Wazao Wa Esau
(1 Nyakati 1:34-42)
1 aHivi ndivyo vizazi vya Esau (yaani Edomu).2 bEsau akaoa wake kutoka miongoni mwa wanawake wa Kanaani: Ada binti wa Eloni Mhiti, Oholibama binti wa Ana, mjukuu wa kike wa Sibeoni Mhivi, 3pia akaoa Basemathi binti wa Ishmaeli, dada yake Nebayothi.
4 cAda akamzalia Esau Elifazi, Basemathi akamzaa Reueli, 5 dOholibama akamzaa Yeushi, Yalamu na Kora. Hawa ndio wana wa Esau waliozaliwa kwake huko Kanaani.
6 eEsau akawachukua wake zake, watoto wake wa kiume na wa kike na wote wa nyumbani mwake, mifugo yake pamoja na wanyama wake wengine wote na mali yake yote ambayo alikuwa ameipata akiwa Kanaani, akahamia katika nchi iliyo mbali na Yakobo ndugu yake. 7 fMali zao zilikuwa nyingi sana kiasi kwamba haikuwa rahisi wao kuishi pamoja, nchi waliyokuwa wakiishi isingewatosha wote kwa ajili ya mifugo yao. 8 gKwa hiyo Esau (ambaye ni Edomu) aliishi katika nchi ya kilima huko Seiri.
9 hHawa ndio wazao wa Esau, baba wa Waedomu, katika nchi ya kilima cha Seiri.
10 iHaya ndiyo majina ya wana wa Esau:
Elifazi, mwana wa Esau ambaye mkewe Ada alimzalia; na Reueli, mwana wa Esau ambaye mkewe Basemathi alimzalia.
11 jWana wa Elifazi ni:
Temani, Omari, Sefo, Gatamu na Kenazi.
12 kElifazi mwana wa Esau alikuwa pia na suria aliyeitwa Timna, ambaye alimzalia Amaleki. Hawa ndio waliokuwa wajukuu wa Ada mke wa Esau.
13 lWana wa Reueli ni:
Nahathi, Zera, Shama na Miza. Hawa ndio waliokuwa wajukuu wa Basemathi mkewe Esau.
14 mWana wa Oholibama binti Ana, mkewe Esau, aliyekuwa mjukuu wa Sibeoni, aliomzalia Esau ni:
Yeushi, Yalamu na Kora.
15 nHawa ndio waliokuwa wakuu miongoni mwa wazao wa Esau:
Wakuu wa wana wa Elifazi, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Esau ni:
Temani, Omari, Sefo, Kenazi, 16 oKora, Gatamu na Amaleki. Hawa ndio waliokuwa wakuu waliotoka kwa Elifazi huko Edomu, waliokuwa wajukuu wa kiume wa Ada.
17 pWakuu wa wana wa Reueli, mwana wa Esau ni:
Nahathi, Zera, Shama na Miza. Hawa ndio wakuu waliotoka kwa Reueli huko Edomu, waliokuwa wajukuu wa kiume wa Basemathi mkewe Esau.
18 qWakuu wa wana wa Esau ambao mkewe Oholibama alimzalia ni:
Yeushi, Yalamu na Kora. Hawa ndio wakuu waliotoka kwa mke wa Esau, Oholibama binti Ana.
19 rHawa ndio waliokuwa wana wa Esau (ndiye Edomu), na hawa ndio waliokuwa wakuu wao.
20 sHawa ndio walikuwa wana wa Seiri, Mhori, waliokuwa wakiishi katika nchi ile:
Lotani, Shobali, Sibeoni, Ana, 21 tDishoni, Eseri na Dishani. Hawa ndio wana wa Seiri huko Edomu waliokuwa wakuu kwa Wahori.
22Wana wa Lotani walikuwa:
Hori na Homamu. Timna alikuwa dada yake Lotani.
23Wana wa Shobali walikuwa:
Alvani, Manahathi, Ebali, Shefo na Onamu.
24 uWana wa Sibeoni walikuwa:
Aiya na Ana. Huyu Ana ndiye aligundua chemchemi ya maji moto jangwani alipokuwa akichunga punda za Sibeoni baba yake.
25 vWatoto wa Ana walikuwa:
Dishoni na Oholibama binti wa Ana.
26Wana wa Dishoni walikuwa:
Hemdani, Eshbani, Ithrani na Kerani.
27Wana wa Eseri walikuwa:
Bilhani, Zaavani na Akani.
28Wana wa Dishani walikuwa:
Usi na Arani.
29 wHawa ndio waliokuwa wakuu wa Wahori:
Lotani, Shobali, Sibeoni, Ana, 30 xDishoni, Eseri na Dishani. Hawa ndio walikuwa wakuu wa Wahori, kufuatana na makundi yao, katika nchi ya Seiri.
Watawala Wa Edomu
(1 Nyakati 1:43-54)
31 yWafuatao ni wafalme waliotawala Edomu kabla ya mfalme yeyote wa Israeli kutawala:32Bela mwana wa Beori alikuwa mfalme wa Edomu. Mji wake uliitwa Dinhaba.
33 zBela alipofariki, Yobabu mwana wa Zera kutoka Bosra akawa mfalme baada yake.
34 aaYobabu alipofariki, Hushamu kutoka nchi ya Watemani akawa mfalme baada yake.
35 abHushamu alipofariki, Hadadi mwana wa Bedadi, aliyeshinda Midiani katika nchi ya Moabu, akawa mfalme baada yake. Mji wake uliitwa Avithi.
36Hadadi alipofariki, Samla kutoka Masreka akawa mfalme baada yake.
37 acSamla alipofariki, Shauli kutoka Rehobothi ngʼambo ya Mto Frati akawa mfalme baada yake.
38Shauli alipofariki, Baal-Hanani mwana wa Akbori akawa mfalme baada yake.
39Baal-Hanani mwana wa Akbori alipofariki, Hadadi akawa mfalme baada yake. Mji wake uliitwa Pau, na mkewe aliitwa Mehetabeli binti Matredi, binti Me-Zahabu.
40 adHawa ndio wakuu waliotokana na Esau, kwa majina, kufuatana na koo zao na nchi zao:
Timna, Alva, Yethethi, 41Oholibama, Ela, Pinoni, 42Kenazi, Temani, Mibsari, 43 aeMagdieli na Iramu. Hawa ndio walikuwa wakuu wa Edomu, kufuatana na makazi yao katika nchi waliyoimiliki.
Huyu ndiye alikuwa Esau, baba wa Waedomu.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
