(Deuteronomium 9:6-29) 1Pan welodd y bobl fod Moses yn hir iawn yn dod i lawr o'r mynydd, dyma nhw'n casglu o gwmpas Aaron a dweud wrtho, “Tyrd, gwna rywbeth. Gwna dduwiau i ni i'n harwain ni. Pwy ŵyr beth sydd wedi digwydd i'r Moses yna wnaeth ein harwain ni allan o'r Aifft!” 2Felly dyma Aaron yn dweud wrthyn nhw, “Cymerwch y modrwyau aur sydd yng nghlustiau eich gwragedd a'ch meibion a'ch merched, a dewch â nhw i mi.” 3Felly dyma'r bobl i gyd yn tynnu eu clustdlysau, a dod â nhw i Aaron. 4Cymerodd yr aur ganddyn nhw, a defnyddio offer gwaith metel i wneud eilun ar siâp tarw ifanc allan ohono. A dyma'r bobl yn dweud, “O Israel! Dyma'r duwiau ddaeth â ti allan o'r Aifft!” 5Pan welodd Aaron eu hymateb nhw, dyma fe'n codi allor o flaen yr eilun, ac yna gwneud cyhoeddiad, “Yfory byddwn ni'n cynnal Gŵyl i'r Arglwydd!” 6Felly dyma nhw'n codi'n gynnar y bore wedyn a cyflwyno offrymau i'w llosgi ac offrymau i gydnabod daioni'r Arglwydd. Eisteddodd y bobl i lawr i wledda ac yfed, ac yna codi i ymgolli mewn rhialtwch paganaidd. 7Dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, “Brysia, dos yn ôl i lawr! Mae dy bobl di, y rhai ddaethost ti â nhw allan o wlad yr Aifft, wedi gwneud peth ofnadwy. 8Maen nhw eisoes wedi troi i ffwrdd oddi wrth beth wnes i orchymyn – maen nhw wedi gwneud eilun ar siâp tarw ifanc, ac wedi ei addoli ac aberthu iddo a dweud, ‘O Israel! Dyma'r duwiau ddaeth â ti allan o'r Aifft!’” 9Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud, “Dw i'n edrych ar y bobl yma, ac yn gweld eu bod nhw'n bobl ystyfnig iawn. 10Gad lonydd i mi. Dw i wedi digio'n lân gyda nhw, a dw i'n mynd i'w dinistrio nhw. Bydda i'n dy wneud di, Moses, yn dad i genedl fawr yn eu lle nhw.” 11Ond dyma Moses yn ceisio tawelu'r Arglwydd ei Dduw, a dweud wrtho, “O Arglwydd, pam rwyt ti mor ddig hefo dy bobl? Ti sydd wedi defnyddio dy rym a dy nerth i ddod â nhw allan o wlad yr Aifft. 12Wyt ti am i'r Eifftiaid ddweud, ‘Roedd e eisiau gwneud drwg iddyn nhw. Dyna pam wnaeth e eu harwain nhw allan. Roedd e eisiau eu lladd nhw ar y mynyddoedd, a chael gwared â nhw'n llwyr oddi ar wyneb y ddaear!’? Paid bod mor ddig. Meddwl eto cyn gwneud y fath ddrwg i dy bobl! 13Cofia beth wnest ti ei addo i dy weision Abraham, Isaac a Jacob. Dwedaist wrthyn nhw, ‘Dw i'n mynd i roi cymaint o ddisgynyddion i ti ag sydd o sêr yn yr awyr, a dw i'n mynd i roi'r tir yma dw i wedi bod yn sôn amdano i dy ddisgynyddion di. Byddan nhw'n ei etifeddu am byth.’” 14Felly dyma'r Arglwydd yn newid ei feddwl. Roedd yn sori ei fod wedi bwriadu gwneud niwed i'w bobl. 15A dyma Moses yn dechrau ar ei ffordd i lawr o ben y mynydd. Roedd yn cario dwy lech y dystiolaeth yn ei ddwylo. Roedd ysgrifen ar ddwy ochr y llechi. 16Duw ei hun oedd wedi eu gwneud nhw, a Duw oedd wedi ysgrifennu arnyn nhw – roedd y geiriau wedi eu crafu ar y llechi. 17Pan glywodd Josua holl sŵn y bobl yn gweiddi, dyma fe'n dweud wrth Moses, “Mae'n swnio fel petai yna ryfel yn y gwersyll!” 18A dyma Moses yn ateb, “Nid cân dathlu buddugoliaeth, glywa i,na chân wylo'r rhai sydd wedi eu trechu,
ond canu gwyllt rhai'n cynnal parti!”
