Eliseus yn gwneud i ben bwyell arnofio
1Un diwrnod dyma aelodau'r urdd o broffwydi yn dweud wrth Eliseus, “Edrych, mae'r lle yma lle dŷn ni'n cyfarfod gyda ti yn rhy fach. 2Beth am i ni fynd at yr Afon Iorddonen. Gallwn ni i gyd gymryd coed oddi yno, a mynd ati i adeiladu lle newydd i ni gyfarfod.” “Iawn, ewch chi,” meddai Eliseus. 3Ond dyma un ohonyn nhw'n gofyn iddo, “Plîs wnei di ddod gyda ni?” A dyma fe'n cytuno, 4a mynd gyda nhw. Pan gyrhaeddon nhw'r Afon Iorddonen dyma nhw'n dechrau torri coed. 5Roedd un ohonyn nhw wrthi'n torri trawst, a dyma ben ei fwyell yn syrthio i'r dŵr. A dyma fe'n gweiddi, “O, syr! Bwyell wedi ei benthyg oedd hi!” 6Dyma broffwyd Duw yn gofyn iddo, “Ble syrthiodd hi?” Dangosodd iddo ble, ac yna dyma Eliseus yn torri cangen o bren, a'i thaflu i'r fan, a dyma'r fwyell yn dod i'r wyneb. 7“Gafael ynddi,” meddai Eliseus. A dyma'r proffwyd ifanc yn estyn ei law a codi'r fwyell o'r dŵr.Eliseus yn rhwystro byddin Syria
8Pan oedd brenin Syria yn rhyfela yn erbyn Israel, roedd e'n trafod y strategaeth gyda'i swyddogion milwrol. Byddai'n penderfynu codi gwersyll yn rhywle, i ymosod ar Israel. 9Ond wedyn byddai Eliseus, proffwyd Duw, yn anfon neges at frenin Israel i ddweud wrtho am fod yn ofalus wrth fynd heibio'r lle arbennig hwnnw, am fod byddin Syria'n dod yno i ymosod. 10Wedyn byddai brenin Israel yn anfon milwyr yno i amddiffyn y lle. Roedd hyn yn digwydd dro ar ôl tro. 11Roedd brenin Syria wedi cynhyrfu o achos hyn. A dyma fe'n galw ei swyddogion at ei gilydd, a dweud, “Dwedwch wrtho i, pa un ohonoch chi sy'n helpu brenin Israel?” 12Dyma un ohonyn nhw'n ateb, “Fy mrenin. Does neb ohonon ni'n gwneud hynny, syr. Eliseus y proffwyd yn Israel ydy e! Mae hyd yn oed yn rhannu gyda brenin Israel beth ti'n ddweud yn dy ystafell wely!” 13Felly dyma'r brenin yn dweud, “Ffeindiwch e i mi, er mwyn i mi anfon dynion yno i'w ddal e!” Dyma nhw'n darganfod fod Eliseus yn Dothan, ▼▼6:13 Dothan Tua 10 milltir i'r gogledd o Samaria.

