inmitten der Teppiche. 3Und Nathan sprach zum König: Gehe hin, tue alles, was in deinem Herzen ist; denn Jehovah ist mit dir. 4Und es geschah in selbiger Nacht, daß Jehovahs Wort an Nathan geschah, und Er sprach: 5Gehe hin und sprich zu Meinem Knechte, zu David: So spricht Jehovah: Solltest du Mir ein Haus bauen, darin zu wohnen ▼▼sitzen

seit dem Tage, da Ich die Söhne Israels aus Ägypten heraufgeführt, und bis auf diesen Tag, und wandelte umher in dem Zelt und in der Wohnung. 7Wo immer Ich umherzog unter allen Söhnen Israels, habe Ich je ein Wort geredet zu einem der Stämme ▼▼Ruten
Israel, dem Ich gebot, Mein Volk Israel zu weiden und gesagt: Warum habt ihr Mir nicht ein Haus von Zedern gebaut? 8Und nun sollst du zu Meinem Knechte, zu David, also sprechen: So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Ich habe dich genommen von der Hürde hinter den Schafen weg, auf daß du solltest ein Führer sein über Mein Volk, über Israel. 9Und Ich war mit dir wo immer du gingst, habe alle deine Feinde vor dir ausgerottet und dir einen großen Namen gemacht, wie der Name der Großen auf der Erde. 10Und Ich habe Meinem Volke Israel einen Ort gesetzt und ihn gepflanzt, auf daß es an seiner Stelle wohne und nicht mehr zittere, und die Söhne der Verkehrtheit es nicht mehr drücken wie früher; 11Und von dem Tage an, daß Ich Richter über Mein Volk Israel entbot und dir Ruhe von allen deinen Feinden verschafft habe, sagt dir Jehovah an, daß dir Jehovah ein Haus machen will. 12Wenn deine Tage voll sind, und du bei deinen Vätern liegst, will Ich deinen Samen nach dir, der aus deinen Eingeweiden ausgeht, bestätigen und sein Königtum befestigen. 13Er soll Meinem Namen ein Haus bauen, und Ich will den Thron seines Königshauses befestigen in Ewigkeit. 14Ich will ihm zum Vater sein, und er soll Mir zum Sohn sein. So er verkehrt handelt, werde Ich ihn strafen mit der Rute der Männer und mit Plagen der Menschensöhne. 15Aber Meine Barmherzigkeit soll nicht von ihm abweichen, wie sie abwich von Saul, den Ich vor dir weggetan. 16Aber dein Haus und dein Königtum soll bewährt sein vor dir in Ewigkeit. Dein Thron soll befestigt sein in Ewigkeit. 17Nach allen diesen Worten und nach all diesem Gesichte, also redete Nathan zu David. 18Und der König David kam und saß vor Jehovah und sprach: Wer bin ich, Herr, Jehovah, und was ist mein Haus, daß Du mich bis hierher gebracht hast! 19Und noch zu klein war das in deinen Augen, Herr, Jehovah, und Du redest auch über das Haus Deines Knechtes in der Ferne; aber solches ist nach dem Gesetze der Menschen, Herr, Jehovah! 20Und was soll David noch weiter ▼▼hinzutun zu reden
zu Dir? Du kennst ja Deinen Knecht, Herr, Jehovah. 21Um Deines Wortes willen und nach Deinem Herzen hast Du all das Große getan, auf daß Du sie Deinen Knecht wissen ließest. 22Darum bist Du groß, Jehovah, Gott; denn keiner ist wie Du, und kein Gott ist außer Dir, nach alle dem, was wir mit unseren Ohren gehört. 23Und wo ist eine Völkerschaft auf Erden wie Dein Volk, wie Israel, das sich zum Volke einzulösen Gott ist hingegangen, und daß Er Sich einen Namen setze, und Du für Dich ▼▼für Euch
Großes und Furchtbares für Dein Land vor Deinem Volke getan, das Du Dir aus Ägypten, den Völkerschaften und deren Göttern eingelöst hast. 24Und Du hast Dir Dein Volk Israel in Ewigkeit zum Volke bereitet, und Du, Jehovah, bist ihnen zum Gott geworden. 25Und nun, Jehovah, Gott, laß das Wort, das Du über Deinen Knecht und über sein Haus geredet hast, bestätigt werden in Ewigkeit, und tue, wie Du geredet hast. 26Und groß wird sein Dein Name in Ewigkeit, daß man spreche: Jehovah der Heerscharen ist Gott über Israel, und daß das Haus Deines Knechtes David vor Dir befestigt sei. 27Denn Du, Jehovah der Heerscharen, Gott Israels, hast dem Ohre Deines Knechtes geoffenbart und gesagt: Ein Haus will Ich dir bauen. Darum hat Dein Knecht sein Herz gefunden, dies Gebet zu Dir zu beten. 28Und nun, Herr, Jehovah, Du bist der Gott, und Deine Worte werden Wahrheit sein, und Du hast Deinem Knechte solch Gutes geredet. 29Und nun laß Dir gefallen, daß Du segnest das Haus Deines Knechtes, auf daß er vor Dir sei in Ewigkeit; denn Du, Herr, Jehovah, hast es geredet und mit Deinem Segen soll das Haus Deines Knechtes gesegnet werden in Ewigkeit.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