19Pan gyrhaeddodd y gwersyll a gweld yr eilun o darw ifanc, a'r bobl yn dawnsio'n wyllt, dyma Moses yn colli ei dymer yn lân. Taflodd y llechi oedd yn ei ddwylo ar lawr, a dyma nhw'n malu'n deilchion wrth droed y mynydd. 20Yna dyma fe'n cymryd yr eilun o darw ifanc a'i losgi yn y tân. Wedyn ei falu'n lwch mân, ei wasgaru ar y dŵr, a gwneud i bobl Israel ei yfed. 21A dyma Moses yn troi at Aaron a gofyn iddo, “Beth wnaeth y bobl yma i ti? Pam wyt ti wedi gwneud iddyn nhw bechu mor ofnadwy?” 22A dyma Aaron yn ei ateb, “Paid bod yn ddig, meistr. Ti'n gwybod fel mae'r bobl yma'n tueddu i droi at y drwg. 23Dyma nhw'n dweud wrtho i, ‘Gwna dduwiau i ni i'n harwain ni. Pwy ŵyr beth sydd wedi digwydd i'r Moses yna wnaeth ein harwain ni allan o'r Aifft.’ 24Felly dyma fi'n dweud wrthyn nhw, ‘Os oes gan rywun aur, rhowch e i mi.’ A dyma nhw'n gwneud hynny. Wedyn pan deflais i'r cwbl i'r tân, dyma'r tarw ifanc yma'n dod allan.” 25Roedd Moses yn gweld fod y bobl allan o reolaeth yn llwyr – roedd Aaron wedi gadael iddyn nhw redeg yn wyllt, a gallai'r stori fynd ar led ymhlith eu gelynion. 26Felly dyma Moses yn sefyll wrth y fynedfa i'r gwersyll a galw ar y bobl, “Os ydych chi ar ochr yr Arglwydd, dewch yma ata i.” A dyma'r Lefiaid i gyd yn mynd ato. 27A dyma fe'n dweud wrthyn nhw, “Dyma mae'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel, yn ei ddweud: ‘Gwisgwch eich cleddyfau! Ewch drwy'r gwersyll, o un pen i'r llall, a lladd eich brodyr, eich ffrindiau a'ch cymdogion!’” 28Dyma'r Lefiaid yn gwneud beth ddwedodd Moses, a cafodd tua tair mil o ddynion eu lladd y diwrnod hwnnw. 29Yna dyma Moses yn dweud, “Dych chi wedi cael eich ordeinio i wasanaethu'r Arglwydd heddiw. Am eich bod wedi bod yn fodlon troi yn erbyn mab neu frawd, mae'r Arglwydd wedi eich bendithio chi'n fawr heddiw.” 30Y diwrnod wedyn, dyma Moses yn dweud wrth y bobl, “Dych chi wedi pechu'n ofnadwy. Ond dw i am fynd yn ôl i fyny at yr Arglwydd. Falle y galla i wneud pethau'n iawn rhyngoch chi â Duw, iddo faddau i chi am eich pechod.” 31Felly dyma Moses yn mynd yn ôl at yr Arglwydd, a dweud, “Och! Mae'r bobl yma wedi pechu'n ofnadwy yn dy erbyn di. Maen nhw wedi gwneud duwiau o aur iddyn nhw eu hunain. 32Petaet ti ond yn maddau iddyn nhw … os na wnei di, dw i eisiau i ti ddileu fy enw i oddi ar dy restr.” 33Ond dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho, “Y person sydd wedi pechu yn fy erbyn i fydd yn cael ei ddileu oddi ar fy rhestr i. 34Felly, dos di yn dy flaen, ac arwain y bobl yma i'r lle dw i wedi dweud wrthot ti amdano. Edrych, bydd fy angel yn mynd o dy flaen di. Ond pan ddaw'r amser i mi gosbi, bydda i'n reit siŵr o'u cosbi nhw am eu pechod.” 35A dyma'r Arglwydd yn anfon pla ar y bobl am iddyn nhw wneud y tarw – yr un wnaeth Aaron.

How do I do a word study?
- What information can I find about a word?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
