Yesu Awanawisha Wanafunzi Wake Miguu
1 aIlikuwa mara tu kabla ya Sikukuu ya Pasaka. Yesu alijua ya kuwa wakati wake wa kuondoka ulimwenguni ili kurudi kwa Baba umewadia. Alikuwa amewapenda watu wake waliokuwa ulimwenguni, naam, aliwapenda hadi kipimo cha mwisho.2 bWakati alipokuwa akila chakula cha jioni na wanafunzi wake, ibilisi alikuwa amekwisha kutia ndani ya moyo wa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni, wazo la kumsaliti Yesu. 3 cYesu akijua ya kwamba Baba ameweka vitu vyote chini ya mamlaka yake na kwamba yeye alitoka kwa Mungu na alikuwa anarudi kwa Mungu, 4 dhivyo aliondoka chakulani, akavua vazi lake la nje, akajifunga kitambaa kiunoni. 5 eKisha akamimina maji kwenye sinia na kuanza kuwanawisha wanafunzi wake miguu na kuikausha kwa kile kitambaa alichokuwa amejifunga kiunoni.
6 fAlipomfikia Simoni Petro, Petro akamwambia, “Bwana, je, wewe utaninawisha mimi miguu?”
7 gYesu akamjibu, “Hivi sasa hutambui lile ninalofanya, lakini baadaye utaelewa.”
8 hPetro akamwambia, “La, wewe hutaninawisha miguu kamwe.”
Yesu akamjibu, “Kama nisipokunawisha, wewe huna sehemu nami.”
9Ndipo Simoni Petro akajibu, “Usininawishe miguu peke yake, Bwana, bali pamoja na mikono na kichwa pia!”
10 iYesu akamjibu, “Mtu aliyekwisha kuoga anahitaji kunawa miguu tu, kwani mwili wake wote ni safi. Ninyi ni safi, ingawa si kila mmoja wenu.” 11 jKwa kuwa yeye alijua ni nani ambaye angemsaliti, ndiyo sababu akasema si kila mmoja aliyekuwa safi.
12Alipomaliza kuwanawisha miguu yao, alivaa tena mavazi yake, akarudi alikokuwa ameketi, akawauliza, “Je, mmeelewa nililowafanyia? 13 kNinyi mnaniita mimi ‘Mwalimu’ na ‘Bwana,’ hii ni sawa, maana ndivyo nilivyo. 14 lKwa hiyo, ikiwa mimi niliye Bwana wenu na Mwalimu wenu nimewanawisha ninyi miguu, pia hamna budi kunawishana miguu ninyi kwa ninyi. 15 mMimi nimewawekea kielelezo kwamba imewapasa kutenda kama vile nilivyowatendea ninyi. 16 nAmin, amin nawaambia, mtumishi si mkuu kuliko bwana wake, wala aliyetumwa si mkuu kuliko yule aliyemtuma. 17 oSasa kwa kuwa mmejua mambo haya, heri yenu ninyi kama mkiyatenda.
18 p “Sisemi hivi kuhusu ninyi nyote. Ninawajua wale niliowachagua. Lakini ni ili Andiko lipate kutimia, kwamba, ‘Yeye aliyekula chakula changu, ameinua kisigino chake dhidi yangu.’
19 q “Ninawaambia mambo haya kabla hayajatukia, ili yatakapotukia mpate kuamini ya kuwa Mimi ndiye. 20 rAmin, amin nawaambia, yeyote anayempokea yule niliyemtuma anipokea mimi, naye anipokeaye mimi ampokea yeye aliyenituma mimi.”

21 sBaada ya kusema haya, Yesu alifadhaika sana moyoni, akasema, “Amin, amin nawaambia, mmoja wenu atanisaliti.”22Wanafunzi wake wakatazamana bila kujua kuwa alikuwa anamsema nani. 23 tMmoja wa wanafunzi wake ambaye Yesu alimpenda sana, alikuwa ameegama kifuani mwa Yesu. 24Simoni Petro akampungia mkono yule mwanafunzi, akamwambia, “Muulize anamaanisha nani.”
25 uYule mwanafunzi akamwegemea Yesu, akamuuliza, “Bwana, tuambie, ni nani?”
26 vYesu akajibu, “Ni yule nitakayempa hiki kipande cha mkate baada ya kukichovya kwenye bakuli.” Hivyo baada ya kukichovya kile kipande cha mkate, akampa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni. 27 wMara tu baada ya kukipokea kile kipande cha mkate, Shetani akamwingia.
Yesu akamwambia Yuda, “Lile unalotaka kulitenda litende haraka.” 28Hakuna hata mmoja wa wale waliokuwa wameketi naye mezani aliyeelewa kwa nini Yesu alimwambia hivyo. 29 xKwa kuwa Yuda alikuwa mtunza fedha, wengine walifikiri Yesu alikuwa amemwambia akanunue vitu vilivyohitajika kwa ajili ya Sikukuu, au kuwapa maskini chochote. 30 yMara tu baada ya kupokea ule mkate, Yuda akatoka nje. Wakati huo ulikuwa ni usiku.

31 zBaada ya Yuda kutoka nje, Yesu akasema, “Sasa Mwana wa Adamu ametukuzwa, naye Mungu ametukuzwa ndani yake. 32 aaIkiwa Mungu ametukuzwa ndani ya Mwana, Mungu atamtukuza Mwana ndani yake mwenyewe naye atamtukuza mara.33 ab “Watoto wangu, mimi bado niko pamoja nanyi kwa kitambo kidogo. Mtanitafuta, na kama vile nilivyowaambia Wayahudi, vivyo hivyo sasa nawaambia na ninyi. Niendako, ninyi hamwezi kuja.
34 ac “Amri mpya nawapa: Mpendane kama mimi nilivyowapenda ninyi, vivyo hivyo nanyi mpendane. 35 adKama mkipendana ninyi kwa ninyi, kwa njia hii, watu wote watajua kuwa ninyi ni wanafunzi wangu.”
36 aeSimoni Petro akamuuliza, “Bwana, unakwenda wapi?”
Yesu akamjibu, “Ninakokwenda huwezi kunifuata sasa, lakini utanifuata baadaye.”
37 afPetro akamuuliza tena, “Bwana, kwa nini siwezi kukufuata sasa? Mimi niko tayari kuutoa uhai wangu kwa ajili yako.”
38 agYesu akamjibu, “Je, ni kweli uko tayari kuutoa uhai wako kwa ajili yangu? Amin, amin nakuambia, kabla jogoo hajawika, utanikana mara tatu.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
