Concro'r Canaaneaid
1Dyma frenin Canaaneaidd Arad, oedd yn byw yn y Negef, yn clywed fod Israel yn dod ar y ffordd i Atharîm. Felly dyma fe'n ymosod arnyn nhw, ac yn cymryd rhai o bobl Israel yn gaeth. 2Dyma bobl Israel yn gwneud adduned i'r Arglwydd, “Os gwnei di'n helpu ni i goncro'r bobl yma, gwnawn ni ddinistrio eu trefi nhw'n llwyr ▼▼21:2 dinistrio … yn llwyr Y syniad yma oedd nad oedden nhw'n cadw dim, nac yn elwa o gwbl.
.” 3Dyma'r Arglwydd yn ateb eu gweddi nhw, a dyma nhw'n concro'r Canaaneaid a dinistrio eu trefi nhw'n llwyr. A dyma nhw'n galw'r lle yn Horma (sef ‛Dinistr‛). Y neidr bres

Plîs gweddïa y bydd yr Arglwydd yn cymryd y nadroedd yma i ffwrdd.” Felly dyma Moses yn gweddïo dros y bobl. 8A dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, “Gwna ddelw o neidr, a'i chodi ar bolyn. Wedyn, pan fydd rhywun sydd wedi ei frathu yn edrych arni, bydd yn cael byw.” 9Felly dyma Moses yn gwneud neidr bres a'i chodi ar bolyn. Wedyn os oedd neidr yn brathu rhywun, pan fyddai'r person hwnnw'n edrych ar y neidr bres byddai'n cael byw. O Fynydd Hor i Ddyffryn Moab
10Dyma bobl Israel yn cychwyn yn eu blaenau eto, ac yn gwersylla yn Oboth. 11Yna gadael Oboth a gwersylla yn Ïe-hafarîm yn yr anialwch i'r dwyrain o Moab. 12Yna mynd yn eu blaenau eto a gwersylla yn Wadi Sered. 13Wedyn mynd yn eu blaenau a gwersylla yr ochr draw i Arnon, yn yr anialwch sy'n ymestyn o'r ardaloedd ble mae'r Amoriaid yn byw. Mae Arnon ar ffin Moab, yn y canol rhwng Moab a'r Amoriaid. 14Mae Llyfr Rhyfeloedd yr Arglwydd yn cyfeirio at y lle fel yma: “Tref Waheb yn Swffa, a wadïau Arnon,15a llethrau'r ceunentydd sy'n ymestyn i Ar,
ar y ffin gyda Moab.”
16Teithio wedyn i Beër (sef ‛Y Ffynnon‛), lle dwedodd yr Arglwydd wrth Moses, “Casgla'r bobl at ei gilydd, a gwna i roi dŵr iddyn nhw.” 17Yna dyma bobl Israel yn canu'r gân yma, “Ffrydia ffynnon! Canwch iddi!
18Ffynnon agorodd tywysogion,
wedi ei chloddio gyda theyrnwialennau
a ffyn yr arweinwyr.”
A dyma nhw'n teithio o'r anialwch i Mattana. 19Yna ymlaen i Nachaliel, yna Bamoth, 20ac yna'r dyffryn ar dir Moab, lle mae copa Pisga ▼

(Deuteronomium 2:26—3:11) 21Dyma Israel yn anfon negeswyr at Sihon, brenin yr Amoriaid, i ofyn iddo: 22“Wnei di roi caniatâd i ni groesi dy dir di? Wnawn ni ddim niwed i unrhyw gnydau na gwinllannoedd, na hyd yn oed yfed dŵr o unrhyw ffynnon. Byddwn ni'n cadw ar Briffordd y Brenin yr holl ffordd, nes byddwn ni wedi croesi'r ffin yr ochr arall.” 23Ond gwrthododd Sihon adael i bobl Israel groesi ei dir. Casglodd ei fyddin at ei gilydd, ac ymosod ar Israel yn Iahats yn yr anialwch. 24Ond Israel wnaeth ennill y frwydr, a dyma nhw'n cymryd eu tir oddi arnyn nhw, o Geunant Arnon i Ryd Jabboc, a'r holl ffordd at ffin yr Ammoniaid. Roedd y ffin honno wedi ei hamddiffyn, ac yn gwbl ddiogel. 25Dyma Israel yn concro trefi'r Amoriaid i gyd, a setlo ynddyn nhw, gan gynnwys dinas Cheshbon ei hun a'r pentrefi o'i chwmpas. 26Cheshbon oedd dinas Sihon brenin yr Amoriaid. Ac roedd Sihon wedi concro brenin Moab a chymryd ei dir oddi arno, yr holl ffordd at Afon Arnon. 27Dyna pam mae'r baledwyr yn dweud, “Dewch i Cheshbon, dinas Sihon,i'w hadfer a'i hailadeiladu.
28Roedd tân yn llosgi yn Cheshbon –
fflamau o dref y Brenin Sihon.
Mae wedi llosgi Ar yn Moab
ac arweinwyr ucheldir Arnon.
29Mae hi ar ben arnat ti, Moab!
Dych chi bobl sy'n addoli Chemosh wedi'ch difa.
Mae eich meibion yn ffoaduriaid,
a'ch merched wedi eu cymryd yn gaethion,
gan Sihon, brenin yr Amoriaid.
30Dŷn ni wedi eu difa nhw'n llwyr
o Cheshbon yr holl ffordd i Dibon.
Dŷn ni wedi eu taro nhw i lawr
yr holl ffordd i Noffa a Medeba.”
31Felly roedd pobl Israel yn byw yng ngwlad yr Amoriaid. 32Dyma Moses yn anfon ysbiwyr i edrych ar dref Iaser. A dyma nhw'n dal y pentrefi yno, a gyrru allan yr Amoriaid oedd yn byw yno. 33Wedyn dyma nhw'n troi i'r gogledd, ac yn mynd i gyfeiriad Bashan. A dyma Og brenin Bashan yn dod â'i fyddin gyfan i ymladd yn eu herbyn nhw yn Edrei. 34Ond dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, “Paid bod â'i ofn. Dw i'n mynd i roi Og a'i fyddin a'i dir i gyd i ti. Byddi'n gwneud yr un fath iddo fe ag a wnest ti i Sihon brenin yr Amoriaid oedd yn byw yn Cheshbon.” 35Felly dyma Israel yn ennill y frwydr yn erbyn Og a'i feibion a'i fyddin. How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
