1“Nebeško kraljestvo lahko primerjamo zgodbi o desetih mladih dekletih, ki naj bi kot nevestine družice šle nasproti ženinu s svetilkami, da bi ga spremile na poroko. 2– 3– 4 ▼▼The text of verses 2-Mat 25:4 has been merged.
Toda samo pet je bilo tako pametnih, da so si priskrbele dovolj olja za svetilke. Druge sploh niso mislile na to, da morajo vzeti s seboj olje. 5Ko ženina ni bilo, so se vse utrudile ter so pozaspale. 6Okrog polnoči jih je prebudil klic: ‘Ženin prihaja! Vstanite in ga pozdravite!’ 7Tedaj so družice skočile na noge ter uredile svoje svetilke. 8Tistih pet, ki ni imelo dovolj olja, je prosilo druge: ‘Dajte nam malo vašega olja! Naše svetilke ugašajo.’ 9Pametne pa so odgovorile: ‘Mi imamo komaj dovolj olja zase. Pojdite v trgovino ter kupite olja za vaše svetilke!’ 10Medtem pa je prišel ženin, in družice, ki so imele dovolj olja v svetilkah, so šle z njim v svatbeno dvorano. Zaprli so vrata. 11Nato je prišlo še pet drugih družic. Stale so pred vrati in klicale: ‘Gospod, odpri nam!’ 12On pa je odgovoril: ‘Kaj pa hočete? Ne poznam vas!’ 13Zato bedite in bodite pripravljeni! Ne veste namreč katerega dne in ob katerem času pridem.” “Trgujte!”

14“Nebeško kraljestvo se lahko prikaže z zgodbo o človeku, ki je potoval v tujino. Sklical je vse služabnike in jim naročil, naj med tem časom, dokler je odsoten, oskrbujejo njegovo imetje. 15Enemu je dal pet zlatnikov, drugemu dva in tretjemu enega, kakor je ocenil, da je kdo izmed njih sposoben. ▼▼Tu gre za “talente”: zlati in srebrni talenti so bile največje denarne enote.
Potem je odpotoval. 16Služabnik s petimi zlatniki je bil tako uspešen pri svojih poslih, da je to vsoto podvojil. 17Tudi tisti, ki je dobil dva zlatnika, je prislužil še dva. 18Tretji je skril svoj zlatnik na varnem kraju, ker ni želel ničesar tvegati. 19Čez dolgo časa se je gospodar vrnil s svojega potovanja ter je poklical svoje služabnike, da bi z njimi naredil obračun. 20Mož, ki je dobil pet zlatnikov, jih je prinesel deset. Dejal je: ‘Gospod, pet zlatnikov si mi dal. Prislužil sem jih še pet.’ 21Tedaj ga je njegov gospodar pohvalil: ‘Marljiv si bil in zanesljiv. V malem si bil zvest, zato ti bom zaupal večje naloge. Vabim te na svečanost!’ 22Potem je prišel mož z dvema zlatnikoma. Dejal je: ‘Gospod, uspelo mi je podvojiti to, kar si mi dal.’ 23Gospodar ga je pohvalil: ‘Bil si marljiv in zanesljiv. V malem si bil zvest, zato ti bom zaupal velike naloge. Vabim te na svečanost!’ 24Končno je prišel tisti, ki je dobil en zlatnik in dejal takole: ‘Poznam te kot strogega gospodarja, pa sem si mislil: Karkoli bom prislužil, mi boš v vsakem primeru vzel. ▼▼V izvirniku: Žanješ, kjer nisi sejal in pobiraš, kjer nisi raztresel.
25Bal sem se, da ne bi pri kupčevanju izgubil denarja, zato sem ga varno spravil. Tukaj ti ga vračam!’ 26Jezen mu je gospodar odgovoril: ‘Kakšen neumnež si! Če že misliš, da mi gre samo za dobiček, 27zakaj nisi potem naložil denarja v banki? Tam bi dobil vsaj obresti! 28Vzemite mu denar in ga dajte tistemu, ki je dobil pet zlatnikov! 29Tistemu namreč, ki vestno uporablja to, kar ima, lahko zaupajo še več, tako da ima nazadnje več kot dovolj. Kdor pa nemarno ravna z malim, mu bodo vzeli še to. 30Zdaj pa vrzite tega ničvrednega moža v temo, kjer bo jok in škrtanje z zobmi.’ ” Sodba sveta
31“Ko bo prišel Sin človekov v vsej svoji slavi v spremstvu angelov, tedaj bo sedel na Božji prestol. 32Vsa ljudstva se bodo zbrala pred njim, on pa jih bo razdelil v dve skupini, tako kot pastir loči ovce od kozlov. 33Na desni bodo stale ovce, na levi pa kozli.34Potem bo sodnik rekel tistim, ki bodo na desni strani: ‘Pridite! Vas je blagoslovil moj Oče. Posedite Božje kraljestvo, ki je pripravljeno za vas kot dediščina od takrat, ko je bil ustvarjen svet! 35Ko sem bil namreč lačen, ste mi dali jesti. Ko sem bil žejen, ste mi dali piti. Bil sem tujec pri vas, pa ste me sprejeli. 36Bil sem gol, pa ste me oblekli. Bil sem bolan in obiskali ste me. Ko sem bil v ječi, ste prišli k meni.’
37Tedaj bodo vprašali: ‘Gospod, kdaj si bil lačen, pa smo ti dali jesti? Ali žejen, pa smo ti dali piti? 38Kdaj smo ti izkazali gostoljubnost in kdaj si bil gol, pa smo ti prinesli obleko? 39Kdaj si bil bolan ali v ječi, pa smo te obiskali?’ 40Sodnik jim bo tedaj odgovoril: ‘Povem vam, da to, kar ste storili enemu izmed mojih najmanjših bratov, ste meni storili!’ 41Tistim na njegovi levi strani pa bo dejal: ‘Poberite se izpred mojih oči, prekleti, v večni ogenj, ki je namenjen hudiču in njegovim pomočnikom! 42Kajti lačen sem bil, pa mi niste dali jesti. Žejen sem bil, pa mi niste dali piti. 43Bil sem tujec med vami, pa me niste sprejeli. Bil sem gol, pa mi niste hoteli dati obleke. Bil sem bolan in v ječi, pa niste poskrbeli zame.’ 44Tedaj ga bodo tudi oni vprašali: ‘Gospod, kdaj smo te videli lačnega ali žejnega, brez prenočišča, golega, bolnega ali v ječi, pa ti nismo pomagali?’ 45Na to jim bo sodnik odgovoril: ‘Pomoč, ki ste jo odrekli mojim najmanjšim bratom, ste odrekli meni.’ 46Čaka vas večna kazen. Tiste pa, ki so delali Božjo voljo, čaka večno življenje.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
