1“A dyma ni'n troi'n ôl i gyfeiriad yr anialwch a'r Môr Coch, ▼▼2:1 Môr Coch Hebraeg, “Môr y Brwyn”.
fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud wrthon ni. Buon ni'n crwydro o gwmpas cyrion bryniau Seir am amser hir iawn. 2“Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, 3‘Dych chi wedi bod yn crwydro o gwmpas y mynyddoedd yma yn llawer rhy hir. Trowch am y gogledd. 4A dywed hyn wrth y bobl, “Dych chi ar fin croesi'r ffin i diriogaeth pobl Edom, sy'n perthyn i chi (sef disgynyddion Esau). Ond bydd ganddyn nhw eich ofn chi, felly byddwch yn ofalus. 5Peidiwch bygwth nhw. Dw i ddim yn mynd i roi modfedd sgwâr o'u tir nhw i chi. Dw i wedi rhoi bryniau Seir i ddisgynyddion Esau. 6Felly talwch iddyn nhw am eich bwyd a'ch diod. 7Mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw wedi bendithio popeth dych chi wedi ei wneud. Mae wedi gofalu amdanoch chi tra dych chi wedi bod yn crwydro yn yr anialwch yma ers pedwar deg o flynyddoedd. Mae e wedi bod gyda chi drwy'r amser, ac wedi rhoi i chi bopeth oedd arnoch chi ei angen.”’ 8“Felly dyma ni'n pasio heibio'n perthnasau, disgynyddion Esau, oedd yn byw yn Seir. Troi oddi ar y ffordd i Ddyffryn Iorddonen ac osgoi trefi Elat ac Etsion-geber, a teithio ymlaen i gyfeiriad tiroedd anial Moab. 9Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, ‘Peidiwch tarfu ar bobl Moab na dechrau ymladd gyda nhw. Dw i ddim am roi eu tir nhw i chi o gwbl. Dw i wedi rhoi Moab ▼▼2:9 Moab Hebraeg, “Ar”, sef tref bwysicaf Moab (gw. Numeri 21:28), yn cynrychioli'r wlad i gyd.

Roedd pobl eraill yn eu galw nhw a'r Anaciaid yn Reffaiaid. 12A'r Horiaid oedd yn arfer byw yn Seir, ond roedd disgynyddion Esau wedi eu concro nhw a setlo i lawr ar eu tiroedd. A dyna'n union wnaeth Israel yn y tir y daethon nhw i'w gymryd, sef y tir roddodd yr Arglwydd iddyn nhw.) 13“Wedyn dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud, ‘Ewch yn eich blaenau, a croesi Wadi Sered ▼▼2:13 Wadi Sered Y ceunant yma oedd y ffin rhwng Moab ac Edom.
.’ A dyna wnaethon ni. 14“Felly roedd tri deg wyth mlynedd wedi mynd heibio rhwng cyrraedd Cadesh-barnea y tro cyntaf, a chroesi'r Wadi Sered. Erbyn hynny roedd y genhedlaeth gyfan o filwyr oedd yn Cadesh wedi marw, fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi addo ar lw. 15Yn wir, yr Arglwydd ei hun oedd wedi cael gwared â nhw, a gwneud yn siŵr eu bod nhw i gyd wedi mynd. 16Felly, pan oedd yr olaf o'r milwyr hynny wedi marw, 17dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, 18‘Heddiw dych chi'n mynd i groesi tir Moab, wrth Ar. 19Pan ddowch chi at dir pobl Ammon, peidiwch tarfu arnyn nhw ychwaith na dechrau ymladd gyda nhw. Dw i ddim am roi eu tir nhw i chi o gwbl. Dw i wedi ei roi e iddyn nhw, sy'n ddisgynyddion i Lot.’” 20(Roedd y tir yma hefyd yn arfer perthyn i'r Reffaiaid. Nhw oedd yn byw yno'n wreiddiol. Enw pobl Ammon arnyn nhw oedd Samswmiaid – 21tyrfa fawr arall o gewri cryfion fel yr Anaciaid. Ond roedd yr Arglwydd wedi eu dinistrio nhw, ac roedd pobl Ammon wedi setlo i lawr ar eu tiroedd. 22A dyna'n union oedd wedi digwydd gyda disgynyddion Esau sy'n dal i fyw hyd heddiw yn ardal Seir. Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dinistrio'r Horiaid oedd yn byw yno o'u blaenau nhw. 23A'r un fath gyda'r Afiaid oedd yn byw mewn pentrefi mor bell â Gasa yn y de. Y Philistiaid o ynys Creta ▼▼2:23 Philistiaid Hebraeg, “pobl Cafftor”, sef y Philistiaid, oedd yn dod yn wreiddiol o Creta (gw. Amos 9:7)

Ewch i ryfel yn ei erbyn! 25O heddiw ymlaen bydd pobl ym mhobman yn dychryn ac yn ofni pan fyddan nhw'n clywed amdanoch chi. Byddan nhw'n crynu mewn ofn wrth i chi ddod yn agos.’” Ennill brwydr yn erbyn y brenin Sihon

Gwnawn ni aros ar y briffordd, a mynd yn syth trwodd. 28Gwnawn ni dalu am unrhyw fwyd neu ddŵr fyddwn ni ei angen. Dŷn ni ond am i ti adael i ni basio drwy'r wlad – 29fel gwnaeth disgynyddion Esau yn Seir a'r Moabiaid yn Ar. Yna byddwn ni'n croesi'r Afon Iorddonen i'r tir mae'r Arglwydd ein Duw yn ei roi i ni.’ 30“Ond doedd y Brenin Sihon o Cheshbon ddim yn fodlon gadael i ni groesi ei dir. Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi ei wneud yn galed ac ystyfnig, er mwyn i chi ei goncro. 31Dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, ‘Dw i'n rhoi Sihon a'i dir i chi. Ewch ati i gymryd y wlad drosodd.’ 32“Pan ddaeth Sihon a'i fyddin allan i ymladd yn ein herbyn yn Iahats, 33dyma'r Arglwydd ein Duw yn ein helpu ni i'w drechu. Cafodd Sihon, ei feibion, a'i fyddin i gyd eu lladd. 34Dyma ni'n concro a dinistrio'r trefi i gyd, a lladd pawb oedd yn byw ynddyn nhw – hyd yn oed gwragedd a phlant. 35Dim ond yr anifeiliaid, ac unrhyw beth arall oedd yn werthfawr, wnaethon ni ei gadw. 36Dyma'r Arglwydd ein Duw yn ein helpu i goncro pob tref o Aroer, ar ymyl Ceunant Arnon, a'r dref sydd yn y dyffryn ei hun, yr holl ffordd i Gilead yn y gogledd. 37Ond fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi gorchymyn, wnaethon ni ddim cymryd tir pobl Ammon, wrth ymyl Afon Jabboc, na'r trefi yn y bryniau.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
