Numbers 16:1-40
1Dyma Cora fab Its'har (oedd yn ŵyr i Cohath fab Lefi), gyda Dathan ac Abiram (meibion Eliab) ac On fab Peleth, o lwyth Reuben, yn codi i fyny a 2gwrthryfela yn erbyn Moses, gyda dau gant a hanner o arweinwyr eraill – dynion enwog. 3A dyma nhw'n mynd gyda'i gilydd i wynebu Moses ac Aaron, a dweud wrthyn nhw, “Dych chi wedi mynd yn rhy bell. Mae'r bobl i gyd wedi eu cysegru – pob un ohonyn nhw! Ac mae'r Arglwydd gyda nhw. Pam ydych chi'n gwneud eich hunain yn bwysicach na gweddill pobl yr Arglwydd?” 4Pan glywodd Moses hyn dyma fe'n mynd ar ei wyneb ar lawr. 5Ac wedyn dyma fe'n dweud wrth Cora a'i ddilynwyr, “Yn y bore bydd yr Arglwydd yn dangos pwy ydy'r person mae e wedi ei ddewis a'i gysegru. Bydd yn gadael i'r person hwnnw fynd yn agos ato, i sefyll yn ei bresenoldeb. 6Felly, Cora a'r criw sydd gyda ti, dyma beth sydd raid i chi ei wneud: Cymryd padellau tân, 7eu tanio, a llosgi arogldarth arnyn nhw o flaen yr Arglwydd. Cawn weld wedyn pwy mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei ddewis a'i gysegru! Chi Lefiaid ydy'r rhai sydd wedi mynd yn rhy bell!” 8A dyma Moses yn dweud wrth Cora, “Chi Lefiaid, gwrandwch arna i! 9Ydy e ddim digon i chi fod Duw Israel wedi'ch dewis chi o blith holl bobl Israel i fod yn agos ato wrth i chi weithio yn y Tabernacl, ac i sefyll o flaen y bobl a'i gwasanaethu nhw? 10Mae e wedi rhoi'r gwaith sbesial yma i chi ac i'ch brodyr, y Lefiaid eraill. A nawr, dyma chi, eisiau bod yn offeiriaid hefyd! 11Yr Arglwydd ydy'r un dych chi wedi codi yn ei erbyn go iawn! Pwy ydy Aaron i chi gwyno amdano?” 12Yna dyma Moses yn galw am Dathan ac Abiram, meibion Eliab. Ond dyma nhw'n dweud, “Na, dŷn ni ddim am ddod. 13Nid peth bach ydy'r ffaith dy fod ti wedi dod â ni o wlad ffrwythlon, gwlad lle mae llaeth a mêl yn llifo, allan i'r anialwch yma i farw! A dyma ti nawr yn actio'r tywysog ac yn meddwl mai ti ydy'r bòs! 14Y gwir ydy, dwyt ti ddim wedi'n harwain ni i wlad lle mae llaeth a mêl yn llifo, na wedi rhoi tir a gwinllannoedd i ni. Wyt ti'n meddwl fod y dynion yma'n ddall neu rywbeth? Felly, dŷn ni ddim am ddod atat ti.” 15Roedd Moses wedi gwylltio'n lân, a dyma fe'n dweud wrth yr Arglwydd, “Paid derbyn eu hoffrymau nhw! Dw i ddim wedi cymryd cyn lleied ag un mul oddi arnyn nhw, na gwneud dim i frifo run ohonyn nhw!” 16Yna dyma Moses yn dweud wrth Cora, “Dos di a'r rhai sydd gyda ti i sefyll o flaen yr Arglwydd yfory – ti, a nhw, ac Aaron hefyd 17Dylai pob un ohonoch chi fynd gyda'i badell dân, rhoi arogldarth ynddi, a'i gyflwyno i'r Arglwydd: dau gant a hanner i gyd, a ti dy hun, ac Aaron – pawb gyda'i badell dân.” 18Felly dyma pawb yn mynd gyda'i badell, ac yna ei thanio a rhoi arogldarth arni, a sefyll wrth y fynedfa i Babell Presenoldeb Duw, gyda Moses ac Aaron. 19Dyna lle roedd Cora a'i ddilynwyr i gyd yn sefyll yn erbyn Moses ac Aaron o flaen Pabell Presenoldeb Duw. A dyma'r bobl i gyd yn gweld ysblander yr Arglwydd. 