3Pavel mu řekl: „Tebe bude bít Bůh, ty obílená ▼▼Mt 23,27
stěno. Ty zde sedíš, abys mě soudil podle Zákona, a proti Zákonu ▼▼Dt 25,1n; J 7,51
poroučíš, abych byl bit?“ 4Ti, kdo stáli poblíž, řekli: „Ty tupíš Božího velekněze?“ 5Pavel řekl: „Nevěděl jsem, bratři, že je veleknězem. Vždyť je napsáno: 'Vládci svého lidu nebudeš zlořečit.' ▼▼Ex 22,27[28]

“ 7Když to řekl, nastala hádka mezi farizeji a saduceji a shromáždění ▼▼ř.: to množství

ze strany farizeů povstali a začali prudce namítat: „Nenacházíme na tomto člověku nic zlého. ▼▼23,29

“ 10Hádka se zvětšovala a velitel dostal strach, aby Pavla nerozsápali. Rozkázal vojákům, aby sešli dolů, vyrvali ho z jejich středu a odvedli do kasáren. 11Následující noci ▼▼18,9; 27,23
se k němu postavil Pán a řekl: „Buď statečný! ▼▼var.: + Pavle
Jako jsi o mně svědčil v Jeruzalémě, tak musíš svědčit i v Římě.“ ▼▼19,21
12Plán na zabití Pavla
Když nastal den, [někteří] Židé se spikli a zapřisáhli, že nebudou jíst ani pít, dokud Pavla nezabijí. ▼▼9,23
13Těch, kdo se takto spikli, bylo více než čtyřicet. 14Ti přišli k velekněžím a starším a řekli: „Slavnostně jsme se zapřisáhli, že ničeho neokusíme, dokud Pavla nezabijeme. 15Tak vy nyní spolu s veleradou ohlašte veliteli, aby ho k vám přivedl, že se chystáte jeho záležitost důkladněji vyšetřit. A my jsme připraveni zabít ho dříve, než se k vám přiblíží.“ 16O tomto úkladu však uslyšel syn Pavlovy ⌈sestry. Přišel a vešel⌉ ▼▼n.: sestry, který (tam) přišel. Vešel …
do kasáren a oznámil to Pavlovi. 17Pavel si zavolal jednoho ze setníků a řekl: „Tohoto mladíka zaveď k veliteli. Má mu co oznámit.“ 18On ho tedy vzal s sebou, zavedl k veliteli a řekl: „Vězeň ▼▼28,17; Ef 3,1
Pavel si mě zavolal a požádal, abych tohoto mladíka zavedl k tobě, protože ti má něco říci.“ 19Velitel ho vzal za ruku, odešel s ním stranou a vyptával se: „Co je to, co mi máš oznámit?“ 20On řekl: „Židé se domluvili, ▼▼J 9,22
že tě požádají, abys zítra odvedl Pavla do velerady, jako by chtěli ▼▼var.: chtěla
něco v jeho případě důkladněji vyšetřit. 21Ale ty jim nevěř, ▼▼ř.: Nedej se jimi přesvědčit
neboť více než čtyřicet mužů z nich na něho číhá; zapřisáhli se totiž, že nebudou jíst ani pít, dokud ho nezabijí, a nyní jsou připraveni a čekají jen na tvůj souhlas. ▼▼ř.: příslib
“ 22Velitel mladíka propustil a nařídil mu: „Nikomu nevyzraď, žes mi to ohlásil. ▼▼v. 15; Est 2,22
“ 23Pavel přemístěn do Cesareje
Pak zavolal dva ze svých setníků a řekl jim: „Připravte na devátou hodinu večer ▼▼ř.: na třetí hodinu noci
dvě stě vojáků, aby šli do Cesareje, ▼▼8,40
také sedmdesát jezdců a dvě stě lehkooděnců. ▼▼[HL; vojenský termín nejistého významu]
24Ať připraví mezky, aby na ně posadili Pavla a bezpečně ho dopravili k místodržiteli ▼▼[tj. prokurátor či prefekt v Judsku, jako předtím Pilát (Mt 27,2) a Festus (24,27p)]
Félixovi. ▼▼[Císař Claudius ho ustanovil v r. 52. Nežli se stal vysokým vládním úředníkem, byl osvobozeným otrokem. Tacitus o něm napsal: „Liboval si v krutostech a požitcích. 28Chtěl jsem se dozvědět, z čeho jej obviňují, a proto jsem [ho] odvedl do jejich velerady. 29Shledal jsem, že je obviňován kvůli sporným otázkám ▼▼18,15; 25,19; 26,3

nebo vězení. 30Protože mi bylo oznámeno, že [Židé] proti tomuto muži chystají úklady, posílám ho hned k tobě. Také žalobcům jsem nařídil, aby to, co mají proti němu, řekli před tebou. [Buď zdráv.]“ ▼▼15,29
31Vojáci tedy, podle toho, jak jim bylo nařízeno, vzali Pavla a zavedli ho v noci do Antipatridy. ▼▼[Město asi 55 km SZ od Jeruzaléma (napůl cesty do Cesaree); přestavěl ho Herodes Veliký a pojmenoval podle svého otce]
32Druhého dne nechali jezdce s ním odjet a sami se vrátili do kasáren. 33Jezdci přijeli do Cesareje, odevzdali dopis místodržiteli a postavili před něho i Pavla. 34Přečetl dopis a zeptal se, ze které je provincie. Když se dověděl, že z Kilikie, ▼▼21,39
35řekl: „Vyslechnu tě, až přijdou také tvoji žalobci.“ A rozkázal, aby ho hlídali v Herodově paláci. ▼▼[Postaven Herodem jako královské sídlo, nyní byl užíván jako římské pretórium — místo úředních jednání císaře a sídlo osob přímo zodpovědných císaři; (srv. J 18,28; Fp 1,13)]

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
