Paratoadau i ddathlu'r Pasg
1Dyma Heseceia yn anfon neges allan drwy Israel a Jwda gyfan. Anfonodd lythyrau at lwythau Effraim a Manasse hefyd. Roedd yn galw pawb i ddod i'r deml yn Jerwsalem i ddathlu Pasg yr Arglwydd, Duw Israel. 2Roedd y brenin wedi cytuno gyda'r arweinwyr a phobl Jerwsalem i gadw'r Pasg yn yr ail fis. 3Roedden nhw'n methu ei gadw ar yr adeg iawn am fod dim digon o offeiriad wedi bod trwy'r ddefod o gysegru eu hunain, a doedd y bobl ddim wedi cael cyfle i ddod i Jerwsalem. 4Felly roedd y brenin a'r bobl yn meddwl mai dyma'r cynllun gorau. 5Dyma nhw'n anfon neges allan drwy Israel gyfan, o Beersheba yn y de i Dan yn y gogledd. Roedd pawb i ddod i Jerwsalem i gadw Pasg i'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel. Doedden nhw ddim wedi bod yn cadw'r Pasg fel Gŵyl genedlaethol, fel roedd y Gyfraith yn dweud. 6Cafodd negeswyr eu hanfon allan i bobman yn Israel a Jwda gyda llythyr oddi wrth y brenin a'r arweinwyr. A dyma oedd y llythyr yn ei ddweud: “Bobl Israel, trowch yn ôl at yr Arglwydd, Duw Abraham, Isaac ac Israel, iddo fe droi'n ôl atoch chi, yr ychydig sydd wedi dianc o afael brenhinoedd Asyria. 7Peidiwch bod fel eich tadau a'ch brodyr oedd yn anffyddlon i'r Arglwydd, Duw eu hynafiaid. Dyna pam cawson nhw eu cosbi ganddo, fel dych chi'n gweld. 8Peidiwch bod yn ystyfnig fel eich tadau. Byddwch yn ufudd i'r Arglwydd, a dewch i'r deml sydd wedi ei chysegru ganddo am byth. Addolwch yr Arglwydd eich Duw, iddo stopio bod mor ddig gyda chi. 9Os gwnewch chi droi'n ôl at yr Arglwydd, bydd y rhai sydd wedi cymryd eich plant a'ch perthnasau'n gaeth yn dangos trugaredd arnyn nhw. Byddan nhw'n eu hanfon yn ôl i'r wlad yma. Mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw mor garedig a thrugarog. Fydd e ddim yn eich gwrthod chi os trowch chi'n ôl ato fe.”Dathlu Gŵyl y Pasg
10Aeth y negeswyr i bob tref yn Effraim a Manasse, cyn belled a Sabulon. Ond roedd y bobl yn chwerthin a gwneud hwyl ar eu pennau. 11Dim ond rhai pobl o Asher, Manasse a Sabulon wnaeth ufuddhau a mynd i Jerwsalem. 12Yn Jwda, roedd Duw wedi creu awydd yn y bobl i gyd i ufuddhau i'r brenin a'r swyddogion oedd wedi gwneud beth roedd yr Arglwydd yn ei orchymyn. 13Felly yn yr ail fis daeth tyrfa enfawr o bobl i Jerwsalem i gadw Gŵyl y Bara Croyw. 14A dyma nhw'n mynd ati i gael gwared â'r allorau oedd yn Jerwsalem, a taflu'r holl allorau i losgi arogldarth i ddyffryn Cidron. 15Cafodd oen y Pasg ei ladd ar y pedwerydd ar ddeg o'r ail fis. Cododd hyn gywilydd ar yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid, a dyma nhw'n mynd ati i gysegru eu hunain i fynd i deml yr Arglwydd i gyflwyno offrymau llosg. 16Dyma nhw'n sefyll yn eu lleoedd cywir, fel roedd cyfraith Moses, dyn Duw, yn dweud. Yna roedd yr offeiriaid yn derbyn gwaed yr anifeiliaid gan y Leifiaid a'i sblasio o gwmpas yr allor. 17Gan fod llawer o bobl yno oedd heb fynd trwy'r ddefod o buro eu hunain, y Lefiaid oedd yn lladd yr ŵyn dros bawb oedd yn methu cyflwyno'r offrwm eu hunain. 18Roedd y mwyafrif o bobl Effraim, Manasse, Issachar a Sabulon yn aflan, ac heb fod trwy'r ddefod o buro eu hunain. Er hynny dyma nhw'n bwyta o'r Pasg yn groes i beth mae'r Gyfraith yn ei ddweud. Ond dyma Heseceia'n gweddïo drostyn nhw, “Boed i'r Arglwydd da, faddau 19i bawb sydd wir am ddilyn eu Duw, sef yr Arglwydd, Duw eu hynafiaid, er nad ydyn nhw wedi cysegru eu hunain fel mae defod puro'r deml yn gofyn.” 20A dyma'r Arglwydd yn gwrando ar weddi Heseceia, a iacháu'r bobl. 21Roedd pobl Israel yn Jerwsalem yn dathlu Gŵyl y Bara Croyw yn llawen am saith diwrnod. Roedd y Lefiaid a'r offeiriaid yn moli'r Arglwydd bob dydd, ac yn canu ei glod yn uchel ar offerynnau cerdd. 22Roedd Heseceia'n canmol y Lefiaid am eu dawn wrth addoli'r Arglwydd. Aeth y gwledda ymlaen am saith diwrnod. Roedden nhw'n cyflwyno offrymau i ofyn am fendith yr Arglwydd ac yn cyffesu eu pechodau i'r Arglwydd, Duw eu hynafiaid. 23Yna dyma pawb yn cytuno i gadw'r Ŵyl am saith diwrnod arall. Felly dyma nhw dal ati i ddathlu'n llawen am wythnos arall. 24Roedd Heseceia wedi rhoi mil o deirw a saith mil a ddefaid a geifr i'r gynulleidfa. A dyma'r arweinwyr yn rhoi mil arall o deirw a deg mil o ddefaid a geifr iddyn nhw. A aeth llawer iawn mwy o offeiriaid drwy'r ddefod o buro eu hunain. 25Roedd pobl Jwda yno, a'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid, yr holl bobl oedd wedi dod o Israel, a'r mewnfudwyr oedd wedi dod o Israel i fyw yn Jwda – roedd pawb yno'n dathlu gyda'i gilydd. 26Hwn oedd y dathliad mwyaf fuodd yn Jerwsalem ers pan oedd Solomon fab Dafydd yn frenin ar Israel. 27Dyma'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid yn sefyll i fendithio'r bobl. Clywodd yr Arglwydd nhw o'i le sanctaidd yn y nefoedd.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
