Perceraian
1 Setelah Yesus selesai menyampaikan ajaran-Nya itu, Ia meninggalkan Galilea dan kembali ke Yudea di seberang Sungai Yordan. 2Banyak sekali orang mengikuti Dia, dan yang sakit disembuhkan-Nya. 3Beberapa orang Farisi datang mengajukan pertanyaan dengan maksud menjebak Dia.“Apakah Engkau membolehkan perceraian?” tanya mereka.
4“Bukankah kalian membaca Kitab Suci?” jawab Yesus. “Di dalamnya ada tertulis bahwa pada waktu Allah menciptakan manusia, Ia menciptakan pria dan wanita, 5– 6dan menyatakan bahwa seorang laki-laki meninggalkan ibu dan bapanya dan berhubungan begitu dekat dengan istrinya sehingga keduanya bersatu dengan jiwa dan raga. Dan yang telah dipersatukan Allah tidak boleh diceraikan oleh manusia.”
7“Tetapi mengapa Musa membolehkan suami menceraikan istrinya hanya dengan memberikan surat cerai kepadanya?” tanya mereka.
8Yesus menjawab, “Musa berbuat demikian karena kalian berhati keras dan jahat, tetapi sejak semula maksud Allah bukan demikian. 9Aku berkata kepada kalian bahwa barang siapa menceraikan istrinya, kecuali karena perzinaan, dan kemudian menikah lagi dengan wanita lain, maka ia berbuat zina.”
10Murid-murid Yesus berkata kepada-Nya, “Jika demikian halnya, lebih baik tidak menikah!”
11Yesus berkata, “Tidak semua orang dapat mengerti apa yang Kukatakan sekarang, hanya mereka yang diberi kemampuan oleh Allah: 12Ada orang yang tidak dapat menikah karena dilahirkan demikian, ada yang dijadikan demikian oleh manusia, dan ada pula yang tidak mau menikah demi Kerajaan Surga. Siapa yang dapat menerimanya, terimalah pernyataan-Ku ini.”
Yesus memberkati anak-anak
13Anak-anak kecil dibawa kepada Yesus agar Dia meletakkan tangan ke atas mereka dan mendoakan mereka. Tetapi para murid memarahi mereka yang membawa anak-anak itu. “Jangan mengganggu Dia,” kata mereka.14Tetapi Yesus berkata, “Biarkan anak-anak kecil itu datang kepada-Ku. Jangan melarang mereka. Karena orang yang seperti anak-anak itulah yang memiliki Kerajaan Surga.” 15Dan sebelum pergi, Ia meletakkan tangan-Nya ke atas kepala anak-anak itu serta memberkati mereka.
Orang kaya yang ingin masuk surga
16Seseorang datang kepada Yesus serta bertanya, “Guru yang baik, apakah yang harus saya lakukan supaya memperoleh hidup yang kekal?”17“Apa sebabnya engkau menyebut Aku ‘baik’?” tanya Yesus, “Hanya ada Satu yang baik: Allah. Tetapi baiklah, jawaban pertanyaanmu ialah: Jika engkau ingin masuk surga, maka taati perintah-perintah Allah.”
18“Hukum yang mana?” tanya orang itu.
Yesus menjawab, “Jangan membunuh, jangan berzina, jangan mencuri, jangan berdusta, 19hormatilah ayah dan ibumu, dan cintailah sesamamu manusia seperti dirimu sendiri!”
20“Saya selalu menaati hukum-hukum itu,” sahut orang itu. “Apalagi yang harus saya lakukan?”
21Yesus berkata, “Jika engkau ingin menjadi sempurna, pergi dan juallah semua yang kaumiliki dan sedekahkan uangnya kepada orang miskin, maka engkau akan mendapat harta di surga. Kemudian ikutlah Aku.” 22Tetapi ketika pemuda itu mendengar perkataan Yesus, ia pergi dengan sedih, karena ia sangat kaya.
23Lalu Yesus berkata kepada murid-murid-Nya, “Sukar sekali bagi orang kaya untuk masuk ke dalam Kerajaan Surga. 24Sekali lagi Aku katakan: lebih mudah seekor unta melalui ‘lubang jarum’ daripada orang kaya masuk Kerajaan Allah.”
25Pernyataan ini membuat para murid tertegun. “Jika demikian, siapakah yang dapat diselamatkan?” tanya mereka.
26Yesus menatap mereka dan berkata, “Ditinjau dari segi manusia hal itu mustahil. Tetapi bagi Allah tidak ada yang mustahil.”
27Lalu Petrus berkata kepada-Nya, “Kami telah meninggalkan segala sesuatu untuk mengikut Guru. Apa yang akan kami peroleh kelak?”
28Yesus menjawab, “Apabila Aku, Anak Manusia, menduduki takhta kemuliaan-Ku di dalam Kerajaan itu kelak, maka kalian murid-murid-Ku akan menduduki dua belas takhta untuk menghakimi kedua belas suku bangsa Israel. 29Siapa pun yang meninggalkan rumahnya, saudara laki-lakinya, saudara perempuannya, ayahnya, ibunya, istrinya, anak-anaknya, atau harta bendanya, untuk mengikut Aku, maka ia akan menerima seratus kali lipat, dan akan mendapat hidup yang kekal. 30Namun, banyak orang yang sekarang paling pertama akan menjadi yang paling akhir, dan beberapa orang yang sekarang paling akhir akan menjadi yang paling pertama.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
