Binkošti: prihod Svetega Duha
1Ko se je začel judovski binkoštni praznik, so bili spet učenci skupaj. 2Naenkrat je prišlo z neba neko šumenje, kot če bi se bližal močan vihar in je napolnilo vso hišo, kjer so bili zbrani. 3Istočasno so videli nekaj, kar je bilo podobno plamenom ali ognjenim jezikom, ki so se spuščali na vsakega izmed njih. 4Tako so se vsi napolnili s Svetim Duhom in govorili so tuje jezike, ki jih sicer niso znali, kajti Sveti Duh jim je dal to sposobnost.5Na praznik v Jeruzalem so prišli pobožni Judje iz vsega sveta. 6Ko so zaslišali šum, se je hitro zbrala velika množica ljudi. Osupnili so, kajti vsi izmed njih so slišali apostole, da govorijo v njihovih jezikih. 7“Kako je to mogoče?” so se začudeni spraševali. “Vsi ti ljudje so vendar iz Galileje, 8pa vendar govorijo naš materni jezik, ne glede na to, ali smo Parti, Medijci ali Elamci. 9Drugi izmed nas prihajajo iz Mezopotamije, Judeje, Kapadokije, Ponta in Azije, 10iz Frigije, Pamfilije in iz Egipta, iz okolice Cirene in Libije in celo iz Rima. Vsi smo Judje, ali pa pristaši judovskega verovanja, 11Krečani in Arabci. Vendar vsak izmed nas sliši v svojem jeziku, ko nam ti ljudje pripovedujejo o veličastnih Božjih delih!” 12Začudeni in presenečeni so spraševali drug drugega: “Kaj to pomeni?” 13Nekateri pa so se norčevali: “Gotovo so pregloboko pogledali v kozarec!”

14Tedaj je vstal Peter z enajsterimi apostoli in je spregovoril množici: “Poslušajte, Judje in prebivalci Jeruzalema! Pojasnil vam bom, kaj se dogaja. 15Ti ljudje niso pijani, kot nekateri med vami mislijo. Saj je ura šele devet zjutraj. 16Ne, ampak se uresničuje to, kar je prerok Joel povedal vnaprej. Takole je napovedal:17‘V poslednjih dneh,’ govori Bog,
‘bom dal vsem ljudem svojega Duha.
Vaši sinovi in hčere bodo prerokovali,
vaši mladeniči bodo imeli vizije
in vaši starci bodo sanjali pomembne sanje.
18Vsem možem in ženam, ki mi služijo,
bom dal svojega Duha
in bodo prerokovali.
19Na nebu in na zemlji boste videli čudežne znake:
kri, ogenj in dim.
20Sonce bo potemnelo
in mesec bo sijal krvavordeče,
preden pride Gospodov dan,
veličasten in slaven.
21Kdor bo tedaj klical Gospodovo ime,
bo rešen.’ ▼

22Poslušajte, možje Izraelci! Kot vsi veste, je Jezus iz Nazareta po Božjem nalogu storil med vami mogočna dejanja, znake in čudeže. 23Prišel je v vaše roke, ker se je našel izdajalec, ki vam ga je izdal, vi pa ste ga s pomočjo nevernih Rimljanov pribili na križ in tako usmrtili. Toda Bog je to vnaprej določil. 24Tega Jezusa je Bog obudil od mrtvih in tako vzel smrti moč. Kako bi ga le mogla smrt obdržati v svoji oblasti! 25David je že govoril o Jezusu, ko je zapisal:
‘Vem, da je Gospod vedno z mano.
Pomaga mi. Božja silna moč me podpira.
26Ni čudno, da je moje srce radostno
ter da mu moj jezik kliče hvalo,
kajti tudi moje telo počiva polno zaupanja,
27ker ne boš pustil moje duše v kraljestvu smrti.
Ne boš dovolil, da telo tvojega Svetega strohni.
28Povrnil me boš v življenje
in veselil se bom v tvoji prisotnosti.’ ▼

29Dragi bratje! Odkrito vam bom povedal: naš oče David je umrl in pokopali so ga. Še danes lahko vidimo njegov grob. 30Bog pa mu je prisegel, da bo nekdo izmed njegovih potomcev sedel kot kralj na njegovem prestolu. Ker je bil David prerok, 31je vnaprej videl Jezusovo vstajenje. O njem je namreč dejal, da ne bo ostal med mrtvimi ter da njegovo telo ne bo strohnelo. 32Tega Jezusa je Bog obudil od mrtvih. Vsi mi to lahko potrdimo. 33Bog ga je zdaj postavil za vladarja. Od Očeta je dobil Svetega Duha in ga je dal nam, prav tako kot je obljubil Oče. Zdaj vidite in slišite, da se je to uresničilo. 34Ni odšel David v nebesa, kajti on pravi:
‘Bog je dejal mojemu Gospodu:
“Sedi na častno mesto na moji desni strani,
35dokler ne storim, da ti bodo vsi sovražniki pokorni.” ’ ▼

36Zato naj nihče v Izraelu ne dvomi v to, da je Bog postavil Jezusa, ki ste ga vi križali, za Gospoda in Rešitelja.”
37Poslušalce so te besede močno pretresle ter so vprašali Petra in druge apostole: “Bratje, kaj pa naj zdaj storimo?” 38Peter je odgovoril: “Vsak izmed vas naj zapusti greh in se obrne k Bogu ter naj se krsti v imenu Jezusa Kristusa, da bi mu Bog odpustil grehe. Tedaj boste tudi vi dobili Svetega Duha kot dar. 39Kristus je namreč to obljubil vam, vašim otrokom in tudi tistim, ki prebivajo v oddaljenih deželah in ki jih je Gospod, naš Bog, poklical v svojo službo.” 40Peter se je še dolgo pogovarjal z njimi in jih spodbujal, naj se rešijo hudobnosti svojega naroda. ▼

41Mnogi poslušalci so verovali, kar jim je govoril Peter in so se krstili. Okrog tri tisoč ljudi se je tisti dan priključilo cerkvi. Prva cerkev
42Ti novi kristjani so se pridružili ostalim vernim. Nadaljevali so s tem, kar so jih učili apostoli, udeleževali so se skupnih obedov in skupaj so molili. 43Vse je prežemal Božji strah. Apostoli so delali mnoge čudeže, ki so potrjevali njihove besede. 44Verni so živeli skupaj kot velika družina. Kar so posedovali, je bilo last vseh. 45Kdor je imel zemljo ali drugo imetje, je to prodal in z denarjem pomagal tistim, ki so bili siromašni. 46Vsak dan so se sestajali v templju in po hišah lomili kruh. Z veseljem in hvaležnostjo so skupaj obedovali. 47Hvalili so Boga in vse ljudstvo jih je cenilo in spoštovalo. Cerkev je napredovala, kajti Bog je reševal vsak dan nove ljudi.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
