Arestio Iesu
(Mathew 26:47-56; Marc 14:43-50; Luc 22:47-53) 1Ar ôl gorffen gweddïo, dyma Iesu'n croesi Dyffryn Cidron gyda'i ddisgyblion. Dyma nhw'n dod at ardd olewydd oedd yno ac yn mynd i mewn iddi. 2Roedd Jwdas, y bradwr, yn gwybod am y lle, am fod Iesu a'i ddisgyblion wedi cyfarfod yno lawer gwaith. 3Felly aeth Jwdas i'r ardd, gyda mintai o filwyr a swyddogion diogelwch wedi eu hanfon gan y prif offeiriaid a'r Phariseaid. Roedden nhw'n cario ffaglau a lanternau ac arfau. 4Roedd Iesu'n gwybod yn union beth oedd yn mynd i ddigwydd iddo, felly aeth atyn nhw a gofyn, “Am bwy dych chi'n edrych?” 5“Iesu o Nasareth,” medden nhw. “Fi ydy e,” meddai Iesu. (A dyna lle roedd Jwdas, y bradwr, yn sefyll yno gyda nhw!) 6Pan ddwedodd Iesu “Fi ydy e,” dyma nhw'n symud at yn ôl ac yn syrthio ar lawr. 7Gofynnodd iddyn nhw eto, “Pwy dych chi eisiau?” A dyma nhw'n dweud “Iesu o Nasareth.” 8“Dw i wedi dweud wrthoch chi mai fi ydy e,” meddai Iesu. “Felly os mai fi ydy'r un dych chi'n edrych amdano, gadewch i'r dynion hyn fynd yn rhydd.” 9(Er mwyn i beth ddwedodd e yn gynharach ddod yn wir: “Dw i ddim wedi colli neb o'r rhai roist ti i mi.”) 10Yna dyma Simon Pedr yn tynnu cleddyf allan ac yn taro gwas yr archoffeiriad, a thorri ei glust dde i ffwrdd. (Malchus oedd enw'r gwas.) 11“Cadw dy gleddyf!” meddai Iesu wrtho, “Wyt ti'n meddwl fy mod i ddim yn barod i ddioddef, ac yfed o'r cwpan ▼▼18:11 yfed o'r cwpan: Symbol o ddioddef.

Yna dyma'r disgybl oedd yr archoffeiriad yn ei nabod, yn mynd yn ôl ac yn perswadio'r ferch oedd yn cadw'r drws i adael Pedr i mewn. 17Ond meddai hi wrth Pedr, “Onid wyt ti'n un o ddisgyblion y dyn yna?” Ond dyma Pedr yn ateb, “Nac ydw.” 18Roedd hi'n oer, ac roedd y gweithwyr a'r swyddogion diogelwch yn sefyll o gwmpas tân golosg roedden nhw wedi ei gynnau i gadw'n gynnes. Felly dyma Pedr hefyd yn mynd i sefyll gyda nhw i gadw'n gynnes.Yr archoffeiriad yn holi Iesu

Doedd gen i ddim cyfrinachau. 21Pam wyt ti'n fy holi i? Hola'r bobl oedd yn gwrando arna i. Maen nhw'n gwybod beth dw i wedi ei ddweud.” 22Pan atebodd Iesu felly dyma un o'r swyddogion oedd yno yn ei daro ar draws ei wyneb. “Ai dyna sut wyt ti'n ateb yr archoffeiriad!” meddai. 23“Os dwedais i rywbeth o'i le,” meddai Iesu, “dywed wrth bawb beth. Ond os oedd beth ddwedais i yn iawn, pam wnest ti fy nharo i?” 24Yna anfonodd Annas e, yn dal wedi ei rwymo, at Caiaffas yr archoffeiriad.Pedr yn gwadu yr ail a'r drydedd waith

Aethon nhw ddim i mewn i'r pencadlys, am eu bod nhw ddim eisiau torri'r rheolau ynglŷn â glendid seremonïol; roedden nhw eisiau gallu bwyta swper y Pasg. 29Felly daeth Peilat allan atyn nhw a gofyn, “Beth ydy'r cyhuddiadau yn erbyn y dyn hwn?” 30“Fydden ni ddim wedi ei drosglwyddo i ti oni bai ei fod wedi troseddu,” medden nhw. 31“Felly cymerwch chi e,” meddai Peilat. “Defnyddiwch eich cyfraith eich hunain i'w farnu.” “Ond does gynnon ni mo'r awdurdod i'w ddedfrydu i farwolaeth,” medden nhw. 32(Digwyddodd hyn fel bod beth ddwedodd Iesu am y ffordd roedd yn mynd i farw yn dod yn wir.) 33Aeth Peilat yn ôl i mewn i'r palas, a galwodd Iesu i ymddangos o'i flaen a dweud wrtho, “Felly, ti ydy Brenin yr Iddewon, ie?” 34“Wyt ti'n gofyn ohonot ti dy hun,” meddai Iesu, “neu ai eraill sydd wedi dweud hyn amdana i?” 35“Dw i ddim yn Iddew!” atebodd Peilat. “Dy bobl di a'u prif offeiriaid sydd wedi dy drosglwyddo di i mi. Beth yn union wyt ti wedi ei wneud?” 36Atebodd Iesu, “Dydy nheyrnas i ddim yn dod o'r byd yma. Petai hi, byddai fy ngweision wedi ymladd yn galed i'm cadw i rhag cael fy arestio gan yr awdurdodau Iddewig. Mae fy nheyrnas i yn dod o rywle arall.” 37“Felly rwyt ti yn frenin!” meddai Peilat. Atebodd Iesu, “Ti sy'n defnyddio'r gair ‛brenin‛. Y rheswm pam ges i fy ngeni, a pham dw i wedi dod i'r byd ydy i dystio i beth sy'n wir go iawn. Mae pawb sydd ar ochr y gwir yn gwrando arna i.” 38“Beth ydy gwirionedd?” meddai Peilat.Dedfrydu Iesu i Farwolaeth

Ydych chi eisiau i mi ryddhau hwn, ‛Brenin yr Iddewon‛?” 40“Na!” medden nhw, gan weiddi eto, “Dim hwn. Barabbas dŷn ni eisiau!” (Terfysgwr oedd Barabbas.)

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
