Timotheus yn ymuno â Paul a Silas
1Aeth Paul ymlaen i Derbe ac yna i Lystra, lle roedd disgybl o'r enw Timotheus yn byw. Roedd ei fam yn Iddewes ac yn credu, ond ei dad yn Roegwr. 2Dim ond pethau da oedd gan Gristnogion Lystra ac Iconium i'w dweud am Timotheus, 3felly roedd Paul am iddo fynd gyda nhw ar y daith. Trefnodd i Timotheus gael ei enwaedu rhag i'r Iddewon yn yr ardal gael eu tramgwyddo. Roedden nhw'n gwybod fod tad Timotheus yn Roegwr. 4Wrth deithio o un dref i'r llall roedden nhw'n dweud beth oedd yr apostolion a'r arweinwyr eraill yn Jerwsalem wedi penderfynu ei ofyn gan gredinwyr o genhedloedd eraill. 5Felly roedd ffydd yr eglwysi yn cryfhau a nifer y bobl ynddyn nhw'n tyfu bob dydd.Paul yn cael gweledigaeth o ddyn o Macedonia
6Teithiodd Paul a'i ffrindiau ymlaen ar hyd cyrion Phrygia a Galatia, gan fod yr Ysbryd Glân wedi eu stopio nhw rhag mynd i dalaith Asia i rannu eu neges. 7Dyma nhw'n cyrraedd ffin Mysia gyda'r bwriad o fynd ymlaen i Bithynia ▼▼16:6-7 Roedd Phrygia, Galatia, Asia, Mysia, a Bithynia yn ardaloedd gwahanol yn y wlad dŷn ni'n ei hadnabod fel Twrci.
, ond dyma Ysbryd Glân Iesu yn eu stopio nhw rhag mynd yno hefyd. 8Felly dyma nhw'n mynd trwy Mysia i lawr i ddinas Troas. 9Y noson honno cafodd Paul weledigaeth – roedd dyn o Macedonia yn sefyll o'i flaen, yn crefu arno, “Tyrd draw i Macedonia i'n helpu ni!” 10Felly, o ganlyniad i'r weledigaeth yma, dyma ni'n ▼▼16:10 Roedd Luc, awdur llyfr yr Actau, gyda Paul ar y daith yma.

11Dyma ni'n hwylio o borthladd Troas a chroesi'n syth ar draws i ynys Samothrace, cyn glanio yn Neapolis y diwrnod wedyn. 12O'r fan honno aethon ni ymlaen i Philipi sy'n dref Rufeinig – y ddinas fwyaf yn y rhan honno o Macedonia. Buon ni yno am rai dyddiau. 13Ar y dydd Saboth dyma ni'n mynd allan o'r ddinas at lan yr afon, lle roedden ni'n deall fod pobl yn cyfarfod i weddïo. Dyma ni'n eistedd i lawr a dechrau siarad â'r gwragedd oedd wedi dod at ei gilydd yno. 14Roedd un wraig yno o'r enw Lydia – gwraig o ddinas Thyatira oedd â busnes gwerthu brethyn porffor drud. Roedd hi'n un oedd yn addoli Duw. Wrth wrando, agorodd yr Arglwydd ddrws ei chalon hi, a dyma hi'n ymateb i neges Paul. 15Cafodd hi a rhai eraill o'i thŷ eu bedyddio, a rhoddodd wahoddiad i ni i aros yn ei thŷ. “Os dych chi'n derbyn mod i wedi dod i gredu yn yr Arglwydd,” meddai, “dewch i aros yn fy nghartre i.” A llwyddodd i'n perswadio ni i wneud hynny.Paul a Silas yn y carchar
16Rhyw ddiwrnod arall pan oedden ni ar ein ffordd i'r lle gweddi, dyma ni'n cyfarfod caethferch oedd ag ysbryd ynddi yn ei galluogi i ragweld y dyfodol. Roedd hi'n ennill arian mawr i'w pherchnogion drwy ddweud ffortiwn. 17Dechreuodd ein dilyn ni, gan weiddi, “Mae'r dynion yma yn weision i'r Duw Goruchaf! Maen nhw'n dweud wrthoch chi sut i gael eich achub!” 