Ambtskleding voor de priesters
1Van blauwpurper, roodpurper en scharlaken maakte het volk de ambtskleding voor de priesters, die zij droegen bij hun dienst in de tabernakel. Dezelfde stof werd gebruikt voor Aärons heilige kleren, zoals de Here Mozes had opgedragen. 2Het priesterkleed werd gemaakt van dezelfde stof, geweven met getwijnd fijn linnen. 3Besaleël bewerkte het goud tot dunne platen en sneed die daarna tot dunne draden die werden verwerkt tussen het blauwpurper, roodpurper, scharlaken en fijn linnen. De onyxstenen, die op de schouderstukken moesten komen, werden in goud gezet en op de stenen werden de namen van de stammen van Israël gegraveerd, op dezelfde manier als initialen op een zegelring worden aangebracht. Deze stenen moesten de Here voortdurend herinneren aan het volk Israël. Ook dit werk werd precies zo uitgevoerd als de Here Mozes had opgedragen. 8De borsttas was een waar kunstwerk, net als het priesterkleed gemaakt van gouddraad, blauwpurper, roodpurper, scharlaken en getwijnd fijn linnen. 9Deze was 23 cm in het vierkant en dubbel, zodat een buidel ontstond. 10Daarin kwamen vier rijen stenen: op de eerste rij sardis, topaas en smaragd; 11op de tweede rij hematiet, saffier en diamant; 12op de derde rij opaal, agaat en amethist en 13op de vierde rij chrysoliet, onyx en jaspis. Om de borsttas aan het priesterkleed te bevestigen, werd aan elk schouderstuk van het priesterkleed een gouden ring gemaakt. Twee gevlochten gouden kettinkjes liepen van die ringen naar twee ringen aan de bovenste rand van de borsttas. 19Twee andere gouden ringen werden vastgemaakt aan de onderste rand van de borsttas, bij het priesterkleed. 20Laag op de schouderstukken van het priesterkleed werden ook twee gouden ringen bevestigd, vlak boven de geweven riem. 21De ringen werden verbonden met behulp van een blauwpurperen koord, zodat de borsttas vastzat op de riem van het priesterkleed en niet kon wegschuiven. Er werd precies zo gewerkt als de Here het Mozes had bevolen. 22De mantel die onder het priesterkleed werd gedragen, werd geweven van blauwpurper, 23met een halsopening in het midden. Ze maakten gouden belletjes en zetten die tussen de granaatappels, om en om, op de zoom van de mantel die Aäron bij zijn dienst droeg. Van hetzelfde fijne linnen werden de tulband, de hoofddoeken en de broeken gemaakt. Toen brachten zij de tabernakel bij Mozes: al het toebehoren, de haken, panelen en dwarsbalken, de pilaren, de voetstukken, het dekkleed van het dak—een kleed van roodgeverfde ramsvellen en een kleed van dassenvellen—het gordijn dat voor de ark moest komen te hangen, de ark met de Tien Geboden erin, de draagstokken, het verzoendeksel, de tafel en alle toebehoren, de toonbroden, de gouden kandelaar met de lampen, toebehoren en olie, het gouden altaar, de zalfolie, het reukwerk, het gordijn voor de ingang van de tabernakel, het koperen altaar, het koperen rooster, de draagstokken en het toebehoren, het wasvat en zijn voetstuk, de gordijnen van de voorhof en de pilaren die hen steunden, de voetstukken en de gordijnen bij de ingang van de voorhof, de scheerlijnen en grondpennen en al het andere toebehoren voor de dienst in de tabernakel. 41Ook de ambtskleding van de priesters voor de dienst in het heiligdom en de heilige kleding van Aäron de priester en de kleding voor zijn zonen werden bij Mozes gebracht. 42Zo voerde het volk Israël alle opdrachten uit die de Here Mozes had gegeven. 43Mozes inspecteerde hun werk en zegende hen, omdat alles precies volgens de opdrachten van de Here was uitgevoerd.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
