Di Ikonium dan Listra
1 Di Ikonium, Paulus dan Barnabas bersama-sama pergi ke rumah ibadat dan berkhotbah dengan kuasa sedemikian rupa, hingga baik orang Yahudi maupun orang bukan Yahudi banyak yang percaya.2Tetapi orang-orang Yahudi yang menolak firman Allah menghasut orang-orang bukan Yahudi serta memburuk-burukkan Paulus dan Barnabas. 3Sekalipun demikian, kedua rasul itu lama tinggal di sana dan mengajar dengan berani, dan Tuhan membuktikan kuasa untuk melakukan mukjizat. 4Tetapi penduduk berbeda pendapat mengenai mereka. Sebagian setuju dengan para pemimpin Yahudi, sebagian lagi mendukung kedua rasul itu.
5– 6Ketika Paulus dan Barnabas mengetahui adanya komplotan yang hendak menghasut dan menggerakkan orang-orang bukan Yahudi, orang-orang Yahudi, dan para pemimpin mereka untuk menyerang serta merajam mereka, kedua rasul itu menyelamatkan diri ke Listra dan Derbe di Likaonia dan daerah sekitarnya. 7Di sana mereka mengabarkan Berita Kesukaan.
8Ketika berada di Listra, mereka bertemu dengan seseorang yang kakinya lumpuh sejak lahir sehingga tidak pernah dapat berjalan. 9Ia mendengarkan Paulus berbicara, dan Paulus melihat dia serta menyadari bahwa orang itu mempunyai iman untuk dapat disembuhkan. 10Oleh karena itu, Paulus berseru kepadanya, “Berdirilah!” dan orang itu melompat, lalu berjalan!
11Ketika orang-orang yang sedang mendengarkan melihat apa yang telah dilakukan oleh Paulus, mereka berseru dalam bahasa daerah, “Orang-orang ini dewa dalam rupa manusia!” 12Mereka mengambil kesimpulan bahwa Barnabas adalah Zeus, sedangkan Paulus adalah Hermes, karena dialah yang berbicara. 13Imam Dewa Zeus, yang kuilnya terletak di pinggir kota, membawa karangan-karangan bunga dan bersiap-siap untuk mempersembahkan lembu-lembu jantan sebagai kurban kepada mereka di hadapan orang banyak di pintu gerbang kota.
14Tetapi, ketika Barnabas dan Paulus melihat apa yang sedang terjadi, mereka merobek-robek pakaian mereka serta lari ke tengah-tengah orang banyak sambil berseru, 15“Saudara-saudara sekalian, apa yang sedang Saudara lakukan ini? Kami hanyalah manusia biasa seperti Saudara! Kami datang mengabarkan Berita Kesukaan, supaya Saudara jangan lagi menyembah berhala yang sia-sia ini, melainkan menyembah Allah yang hidup yang menciptakan langit, bumi serta laut, dan segala isinya. 16Pada masa dahulu Ia membiarkan semua bangsa mengikuti jalannya masing-masing. 17Tetapi Ia senantiasa menyatakan diri-Nya dengan perbuatan-perbuatan baik, misalnya menurunkan hujan, menghasilkan panen yang baik bagi Saudara, dan memberi makanan serta kegembiraan kepada Saudara.”
18Sekalipun demikian, Paulus dan Barnabas hampir-hampir tidak dapat mencegah orang banyak mempersembahkan kurban kepada mereka.
Kembali ke Antiokhia
19Tetapi beberapa hari kemudian datanglah orang-orang Yahudi dari Antiokhia dan Ikonium dan mereka menghasut orang banyak, sehingga mereka merajam Paulus, lalu menyeretnya ke luar kota, karena mengira ia sudah mati. 20Tetapi sementara orang-orang percaya berdiri mengerumuninya, ia bangkit dan kembali ke kota.Keesokan harinya berangkatlah ia bersama-sama dengan Barnabas ke Derbe. 21Setelah mengabarkan Berita Kesukaan di sana dan memperoleh banyak murid, mereka kembali ke Listra, Ikonium, dan Antiokhia, 22dan di tempat itu mereka mendorong orang-orang percaya untuk tetap teguh dalam iman. Kedua rasul itu menganjurkan agar mereka tetap beriman, walau mengalami banyak penganiayaan sekalipun, sambil mengingatkan bahwa mereka harus memasuki Kerajaan Allah dengan mengalami banyak sengsara. 23Paulus dan Barnabas mengangkat penatua-penatua di setiap jemaat dan dengan berdoa serta berpuasa menyerahkan mereka ke dalam pemeliharaan Tuhan yang mereka percayai.
24Kemudian mereka mengadakan perjalanan pulang melalui Pisidia ke Pamfilia, 25dan setelah mengabarkan Berita Kesukaan di Perga, mereka berangkat ke Atalia.
26Akhirnya mereka berlayar ke Antiokhia, tempat mereka memulai perjalanan dan juga tempat mereka diserahkan kepada Allah bagi pekerjaan yang sekarang telah diselesaikan.
27Setibanya di sana, mereka menghimpun orang-orang percaya dan melaporkan perjalanan mereka serta menceritakan bagaimana Allah telah membuka pintu iman bagi orang-orang bukan Yahudi. 28Lama mereka tinggal di Antiokhia bersama-sama dengan orang-orang yang percaya.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
