1Juudan kuninkaan Jooaan, Ahasjan pojan, kahdentenakymmenentenä kolmantena hallitusvuotena tuli Jooahas, Jeehun poika, Israelin kuninkaaksi, ja hän hallitsi Samariassa seitsemäntoista vuotta. 2Ja hän teki sitä, mikä on pahaa Herran silmissä, ja vaelsi Jerobeamin, Nebatin pojan, synneissä, joilla tämä oli saattanut Israelin tekemään syntiä; hän ei luopunut niistä. 3Niin Herran viha syttyi Israelia kohtaan, ja hän antoi heidät Hasaelin, Aramin kuninkaan, ja Benhadadin, Hasaelin pojan, käsiin koko siksi ajaksi. 4Mutta Jooahas lepytti Herraa, ja Herra kuuli häntä, sillä hän näki Israelin sorron, kun Aramin kuningas sorti heitä. 5Ja Herra antoi Israelille vapauttajan, ja he pääsivät aramilaisten käsistä. Ja mooabilaisten partiojoukkoja tuli maahan vuosi vuodelta. 21Ja kerran, kun he haudatessaan erästä miestä näkivät partiojoukon, heittivät he miehen Elisan hautaan ja menivät matkoihinsa. Kun mies kosketti Elisan luita, virkosi hän ja nousi jaloilleen. 22Hasael, Aramin kuningas, sorti Israelia, niin kauan kuin Jooahas eli. 23Mutta Herra oli heille laupias, armahti heitä ja kääntyi heidän puoleensa liiton tähden, jonka hän oli tehnyt Aabrahamin, Iisakin ja Jaakobin kanssa. How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