20A dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses ac Aaron: 21“Symudwch i ffwrdd oddi wrth y criw yma, i mi eu dinistrio nhw yn y fan a'r lle!” 22Ond dyma Moses ac Aaron yn plygu a'i hwynebau ar lawr, “O Dduw, y Duw sy'n rhoi bywyd i bopeth byw, wyt ti'n mynd i ddigio gyda pawb pan mae un dyn yn pechu?” 23A dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses, 24“Dywed wrth y bobl am symud i ffwrdd oddi wrth bebyll Cora, Dathan ac Abiram.” 25Yna dyma Moses yn codi ar ei draed a mynd at Dathan ac Abiram. A dyma arweinwyr Israel yn mynd gydag e. 26A dyma Moses yn dweud wrth y bobl, “Symudwch i ffwrdd oddi wrth bebyll y dynion drwg yma. Peidiwch cyffwrdd dim byd sydd piau nhw, rhag i chi gael eich ysgubo i ffwrdd gyda nhw am eu bod wedi pechu.” 27Felly dyma pawb yn symud i ffwrdd oddi wrth bebyll Cora, Dathan ac Abiram. Erbyn hyn roedd Dathan ac Abiram wedi dod allan, ac yn sefyll wrth fynedfa eu pebyll gyda'i gwragedd a'i plant a'i babis bach. 28A dyma Moses yn dweud, “Byddwch yn gwybod, nawr, mai'r Arglwydd sydd wedi fy anfon i wneud y pethau yma i gyd, ac mai nid fi gafodd y syniad. 29Os fydd y dynion yma'n marw'n naturiol fel pawb arall, dydy'r Arglwydd ddim wedi fy anfon i. 30Ond os fydd yr Arglwydd yn gwneud rhywbeth annisgwyl, a'r ddaear yn eu llyncu nhw a'i heiddo i gyd – os byddan nhw'n syrthio'n fyw i'w bedd – byddwch yn gwybod wedyn fod y dynion yma wedi sarhau yr Arglwydd!” 31Ar ôl i Moses ddweud hyn, dyma'r ddaear yn hollti oddi tanyn nhw. 32A dyma nhw a'i teuluoedd, a phobl Cora, a'i heiddo i gyd yn cael eu llyncu gan y tir. 33Dyma nhw, a popeth oedd ganddyn nhw, yn syrthio'n fyw i'r bedd. Wedyn dyma'r ddaear yn cau drostyn nhw, ac roedden nhw wedi diflannu. 34Wrth eu clywed nhw'n sgrechian, dyma bobl Israel, oedd o'u cwmpas, yn rhedeg am eu bywydau am eu bod ofn i'r ddaear eu llyncu nhw hefyd. 35A dyma dân yn dod oddi wrth yr Arglwydd a lladd y dau gant pum deg oedd yn llosgi arogldarth.Y padellau tân
36Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses: 37“Dywed wrth Eleasar fab Aaron, yr offeiriad, i gasglu'r padellau o'r tân, am eu bod nhw'n gysegredig. Yna dywed wrtho am daflu'r tân oedd ynddyn nhw yn bell i ffwrdd. 38Roedd y dynion yma wedi pechu, ac fe gostiodd eu bywydau iddyn nhw. Mae'r padellau tân oedd ganddyn nhw yn gysegredig am eu bod wedi eu cyflwyno i'r Arglwydd. Felly rhaid eu morthwylio i wneud gorchudd metel i'r allor. Byddan nhw'n arwydd i rybuddio pobl Israel i beidio gwrthryfela.” 39Felly dyma Eleasar yr offeiriad yn casglu'r padellau oedd wedi eu defnyddio gan y rhai gafodd eu lladd yn y tân, a dyma nhw'n cael eu curo gyda morthwylion i wneud gorchudd i'r allor. 40Roedd y gorchudd yn arwydd i rybuddio pobl Israel na ddylai neb oedd ddim yn perthyn i deulu Aaron losgi arogldarth i'r Arglwydd. Neu byddai'r un peth yn digwydd iddyn nhw ac a ddigwyddodd i Cora a'i ddilynwyr. Felly cafodd beth ddwedodd yr Arglwydd wrth Moses ei wneud.Aaron yn achub y bobl

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
