broffwydi yn dod i lawr o'r allor leol ar y bryn. Bydd nabl, drwm, pib a thelyn yn mynd o'u blaenau nhw, a hwythau'n dilyn ac yn proffwydo. 6A bydd Ysbryd yr Arglwydd yn dod yn rymus arnat tithau, a byddi'n proffwydo gyda nhw. Byddi fel person gwahanol. 7“Pan fydd yr arwyddion yma i gyd wedi digwydd gwna beth bynnag sydd angen ei wneud, achos mae Duw gyda ti. 8“Wedyn dos i Gilgal. Bydda i'n dod yno atat ti i gyflwyno offrymau i'w llosgi ac offrymau i gydnabod daioni'r Arglwydd. Aros amdana i am wythnos, a bydda i'n dod i ddangos i ti be i'w wneud nesaf.” 9Wrth i Saul droi i ffwrdd i adael Samuel dyma Duw yn newid ei agwedd yn llwyr. A dyma'r arwyddion i gyd yn digwydd y diwrnod hwnnw. 10Pan gyrhaeddodd Saul a'i was Gibea dyma griw o broffwydi yn dod i'w cyfarfod nhw. A dyma Ysbryd yr Arglwydd yn dod ar Saul, a dechreuodd broffwydo gyda nhw. 11Pan welodd pawb oedd yn ei nabod Saul yn proffwydo gyda'r proffwydi, dyma nhw'n dweud wrth ei gilydd, “Be yn y byd sydd wedi digwydd i fab Cish? Ydy Saul hefyd yn un o'r proffwydi?” 12A dyma un dyn lleol yn ateb “Ydy e o bwys pwy ydy eu tad nhw?” A dyna lle dechreuodd y dywediad, “Ydy Saul yn un o'r proffwydi?” 13Ar ôl gorffen proffwydo, dyma Saul yn mynd at yr allor leol. 14Gofynnodd ei ewythr iddo fe a'i was, “Ble dych chi wedi bod?” “I chwilio am yr asennod,” meddai Saul. “Ac am ein bod yn methu eu ffeindio nhw aethon ni at Samuel.” 15“A be ddwedodd Samuel wrthoch chi?” meddai'r ewythr. 16“Dweud wrthon ni eu bod nhw wedi ffeindio'r asennod,” meddai Saul. Ond ddwedodd e ddim gair am beth oedd Samuel wedi ei ddweud wrtho am fod yn frenin. Saul yn cael ei wneud yn frenin
17Dyma Samuel yn galw'r bobl at ei gilydd i Mitspa i gyfarfod yr Arglwydd. 18Dwedodd wrth bobl Israel, “Dyma mae'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel, yn ei ddweud: ‘Des i ag Israel allan o'r Aifft. Gwnes i'ch achub chi o afael yr Eifftiaid a'r gwledydd eraill i gyd oedd yn eich gormesu chi. 19Ond erbyn hyn dych chi wedi gwrthod eich Duw sydd wedi'ch achub chi o bob drwg a helynt. Dych chi wedi dweud, “Na! Rho frenin i ni.”’ “Felly nawr,” meddai Samuel, “dw i eisiau i chi sefyll o flaen yr Arglwydd bob yn llwyth a theulu.” 20A dyma fe'n dod â pob un o lwythau Israel o flaen Duw yn eu tro. Dyma lwyth Benjamin yn cael ei ddewis. 21Wedyn daeth â llwyth Benjamin ymlaen fesul clan. A dyma glan Matri yn cael ei ddewis. Ac yn y diwedd dyma Saul fab Cish yn cael ei ddewis. Roedden nhw'n chwilio amdano ond yn methu dod o hyd iddo. 22Felly dyma nhw'n gofyn i'r Arglwydd eto, “Ydy'r dyn yna wedi dod yma?” Ac ateb Duw oedd, “Dacw fe, yn cuddio yng nghanol yr offer.” 23Dyma nhw'n rhedeg yno i'w nôl a'i osod i sefyll yn y canol. Roedd e'n dalach na phawb arall o'i gwmpas. 24A dyma Samuel yn dweud wrth y bobl, “Ydych chi'n gweld y dyn mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei ddewis i chi? Does neb tebyg iddo.” A dyma'r bobl i gyd yn gweiddi, “Hir oes i'r brenin!” 25Wedyn dyma Samuel yn esbonio i'r bobl yr holl drefn o gael brenin, a'i ysgrifennu mewn sgrôl. Cafodd honno ei chadw o flaen yr Arglwydd. Wedyn dyma Samuel yn anfon y bobl i gyd adre. 26Aeth Saul adre hefyd, i Gibea. A dyma ddynion dewr oedd wedi eu cyffwrdd gan Dduw yn mynd gydag e. 27Ond roedd yna rai eraill, rhyw ddynion da i ddim, yn dweud, “Sut all hwn ein hachub ni?” Roedden nhw'n ei wfftio, a ddaethon nhw ddim ag anrheg iddo. Ond ddwedodd Saul ddim byd am y peth.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