18Aeth hyn ymlaen am ddyddiau lawer. Yn y diwedd, roedd hi wedi mynd ar nerfau Paul cymaint nes iddo droi rownd a dweud wrth yr ysbryd drwg oedd ynddi, “Yn enw Iesu y Meseia, tyrd allan ohoni!” A dyma'r ysbryd yn ei gadael hi yr eiliad honno. 19Pan welodd ei meistri fod pob gobaith o wneud elw trwyddi wedi mynd hefyd, dyma nhw'n gafael yn Paul a Silas a'u llusgo o flaen yr awdurdodau yn sgwâr y farchnad. 20“Mae'r Iddewon hyn yn codi twrw yn y dre,” medden nhw wrth yr ynadon 21“ac maen nhw'n annog pobl i wneud pethau sy'n groes i'n harferion ni Rufeiniaid.” 22Ymunodd y dyrfa yn yr ymosod ar Paul a Silas, a dyma'r ynadon yn gorchymyn tynnu dillad y ddau a'u curo â ffyn. 23Wedyn ar ôl eu curo'n ddidrugaredd, dyma nhw'n eu taflu nhw i'r carchar. Cafodd swyddog y carchar orchymyn i'w gwylio nhw'n ofalus, 24felly rhoddodd y ddau ohonyn nhw yn y gell fwyaf diogel a rhoi eu traed mewn cyffion. 25Tua hanner nos roedd Paul a Silas wrthi'n gweddïo ac yn canu emynau o fawl, ac roedd y carcharorion eraill i gyd yn gwrando. 26Yna'n sydyn dyma ddaeargryn mawr yn ysgwyd y carchar i'w sylfeini. Dyma'r drysau i gyd yn agor, a'r cadwyni yn disgyn i ffwrdd oddi ar bawb! 27Pan ddeffrodd swyddog y carchar a gweld y drysau ar agor, roedd yn meddwl fod y carcharorion wedi dianc. Gafaelodd yn ei gleddyf gan fwriadu lladd ei hun. 28Ond dyma Paul yn gweiddi, “Paid! Dŷn ni i gyd yma!” 29Galwodd y swyddog am oleuadau, a rhuthro i mewn i gell Paul a Silas, a syrthio i lawr o'u blaenau yn crynu mewn ofn. 30Yna aeth a nhw allan a gofyn iddyn nhw, “Beth sydd raid i mi ei wneud i gael fy achub?” 31Dyma nhw'n ateb, “Credu yn yr Arglwydd Iesu, dyna sut mae cael dy achub – ti a phawb arall yn dy dŷ.” 32A dyma nhw'n rhannu'r newyddion da am yr Arglwydd Iesu gyda'r swyddog a phawb arall yn ei dŷ. 33Yna aeth y swyddog â nhw yng nghanol y nos i lanhau eu briwiau. Wedyn cafodd e a phawb arall yn ei dŷ eu bedyddio. 34Yna aeth â nhw i'w gartref a rhoi pryd o fwyd iddyn nhw. Roedd pawb yn ei dŷ mor hapus eu bod nhw wedi credu yn Nuw. 35Yn gynnar y bore wedyn dyma'r ynadon yn anfon plismyn i'r carchar i ddweud wrth y swyddog am ollwng Paul a Silas yn rhydd. 36Dyma'r swyddog yn dweud wrth Paul, “Mae'r ynadon wedi dweud eich bod chi'ch dau yn rhydd i fynd.” 37Ond meddai Paul wrth y plismyn: “Maen nhw wedi'n curo ni'n gyhoeddus a'n taflu ni i'r carchar heb achos llys, a ninnau'n ddinasyddion Rhufeinig! Ydyn nhw'n meddwl nawr eu bod nhw'n gallu cael gwared â ni'n ddistaw bach? Dim gobaith! Bydd rhaid iddyn nhw ddod yma eu hunain i'n hebrwng ni allan!” 38Dyma'r plismyn yn mynd i ddweud wrth yr ynadon beth oedd wedi digwydd. Pan glywon nhw fod Paul a Silas yn ddinasyddion Rhufeinig roedden nhw wedi dychryn. 39Felly dyma nhw'n dod i'r carchar i ymddiheuro. Ar ôl mynd â nhw allan o'r carchar, dyma nhw'n pwyso ar y ddau dro ar ôl tro i adael y ddinas. 40Felly dyma Paul a Silas yn mynd i dŷ Lydia i gyfarfod y credinwyr a'u hannog nhw i ddal ati, ac wedyn dyma nhw'n gadael Philipi.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
