Petrus dan Yohanes menyembuhkan orang lumpuh
1 Pada suatu petang Petrus dan Yohanes pergi ke Bait Allah untuk menghadiri persekutuan doa yang setiap hari diadakan pada jam tiga. 2Ketika mereka hampir tiba di Bait Allah, mereka melihat seorang laki-laki yang lumpuh sejak lahir. Ia diusung dan diletakkan di sisi pintu gerbang Bait Allah, yang bernama Gerbang Indah, sebagaimana biasanya setiap hari. 3Ketika ia melihat Petrus dan Yohanes lewat, ia meminta sedekah kepada mereka.4Mereka menatap orang itu dan Petrus berkata kepadanya, “Lihatlah kemari!”
5Ia memandang mereka serta mengharapkan suatu pemberian.
6Tetapi Petrus berkata, “Kami tidak mempunyai uang, tetapi ada sesuatu yang akan saya berikan kepadamu. Dalam nama Yesus Kristus, Orang Nazaret itu, berjalanlah!”
7– 8Lalu Petrus memegang tangan orang lumpuh itu dan menariknya sehingga ia berdiri. Sementara ia berdiri, kaki dan mata kakinya sembuh dan menjadi kuat, sehingga ia terlompat, berdiri sebentar, lalu mulai berjalan. Kemudian, sambil melompat-lompat dan memuji Allah, ia mengikuti mereka masuk ke dalam Bait Allah.
9Ketika orang-orang di dalam Bait Allah melihat dia berjalan dan mendengar dia memuji-muji Allah, 10mereka sangat tercengang, karena mereka mengenali dia sebagai pengemis lumpuh, yang sering mereka lihat di Gerbang Indah. 11Mereka semuanya berlari ke Serambi Salomo, di mana orang itu masih mengikuti Petrus dan Yohanes. Semua orang berdiri di sana, heran dan kagum akan mukjizat yang telah terjadi.
12Petrus mempergunakan kesempatan itu untuk berbicara kepada orang banyak, katanya, “Hai orang-orang Israel, apakah yang mengherankan mengenai hal ini? Dan mengapa Saudara menatap kami seolah-olah kami membuat orang ini berjalan dengan kuasa dan kesalehan kami sendiri? 13Allah Abraham, Ishak, dan Yakub serta semua nenek moyang kita, telah mendatangkan kemuliaan kepada hamba-Nya, yaitu Yesus, dengan kejadian ini. Yang saya maksudkan ialah Yesus, yang telah Saudara tolak di hadapan Pilatus, walaupun Pilatus bertekad melepaskan Dia. 14Saudara tidak mau Dia dibebaskan, Dia Yang Kudus dan Benar. Sebaliknya, Saudara menuntut supaya seorang pembunuhlah yang dibebaskan. 15Saudara membunuh Pemberi Hidup itu, tetapi Allah telah menghidupkan Dia kembali. Yohanes dan saya adalah saksi-saksi dalam hal ini, sebab setelah Saudara membunuh-Nya, kami melihat Dia hidup!
16“Nama Yesus telah menyembuhkan orang ini dan Saudara tahu bahwa sebelumnya ia benar-benar lumpuh. Iman kepada nama Yesus, iman yang dikaruniakan Allah kepada kami, telah menyebabkan kesembuhan yang sempurna ini.
17“Saudara-Saudara, saya tahu bahwa apa yang Saudara lakukan terhadap Yesus, dilakukan karena ketidaktahuan, seperti halnya para pemimpin Saudara. 18Tetapi demikianlah Allah menggenapi nubuat-nubuat yang menyatakan bahwa Mesias harus mengalami segala penderitaan ini. 19Sekarang ubahlah pikiran serta sikap Saudara terhadap Allah. Berpalinglah kepada-Nya, supaya Ia menghapuskan dosa Saudara serta memberikan kepada Saudara saat-saat penyegaran yang indah dari hadirat-Nya, 20dan sekali lagi mengutus Yesus, Mesias Saudara, kepada Saudara. 21– 22Ia harus tetap tinggal di surga sampai segala sesuatu dipulihkan, sebagaimana dikatakan Allah melalui nabi-nabi-Nya pada zaman dahulu. Musa, misalnya, dahulu kala berkata,
“ ‘Tuhan Allah akan membangkitkan di antara kamu seorang Nabi seperti aku. Dengarkanlah segala sesuatu yang dikatakan-Nya kepadamu. 23Siapa pun yang tidak mau mendengarkan Dia, akan dibinasakan.’
24“Samuel dan semua nabi setelah dia telah bernubuat tentang apa yang terjadi sekarang ini. 25Saudara adalah keturunan nabi-nabi itu dan janji Allah kepada nenek moyang Saudara berlaku juga bagi Saudara, yaitu bahwa Allah akan memberkati segenap umat manusia dengan perantaraan bangsa Yahudi. Janji itu diberikan Allah kepada Abraham. 26Dan segera setelah Allah membangkitkan Hamba-Nya, mula-mula Ia mengutus-Nya kepada Saudara-Saudara, umat Israel, untuk memberkati Saudara dengan memalingkan Saudara dari dosa.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
