1Bet notika, kamēr Apolls bija Korintā, ka Pāvils, pārstaigājis augstienes apgabalus, nonāca Efezā. Atradis dažus mācekļus, 2Viņš tiem sacīja: Vai jūs saņēmāt Svēto Garu, kad kļuvāt ticīgi? Bet tie viņam sacīja: Mēs pat neesam dzirdējuši, ka Svētais Gars ir. 3Tad viņš tiem sacīja: Kā tad jūs esat kristīti? Tie sacīja: Jāņa kristībā. 4Bet Pāvils sacīja: Jānis kristīja tautu grēku nožēlošanas kristībā, sacīdams, lai tie tic uz To, kas pēc viņa nāks, t.i., uz Jēzu. 5To dzirdējuši, viņi tika kristīti Kunga Jēzus vārdā. 6Un kad Pāvils uzlika tiem rokas, Svētais Gars nāca uz viņiem, un tie runāja valodās un pravietoja. 7Bet viņu bija pavisam ap divpadsmit vīru. 8Tad viņš, iegājis sinagogā, droši sludināja trīs mēnešus, mācīdams un pārliecinādams par Dieva valstību. 9Bet kad daži palika cietsirdīgi un neticēja, ļaužu priekšā zaimodami Kunga ceļu, viņš no tiem aizgāja, nošķīra mācekļus un katru dienu tiem sludināja Tiranna skolā. 10Tas turpinājās divus gadus, tā ka visi, kas Āzijā dzīvoja, jūdi un pagāni dzirdēja Kunga vārdu. 11Dievs ar Pāvila rokām darīja ne mazums brīnumu, 12Tā ka pat sviedrautus un priekšautus no viņa miesas uzlika neveselajiem, un slimības tos atstāja, un ļaunie gari izgāja no tiem. 13Bet daži no jūdiem, kas bija garu izdzinēji un klejoja apkārt, mēģināja piesaukt Jēzus vārdu pār tiem, kam bija ļaunie gari, sacīdami: Es jūs zvērinu pie Jēzus, ko Pāvils sludina. 14Bet tie, kas to darīja, bija dažī jūdi: augstā priestera Skevas septiņi dēli. 15Bet ļaunais gars tiem atbildēja, sacīdams: Jēzu es pazīstu un Pāvilu es zinu, bet kas jūs esat? 16Un cilvēks, kurā bija ļaunais gars, uzbruka tiem, ņēma pār abiem virsroku un pieveica tos, tā ka tie kaili un ievainoti aizbēga no tās mājas. 17Tas kļuva zināms visiem jūdiem un pagāniem, kas dzīvoja Efezā, un visus tos pārņēma bailes, un viņi godināja Kunga Jēzus vārdu. 18Un daudzi no ticīgajiem nāca, atzīdami un izstāstīdami savus darbus. 19Bet daudzi no tiem, kas nodarbojās ar māņticību, sanesa grāmatas un visu priekšā sadedzināja. Noteicot to vērtību, atrada, ka tā ir piecdesmit tūkstošu denāriju. 20Tā Dieva vārds vareni auga un nostiprinājās. 21To pabeidzis, Pāvils garā apņēmās, pārstaigājot Maķedoniju un Ahaju, iet uz Jeruzalemi, sacīdams: Kad es būšu tur bijis, man būs jāredz arī Roma. 22Tad viņš, aizsūtījis uz Maķedoniju divus savus palīgus, Timoteju un Erastu, pats kādu laiku palika Āzijā. 23Bet tanī laikā notika liels nemiers Kunga ceļa dēļ. 24Jo kāds sudrabkalis, vārdā Dēmetrijs, kas darināja Diānas sudraba tempļus un sagādāja amatniekiem ne mazums peļņas, 25Sasaucis tos un citus, kas strādāja to pašu amatu, sacīja: Vīri, jūs zināt, ka no šī darba mums ir ieguvums; 26Un jūs redzat un dzirdat, ka šis Pāvils ne vien Efezā, bet gandrīz visā Āzijā pārliecina un novērš daudz tautas, sacīdams, ka tie nav dievi, kas rokām darināti. 27Bet ne tikai šai mūsu nodarbei draud briesmas kļūt atmestai, bet arī lielās Diānas templis tiks nievāts un arī sāks iznīkt viņas godība, ko pielūdz visa Āzijā un pasaule. 28To dzirdēdami un dusmu pārņemti, tie kliedza, sacīdami: Liela ir efeziešu Diāna! 29Un pilsētā cēlās nemiers. Tie vienprātīgi traucās uz teātri, raudami līdz maķedoniešus - Gaiju un Aristarhu, Pāvila ceļa biedrus. 30Kad Pāvils gribēja iet pie tautas, mācekļi to nepieļāva. 31Bet arī daži no Āzijas dižciltīgajiem, kas bija viņa draugi, sūtīja pie viņa un lūdza, lai viņš neiet uz teātri. 32Bet daži kliedza citu, jo sanāksme bija izjukusi, un vairums nezināja, kāda iemesla dēļ viņi sanākuši. 33Tad tie no pūļa izvilka Aleksandru, ko jūdi bīdīja uz priekšu. Bet Aleksandrs, pieprasījis ar roku klusēšanu, gribēja aizstāvēties tautas priekšā. 34Uzzinājuši, ka viņš ir jūds, tie visi vienā balsī apmēram divas stundas kliedza: Liela ir efeziešu Diāna! 35Bet rakstvedis nomierināja pūli, sacīdams: Efeziešu vīri, vai ir kāds cilvēks, kas nezinātu, ka efeziešu pilsēta ir lielās Diānas, Jupitera meitas, godinātāja? 36Tā kā tam neviens nevar pretim runāt, jums jānomierinās, lai neko neapdomīgu nedarītu. 37Jūs atvedāt šos cilvēkus, kas nav ne tempļa aplaupītāji, ne jūsu dieves zaimotāji. 38Ja Dēmetrijam un amatniekiem, kas kopā ar viņu, ir kāda prasība pret citiem, tad notiek tiesu sanāksmes un ir arī prokonsuli, lai sūdz viens otru. 39Bet ja jums būtu vēl kāda cita prasība, to var izlemt likumīgā sanāksmē. 40Mums arī jābīstas, ka mūs neapsūdz par šīs dienas sacelšanos, jo mēs nevaram uzrādīt, kas būtu pie dumpja vainojams. Un viņš to teicis, atlaida sanāksmi. 41

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
