Pavel zapusti Efez ter odpotuje v Grčijo
1Ko je bilo vsega nemira konec, je Pavel sklical vso cerkev, da bi ohrabril verne ter se od njih poslovil. Potem je odpotoval proti Makedoniji. 2Spotoma je obiskoval vse krščanske cerkve ter si vzel dovolj časa, da bi jih spodbujal v veri. Tako je prispel do Grčije, 3kjer je ostal tri mesece. Pravkar se je pripravljal, da bi se prepeljal v Sirijo, ko je izvedel, da ga Judje na tem potovanju nameravajo umoriti. Zato se je odločil, da se vrne po suhem čez Makedonijo. 4Z njim so potovali Sopater iz Beroje, Pirov sin, Aristarh in Sekundus iz Tesalonike, Gaj iz Derbe in Timotej; poleg njih pa še Tihik in Trofim iz pokrajine Azije. 5Ti so odpotovali pred nami in naj bi nas počakali v Troadi. 6Mi drugi pa smo krenili po velikonočnem prazniku iz Filipov ter prispeli z ladjo v petih dneh do Troade. smo se sestali, da bi lomili kruh in Pavel je pridigal. Ker je že naslednji dan hotel kreniti dalje, si je vzel precej časa in je govoril do polnoči. 8Sobo na gornjem nadstropju, kjer smo bili zbrani, so razsvetljevale mnoge oljne svetilke. 9Neki mladenič, ki mu je bilo ime Evtih, je sedel na okenski polici. Ker je Pavel tako dolgo pridigal, ga je premagal spanec. Izgubil je ravnotežje ter padel skozi odprto okno s tretjega nadstropja. Ko so ga dvignili, je bil mrtev. 10Pavel je stekel navzdol, sklonil se je nad mrtveca ter ga vzel v svoje roke. Potem pa je dejal: “Ne vznemirjajte se! Živ je!” 11Zares je bilo tako. Vrnili so se v sobo in skupaj lomili kruh. Pavel je potem govoril še nekaj časa in že se je zdanilo, ko jih je zapustil. 12Vsi so bili veseli, da je bil Evtih spet živ. Pot v Milet
13Mi ostali smo se potem vkrcali na neko ladjo in se odpeljali v Asos. Pavel pa naj bi prišel tja po suhem. 14V Asosu je tudi on prišel na ladjo in skupaj smo se odpeljali v Mitileno. 15Naslednjega dne smo prišli v Hios, dan pozneje do Samosa, naslednji dan pa smo dopotovali v Milet. 16Da ne bi izgubljali časa, se je Pavel odločil, da ne gremo v Efez. Želel je namreč, če bi bilo le mogoče, priti za binkoštni praznik v Jeruzalem.Slovo od kristjanov v Efezu
17Iz Mileta je Pavel poslal v Efez sla s sporočilom, da bi se rad pogovarjal s starešinami cerkve. 18Ko so se vsi zbrali, jim je dejal: “Veste, da sem od tistega dne, ko je moja noga stopila na tla pokrajine Azije, pa vse do zdaj 19ponižno služil Gospodu, pogosto s solzami in v neprestani nevarnosti, da me Judje, ki so me zasledovali, umorijo. 20Veste tudi, da vam ničesar nisem zamolčal, kar bi vam moglo biti v pomoč. Govoril sem vam javno pa tudi v vaših domovih. 21Judom kakor tudi Grkom sem jasno oznanjeval, da se morajo obrniti od greha k Bogu in verovati v Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa. 22Zdaj pa bom potoval v Jeruzalem, kajti Sveti Duh me priganja, da storim tako. Ne vem, kaj me tam čaka in kaj se bo zgodilo z mano. 23Samo to vem, da me čaka ječa in trpljenje. To mi je govoril Sveti Duh skozi preroke v vseh cerkvah, ki sem jih obiskal. 24Toda življenje mi ne pomeni nič – da bi le dokončal tek in izpolnil nalogo, ki mi jo je dal Kristus – namreč da oznanjujem evangelij o Božji milosti in ljubezni. 25Vem, da me nihče izmed vas, ki sem vam oznanil evangelij in s katerimi sem se družil, ne bo nikoli več videl. 26Zato vam želim danes jasno povedati, da ne bom kriv, če se kdorkoli izmed vas pogubi. 27Saj vam nisem ničesar zamolčal, ampak sem vam oznanil celoten Božji načrt rešitve. 28Poslej morate paziti vsak sam nase in na cerkev, kamor vas je Sveti Duh postavil kot pastirje. Hranite Božjo čredo in varujte njegovo cerkev, ki jo je odkupil s krvjo svojega Sina. 29Vem namreč, da bodo prišli krivi učitelji, brž ko me več ne bo med vami ter vas bodo napadli kot krvoločni volkovi in ne bo jim mar črede. 30Celo med vami se bodo našli ljudje, ki bodo samo zato zavijali resnico, ker bodo želeli pridobiti ljudi zase. 31Bodite torej budni! Mislite na to, da sem tri leta, dan in noč, neumorno, pogosto tudi s solzami, vsakemu izmed vas kazal pravo pot. 32Zdaj pa vas izročam Bogu v varstvo in njegovi besedi milosti. Samo on ima moč storiti, da vaša vera raste. On vam more dati dediščino, ki jo je obljubil svojim otrokom. ▼▼V izvirniku: dati delež med vsemi posvečenimi.
33Nikoli nisem zahteval od nikogar srebra, zlata ali obleke. 34Dobro veste, da sem s temi rokami in s svojim delom prislužil to, kar sem potreboval za življenje sam in tisti, ki so bili z menoj. 35S tem sem vam hotel pokazati, kako je treba delati, da bi lahko pomagali ubogim ter da bi izpolnili to, kar je dejal Gospod sam: Srečnejši smo, če dajemo, kakor če sprejemamo.” 36Zdaj so vsi pokleknili in molili. 37Poljubljali so Pavla in ga objemali v slovo; mnogi so glasno jokali, 38ker jim je dejal, da ga ne bodo več videli. Potem so ga pospremili na ladjo.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
