Cornelius yn anfon am Pedr
1Roedd dyn o'r enw Cornelius yn byw yn Cesarea, oedd yn swyddog milwrol yn y Gatrawd Eidalaidd. 2Roedd e a'i deulu yn bobl grefyddol a duwiol; roedd yn rhoi'n hael i'r Iddewon oedd mewn angen ac yn ddyn oedd yn gweddïo ar Dduw yn rheolaidd. 3Un diwrnod, tua tri o'r gloch y p'nawn, cafodd weledigaeth. Gwelodd un o angylion Duw yn dod ato ac yn galw arno, “Cornelius!” 4Roedd Cornelius yn syllu arno mewn dychryn. “Beth, Arglwydd?” meddai. Atebodd yr angel, “Mae dy weddïau a'th roddion i'r tlodion wedi cael eu derbyn fel offrwm gan Dduw. 5Anfon ddynion i Jopa i nôl dyn o'r enw Simon Pedr. 6Mae'n aros yn nhŷ Simon y gweithiwr lledr ar lan y môr.” 7Pan aeth yr angel i ffwrdd, dyma Cornelius yn galw dau o'i weision a milwr duwiol oedd yn un o'i warchodwyr personol. 8Dwedodd wrthyn nhw beth oedd wedi digwydd, a'u hanfon i Jopa.Gweledigaeth Pedr
9Tua chanol dydd y diwrnod wedyn pan roedd gweision Cornelius bron â chyrraedd Jopa, roedd Pedr wedi mynd i fyny i ben y to i weddïo. 10Dechreuodd deimlo ei fod eisiau bwyd. Tra roedd cinio yn cael ei baratoi cafodd weledigaeth. 11Gwelodd yr awyr yn agor a rhywbeth tebyg i gynfas fawr yn cael ei gollwng i lawr i'r ddaear wrth ei phedair cornel. 12Y tu mewn i'r gynfas roedd pob math o anifeiliaid, ymlusgiaid ac adar. 13A dyma lais yn dweud wrtho, “Cod Pedr, lladd beth wyt ti eisiau, a'i fwyta.” 14“Dwyt ti ddim o ddifri, Arglwydd!” meddai Pedr. “Dw i erioed wedi bwyta dim byd sy'n cael ei gyfri'n aflan neu'n anghywir i'w fwyta.” 15Ond meddai'r llais, “Os ydy Duw wedi dweud fod rhywbeth yn iawn i'w fwyta, paid ti â dweud fel arall!” 16Digwyddodd yn union yr un peth dair gwaith! Yna'n sydyn aeth y gynfas yn ôl i fyny i'r awyr. 17Roedd Pedr yn methu'n lân â deall beth oedd ystyr y weledigaeth. Yna tra roedd yn meddwl am y peth cyrhaeddodd y dynion roedd Cornelius wedi eu hanfon. Dyma nhw'n sefyll y tu allan i'r giât, 18a galw i ofyn os oedd Simon Pedr yn aros yno. 19Yn y cyfamser, tra roedd Pedr yn pendroni am y weledigaeth gafodd, dwedodd yr Ysbryd Glân wrtho, “Simon, mae tri dyn yma'n edrych amdanat ti, 20felly dos i lawr atyn nhw. Dos gyda nhw, am mai fi sydd wedi eu hanfon nhw. Paid petruso.” 21Felly dyma Pedr yn mynd i lawr y grisiau a dweud wrth y dynion, “Fi dych chi'n edrych amdano. Pam dych chi yma?” 22Atebodd y dynion, “Ein meistr ni, Cornelius, sy'n swyddog yn y fyddin sydd wedi'n hanfon ni yma. Mae e'n ddyn da a duwiol sy'n cael ei barchu'n fawr gan yr Iddewon i gyd. Dwedodd angel wrtho am dy wahodd i'w dŷ iddo gael clywed beth sydd gen ti i'w ddweud.” 23Felly dyma Pedr yn croesawu'r dynion i mewn i'r tŷ i aros dros nos.Pedr yn nhŷ Cornelius
