Iesu'n dysgu Nicodemus
1Un noson ar ôl iddi dywyllu daeth un o'r arweinwyr Iddewig at Iesu. Pharisead o'r enw Nicodemus oedd y dyn. 2Meddai wrth Iesu, “Rabbi, dŷn ni'n gwybod dy fod di'n athro wedi ei anfon gan Dduw i'n dysgu ni. Mae'r gwyrthiau rwyt ti'n eu gwneud yn profi fod Duw gyda ti.” 3Dyma Iesu'n ymateb trwy ddweud hyn wrtho: “Cred di fi – all neb weld Duw'n teyrnasu heb fod wedi cael ei eni oddi uchod.” ▼▼3:3 oddi uchod: Neu o'r newydd. Mae'r un gair Groeg yn adn.7 a 31.
4“Sut gall unrhyw un gael ei eni pan mae'n oedolyn?” gofynnodd Nicodemus. “Allan nhw'n sicr ddim mynd i mewn i'r groth am yr ail waith i gael eu geni felly!” 5Atebodd Iesu, “Cred di fi, all neb brofi Duw'n teyrnasu heb fod wedi cael ei eni drwy ddŵr a drwy'r Ysbryd. 6Mae'r corff dynol yn rhoi genedigaeth i berson dynol, ond yr Ysbryd sy'n rhoi genedigaeth ysbrydol. 7Ddylet ti ddim synnu wrth i mi ddweud, ‘Rhaid i chi gael eich geni oddi uchod.’ 8Mae'r gwynt yn chwythu i bob cyfeiriad. Rwyt yn clywed ei sŵn, ond dwyt ti ddim yn gallu dweud o ble mae'n dod nag i ble mae'n mynd. Felly mae hi hefyd gyda phawb sydd wedi eu geni drwy'r Ysbryd.” 9“Sut mae hynny'n gallu digwydd?” gofynnodd Nicodemus. 10“Dyma ti,” meddai Iesu, “yr athro parchus yng ngolwg pobl Israel, a dwyt ti ddim yn deall! 11Cred di fi, dŷn ni'n siarad am beth dŷn ni'n ei wybod, ac yn dweud am beth dŷn ni wedi ei weld, ond dych chi ddim yn ein credu ni. 12Os dw i wedi siarad â chi am bethau sy'n digwydd ar y ddaear a dych chi ddim yn credu, sut byddwch chi'n credu os gwna i siarad am bethau'r byd nefol? 13Fi, Mab y Dyn ydy'r unig un sydd wedi dod o'r nefoedd, a does neb arall wedi mynd i'r nefoedd. 14Cododd Moses neidr bres ar bolyn yn yr anialwch. b Bydda i, Mab y Dyn, yn cael fy nghodi yr un fath. 15Bydd pawb sy'n credu ynof fi yn cael bywyd tragwyddol. 16“Ydy, mae Duw wedi caru'r byd cymaint nes iddo roi ei unig Fab, er mwyn i bwy bynnag sy'n credu ynddo beidio mynd i ddistryw ond cael bywyd tragwyddol. 17Oherwydd anfonodd Duw ei Fab i achub y byd, dim i gondemnio'r byd. 18Dydy'r rhai sy'n credu ynddo ddim yn cael eu condemnio. Ond mae'r rhai sydd ddim yn credu wedi eu condemnio eisoes, am eu bod nhw wedi gwrthod credu ym Mab unigryw Duw. 19Dyma'r dyfarniad: Mae golau wedi dod i'r byd, ond roedd pobl yn caru'r tywyllwch yn fwy na'r golau, am eu bod nhw'n gwneud drygioni o hyd. 20Mae pawb sy'n gwneud drygioni yn casáu'r golau. Maen nhw'n gwrthod dod allan i'r golau rhag ofn i'w gweithredoedd gael eu gweld. 21Ond mae'r rhai sy'n ufudd i'r gwirionedd yn dod allan i'r golau, ac mae'n amlwg mai Duw sy'n rhoi'r nerth iddyn nhw wneud beth sy'n iawn.” Tystiolaeth Ioan Fedyddiwr am Iesu
22Ar ôl hyn gadawodd Iesu a'i ddisgyblion Jerwsalem, a mynd i gefn gwlad Jwdea. Yno bu'n treulio amser gyda nhw, ac yn bedyddio pobl. 23Yr un pryd, roedd Ioan hefyd yn bedyddio yn Ainon ger Salim. Roedd digon o ddŵr yno, ac roedd pobl yn mynd ato yn gyson i gael eu bedyddio. 24(Roedd hyn cyn i Ioan gael ei garcharu.) 25Dechreuodd rhyw arweinydd Iddewig ddadlau gyda disgyblion Ioan Fedyddiwr am y ddefod o ymolchi seremonïol. ▼▼3:25 ymolchi seremonïol: Roedd yr Iddewon yn cadw'r defodau yma i baratoi eu hunain ar gyfer addoli Duw.
26Dyma disgyblion Ioan yn dod ato a dweud wrtho, “Rabbi, wyt ti'n gwybod y dyn oedd gyda ti yr ochr draw i Afon Iorddonen – yr un rwyt ti wedi bod yn sôn amdano? Wel, mae e'n bedyddio hefyd, ac y mae pawb yn mynd ato fe.” 27Atebodd Ioan, “Dim ond gwneud y gwaith mae Duw wedi ei roi iddo mae rhywun yn gallu wneud. 28Dych chi'n gallu tystio fy mod i wedi dweud, ‘Dim fi ydy'r Meseia. Dw i wedi cael fy anfon o'i flaen e.’ 29Mae'r briodferch yn mynd at y priodfab. Mae'r gwas priodas yn edrych ymlaen at hynny, ac mae wrth ei fodd pan mae'n digwydd. A dyna pam dw i'n wirioneddol hapus. 30Rhaid iddo fe ddod i'r amlwg; rhaid i mi fynd o'r golwg.” Yr un ddaeth o'r nefoedd
31Daeth Iesu o'r nefoedd, ac mae uwchlaw pawb arall. Mae unrhyw berson daearol yn siarad fel un sydd o'r ddaear. Ond mae Iesu uwchlaw popeth. 32Mae'n dweud am beth mae wedi ei weld a'i glywed yn y nefoedd, a does neb yn ei gredu! 33Ond mae'r rhai sydd yn credu yn hollol sicr fod Duw yn dweud y gwir. 34Oherwydd mae Iesu yn dweud yn union beth mae Duw'n ei ddweud. Mae Duw'n rhoi'r Ysbryd iddo heb ddal dim yn ôl. 35Mae Duw y Tad yn caru'r Mab ac wedi rhoi popeth yn ei ofal e. 36Mae bywyd tragwyddol gan bawb sy'n credu yn y Mab, ond fydd y rhai sy'n gwrthod y Mab ddim hyd yn oed yn cael cipolwg o'r bywyd hwnnw. Bydd digofaint Duw yn aros arnyn nhw.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
