Bersikaplah seperti Kristus
1 Apakah benar bahwa orang Kristen saling menghibur? Apakah Saudara saling menghibur dengan cinta-Nya? Apakah persaudaraan kita di dalam Tuhan dan Roh yang sama kita miliki, mempunyai arti bagi Saudara? Apakah Saudara berhati lembut dan menaruh belas kasihan? 2Jika demikian halnya, senangkanlah hati saya dengan saling mengasihi dan hidup rukun serta bekerja sama dengan satu hati, satu pikiran, dan satu tujuan.3Jangan mementingkan diri sendiri; jangan hidup sekadar untuk memberi kesan baik kepada orang lain. Hendaklah rendah hati dengan menganggap orang lain lebih baik daripada Saudara sendiri. 4Jangan hanya memikirkan kepentingan diri sendiri, tetapi perhatikanlah juga kepentingan orang lain.
5Hendaklah Saudara bersikap seperti Yesus Kristus,
6yang tidak menuntut dan tidak tetap berpegang kepada hak-hak-Nya sebagai Allah,
meskipun sebenarnya Dia Allah.
7Ia mengesampingkan kuasa serta kemuliaan-Nya
dan mengambil kedudukan rendah seorang budak
dan dilahirkan sebagai manusia.
8Ia lebih merendahkan diri-Nya lagi,
bahkan sampai mati di kayu salib seperti seorang penjahat.
9Tetapi, karena inilah Allah meninggikan Dia sampai ke surga
dan memberikan kepada-Nya nama di atas segala nama,
10supaya dengan mendengar nama Yesus Kristus segala lutut akan bertelut, baik yang ada di langit,
yang ada di atas bumi, maupun yang ada di bawah bumi,
11dan segala lidah akan mengaku bahwa Yesus Kristus adalah Tuhan,
bagi kemuliaan Allah Bapa.
12Saudara sekalian yang saya kasihi, ketika saya berada bersama dengan Saudara, Saudara selalu berusaha menaati petunjuk-petunjuk saya. Sekarang pada waktu saya jauh, Saudara harus lebih banyak berusaha untuk mengerjakan hal-hal yang baik sebagai buah-buah keselamatan, menaati Allah dengan penuh hormat serta takut akan Dia. 13Sebab Allah bekerja di dalam Saudara dan menolong Saudara agar berkeinginan untuk menaati Dia serta melaksanakan kehendak-Nya.
14Apa pun yang Saudara lakukan, janganlah mengeluh dan berbantah-bantah. 15Dengan demikian, tidak seorang pun dapat menyalahkan Saudara. Jika Saudara memberikan teladan hidup sebagai anak-anak Allah di dalam dunia jahat dan gelap ini, Saudara akan bersinar seperti bintang di langit malam di antara sesama manusia. 16Berpegang teguh pada firman kehidupan, supaya pada waktu Kristus kembali, saya akan bangga bahwa pekerjaan saya di antara Saudara tidak sia-sia. 17Dan bahkan seandainya saya harus mati dan darah saya akan dicurahkan ke atas iman Saudara, sebagai kurban persembahan kepada Allah, saya akan senang dan akan bersukacita bersama dengan Saudara. 18Demikian juga Saudara harus bersukacita bersama dengan saya atas kehormatan yang saya peroleh untuk mati bagi Saudara sekalian.
19Jika Tuhan menghendaki, saya mempunyai rencana untuk segera mengutus Timotius, sehingga bila ia kembali, ia dapat menyenangkan saya dengan berita tentang keadaan Saudara sekalian. 20Tidak ada orang lain yang menaruh perhatian begitu besar kepada Saudara seperti halnya Timotius. 21Orang-orang lain tampaknya sibuk dengan rencananya sendiri, bukan dengan rencana-rencana Yesus Kristus. 22Tetapi Saudara mengenal Timotius. Dalam hal membantu saya memberitakan Injil, ia seperti anak bagi saya. 23Segera setelah saya mengetahui apa jadinya dengan saya di sini, saya harap dapat mengutus dia kepada Saudara. 24Saya percaya, bahwa dengan kehendak Tuhan, tidak lama lagi saya sendiri akan datang menemui Saudara.
25Sementara itu, saya kira saya harus menyuruh Epafroditus kembali kepada Saudara. Dia telah Saudara utus kepada saya pada saat-saat saya membutuhkan pertolongan dan kami telah bekerja serta berjuang bersama-sama seolah-olah dua bersaudara. 26Sekarang saya menyuruh dia pulang, sebab ia rindu kepada Saudara dan merasa risau, sebab Saudara mendengar berita bahwa ia sakit. 27Dia memang sakit, sehingga hampir saja ia menemui ajalnya. Tetapi Allah mengasihani dia dan saya, serta tidak membiarkan kedukaan seperti itu menambah segala penderitaan saya.
28Oleh karena itu, saya ingin sekali menyuruh dia kembali kepada Saudara, sebab saya tahu Saudara akan sangat bersyukur dapat melihat dia lagi. Hal itu akan menyukakan hati saya dan meringankan segala beban pikiran saya. 29Sambutlah dia di dalam Tuhan dengan sukacita, dan hargailah dia. 30Sebab ia mempertaruhkan hidupnya bagi pekerjaan Kristus dan nyaris mati ketika berusaha mengerjakan untuk saya hal-hal yang tidak dapat Saudara kerjakan karena jauh dari saya.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