Y diwrnod wedyn dyma Pedr yn mynd gyda nhw, ac aeth rhai o gredinwyr Jopa gydag e hefyd. 24Dyma nhw'n cyrraedd Cesarea y diwrnod wedyn. Roedd Cornelius yn disgwyl amdanyn nhw, ac wedi galw ei berthnasau a'i ffrindiau draw. 25Pan ddaeth Pedr i mewn trwy'r drws, dyma Cornelius yn mynd ato a syrthio i lawr o'i flaen fel petai'n ei addoli. 26Ond dyma Pedr yn gwneud iddo godi: “Saf ar dy draed,” meddai wrtho, “dyn cyffredin ydw i fel ti.” 27Roedd Pedr wrthi'n sgwrsio gyda Cornelius wrth fynd i mewn, a gwelodd fod criw mawr o bobl wedi dod i wrando arno. 28A dyma ddwedodd wrthyn nhw: “Dych chi'n gwybod fod ein Cyfraith ni'r Iddewon ddim yn caniatáu i ni gymysgu gyda phobl o genhedloedd eraill. Ond mae Duw wedi dangos i mi fod gen i ddim hawl i ystyried unrhyw un yn aflan. 29Felly pan anfonoch chi amdana i, doedd dim dadl am y peth – des i ar unwaith. Ga i ofyn felly, pam wnaethoch chi anfon amdana i?” 30Atebodd Cornelius: “Bedwar diwrnod yn ôl tua'r adeg yma, sef tri o'r gloch y p'nawn, roeddwn i yn y tŷ yn gweddïo. Yn sydyn roedd dyn yn sefyll o mlaen i a'i ddillad yn disgleirio'n llachar. 31Dwedodd wrtho i ‘Cornelius, mae Duw wedi clywed dy weddi a derbyn dy roddion i'r tlodion. 32Anfon rywun i Jopa i nôl dyn o'r enw Simon Pedr. Mae'n aros yng nghartre Simon, gweithiwr lledr sy'n byw ar lan y môr.’ 33Felly dyma fi'n anfon amdanat ti ar unwaith. Dw i'n ddiolchgar i ti am ddod. Felly dŷn ni yma i gyd i wrando ar y cwbl mae'r Arglwydd Dduw am i ti ei ddweud wrthon ni.” 34Felly dyma Pedr yn dechrau eu hannerch: “Dw i'n deall yn iawn erbyn hyn, y dywediad hwnnw fod Duw ddim yn dangos ffafriaeth! 35Mae'n derbyn pobl o bob gwlad sy'n ei addoli ac yn gwneud beth sy'n iawn. 36Anfonodd Duw ei neges at bobl Israel, a dweud y newyddion da fod bywyd llawn i'w gael drwy Iesu y Meseia, sy'n Arglwydd ar bopeth. 37Dych chi'n gwybod, mae'n siŵr, beth fuodd yn digwydd yn Jwdea. Dechreuodd y cwbl yn Galilea ar ôl i Ioan ddechrau galw pobl i gael eu bedyddio. 38Roedd Duw wedi eneinio Iesu o Nasareth â'r Ysbryd Glân ac â nerth rhyfeddol. Roedd yn mynd o gwmpas yn gwneud daioni ac yn iacháu pawb oedd yn dioddef am fod y diafol yn eu poeni nhw. Roedd Duw gydag e! 39Dŷn ni'n llygad-dystion i'r cwbl! Gwelon ni bopeth wnaeth Iesu yn Jerwsalem a gweddill Israel. Cafodd ei ladd drwy gael ei hoelio ar bren ganddyn nhw, 40ond ddeuddydd yn ddiweddarach dyma Duw yn dod ag e'n ôl yn fyw! Gwelodd pobl e'n fyw! 41(Wnaeth pawb mo'i weld, dim ond y rhai ohonon ni oedd Duw wedi eu dewis i fod yn llygad-dystion.) Buon ni'n bwyta ac yn yfed gydag e ar ôl iddo ddod yn ôl yn fyw! 42Rhoddodd orchymyn i ni gyhoeddi'r newyddion da ym mhobman, a dweud mai fe ydy'r un mae Duw wedi ei benodi i farnu pawb – pawb sy'n fyw a phawb sydd wedi marw. 43Fe ydy'r un mae'r proffwydi i gyd yn sôn amdano, ac yn dweud y bydd pechodau pawb sy'n credu ynddo yn cael eu maddau.” 44Tra oedd Pedr ar ganol dweud hyn i gyd, dyma'r Ysbryd Glân yn disgyn ar bawb oedd yn gwrando. 45Roedd y credinwyr Iddewig oedd gyda Pedr wedi eu syfrdanu'n llwyr fod yr Ysbryd Glân wedi cael ei dywallt ar bobl o genhedloedd eraill! 46Ond dyna oedd wedi digwydd – roedden nhw'n eu clywed nhw'n siarad mewn ieithoedd dieithr ac yn moli Duw. A dyma Pedr yn dweud, 47“Oes unrhyw un yn gallu gwrthwynebu bedyddio'r bobl yma â dŵr? Maen nhw wedi derbyn yr Ysbryd Glân yn union yr un fath â ni!” 48Felly dyma Pedr yn dweud eu bod nhw i gael eu bedyddio fel arwydd o ddod i berthynas â Iesu y Meseia. Wedyn dyma nhw'n gofyn i Pedr aros gyda nhw am beth amser.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
