ostřím meče, až je vyhladili. Neponechali z nich žádného, kdo dýchal. 15Jak to přikázal Hospodin svému otroku Mojžíšovi, tak přikázal Mojžíš Jozuovi a Jozue tak učinil. Neubral ▼▼srv. Mt 5,18n; Zj 22,18n

aby vyvolali válku s Izraelem, aby na ně uvalil klatbu, ⌈aby pro ně nebylo smilování, aby⌉ ▼▼n.: aby neměli prosbu o smilování; srv. 6,25; 9,9.20n.26; Gn 15,16; Ex 9,12; Ř 2,4—11; 10,13; [tj. (1) aby se nesnížili k prosbě o milost, nedokázali o ni prosit, tedy Bůh jim dal sílu, aby odolali pokušení vyjednávat o míru, a tak využil jejich vlastní tvrdosti, aby s nimi mohl skoncovat, nebo (2) aby neměli jeho přízeň, nebo (3) aby nedošli smilování od Izraele]
je vyhladil, jak to Hospodin přikázal Mojžíšovi. 21V onen čas přišel Jozue a vyhladil Anákovce z pohoří, z Chebrónu, z Debíru, z Anábu, z celého judského pohoří a z celého izraelského pohoří. Jozue je zasvětil zkáze spolu s jejich městy. 22V zemi synů Izraele nezbyl žádný z Anákovců, zůstali pouze v Gaze, ▼▼Sd 1,18p
v Gatu ▼▼1S 5,8

23Jozue zabral celou tu zemi podle všech slov, která Hospodin promluvil ▼▼Joz 1,3

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