A dyma nhw'n cyrraedd yno yn y nos ac yn amgylchynu'r dre. 15Yn gynnar y bore wedyn dyma was Eliseus yn codi a mynd allan. A dyna lle roedd byddin Syria gyda cheffylau a cherbydau wedi amgylchynu'r dre. A dyma'r bachgen yn dweud wrth Eliseus, “O na! Feistr, be wnawn ni?” 16Ond dyma Eliseus yn ateb, “Paid dychryn. Mae yna fwy ar ein hochr ni nac sydd gyda nhw.” 17Yna dyma Eliseus yn gweddïo, “Arglwydd, agor ei lygaid iddo weld.” A dyma'r Arglwydd yn agor llygaid y bachgen, ac roedd e'n gweld fod y bryn yn llawn ceffylau a cherbydau fel fflamau tân o gwmpas Eliseus. 18Wrth i fyddin Syria ddod yn nes, dyma Eliseus yn gweddïo, “Arglwydd, wnei di daro'r bobl yma'n ddall.” A dyma nhw'n cael eu dallu, fel roedd Eliseus wedi gofyn. 19Yna dyma Eliseus yn mynd atyn nhw a dweud, “Dim y ffordd yma, na'r dre yma dych chi eisiau. Dewch ar fy ôl i. Gwna i fynd â chi at y dyn dych chi'n chwilio amdano.” A dyma fe'n eu harwain nhw i Samaria. 20Ar ôl iddyn nhw gyrraedd, dyma Eliseus yn gweddïo eto, “Arglwydd, agor eu llygaid nhw iddyn nhw allu gweld.” Dyma'r Arglwydd yn agor eu llygaid, ac roedden nhw'n gweld eu bod yng nghanol tref Samaria. 21Pan welodd brenin Israel nhw dyma fe'n gofyn i Eliseus, “Fy nhad, ddylwn i eu lladd nhw'n syth?” 22“Na, paid lladd nhw,” meddai Eliseus. “Fyddet ti'n lladd pobl wedi eu dal mewn brwydr? Na. Rho rywbeth i'w fwyta a'i yfed iddyn nhw, ac wedyn gadael iddyn nhw fynd yn ôl at eu meistr.” 23Felly dyma'r brenin yn trefnu gwledd fawr iddyn nhw, a dyma nhw'n bwyta ac yn yfed. Wedyn dyma nhw'n mynd yn ôl at eu meistr. O hynny ymlaen dyma fyddin Syria yn stopio ymosod ar wlad Israel. Ben-hadad, brenin Syria, yn ymosod ar Samaria
24Flynyddoedd wedyn dyma Ben-hadad, brenin Syria, yn casglu ei fyddin at ei gilydd a mynd i godi gwarchae ar Samaria. 25O ganlyniad doedd dim bwyd yn Samaria. Roedd y sefyllfa mor ddrwg nes bod pen asyn yn costio wyth deg o ddarnau arian, a powlen fach o dail colomennod ▼▼6:25 powlen fach o dail colomennod Does neb yn siŵr beth oedd hwn. Mae'r llawr dyrnu a'r cafn gwin yn wag!” 28Wedyn dyma'r brenin yn gofyn iddi “Beth sy'n bod?” A dyma hi'n ateb, “Roedd y wraig yma wedi dweud wrtho i, ‘Rho dy fab di i ni ei fwyta heddiw, a gwnawn ni fwyta fy mab i yfory.’ 29Felly dyma ni'n berwi fy mab i, a'i fwyta. Yna'r diwrnod wedyn dyma fi'n dweud wrthi, ‘Tyrd â dy fab di i ni gael ei fwyta fe nawr.’ Ond roedd hi wedi cuddio ei mab.” 30Pan glywodd y brenin hyn dyma fe'n rhwygo ei ddillad. Gan ei fod yn cerdded ar y waliau, roedd pawb yn gallu gweld ei fod e'n gwisgo sachliain oddi tanodd. 31A dyma'r brenin yn dweud, “Boed i Dduw ddial arna i os bydd pen Eliseus yn dal ar ei ysgwyddau erbyn diwedd y dydd!” 32Roedd Eliseus yn digwydd bod yn ei dŷ, ag arweinwyr Samaria o'i gwmpas. Roedd y brenin wedi anfon un o'i ddynion i'w arestio. Ond cyn iddo gyrraedd roedd Eliseus wedi dweud wrth yr arweinwyr o'i gwmpas, “Ydych chi'n gwybod beth? Mae'r cyw llofrudd yna wedi anfon dyn i dorri fy mhen i i ffwrdd. Pan fydd e'n cyrraedd, cauwch y drws a'i rwystro rhag dod i mewn. Dw i'n siŵr y bydd y brenin ei hun ddim yn bell tu ôl iddo!” 33Doedd Eliseus ddim wedi gorffen siarad pan gyrhaeddodd y negesydd. A dyma fe'n dweud, “Yr Arglwydd sydd wedi achosi'r drwg yma. Pam ddylwn i ddisgwyl help ganddo?”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
