Ibinalik ang Kahon ng Kasunduan sa Israel
1Nanatili ang Kahon ng Panginoon sa mga Filisteo sa loob ng pitong buwan. Noong naroon pa ang Kahon, 2ipinatawag ng mga Filisteo ang kanilang mga pari at manghuhula at nagtanong, “Ano ang gagawin namin sa Kahon ng Panginoon. Sabihin ninyo sa amin kung paano namin ito ibabalik sa kanyang lugar?” 3Sumagot sila, “Kung ibabalik ninyo ang Kahon ng Dios ng Israel, dapat samahan ninyo ito ng handog na pambayad ng kasalanan, sa pamamagitan nito, gagaling kayo at ihihinto na ng Dios ang pagpaparusa sa inyo.”4– 5Nagtanong ang mga Filisteo, “Ano ang ipapadala namin bilang handog na pambayad ng kasalanan?” Sumagot ang mga pari at manghuhula, “Gumawa kayo ng limang gintong estatwa na hugis tumor at limang gintong estatwa na hugis daga, ayon sa dami ng mga pinuno natin, dahil dumating sa atin at sa mga pinuno natin ang salot ng mga tumor at daga na naminsala sa ating lupain. Ihandog ninyo ito bilang pagpaparangal sa Dios ng Israel, baka sakaling itigil na niya ang pagpaparusa sa atin sa mga dios natin, at sa ating lupain. 6Huwag na ninyong patigasin ang mga puso ninyo gaya ng ginawa ng mga Egipcio at ng kanilang Faraon. Pinayagan lang nilang makaalis ang mga Israelita nang matindi na ang pagpapahirap sa kanila ng Dios. 7Kaya ngayon, gumawa kayo ng bagong kariton at kumuha ng dalawang inahing baka na hindi pa napapahila ng kariton. Ikabit ninyo ang kariton sa mga baka pero ihiwalay ninyo ang kanilang mga bisiro at ikulong sa kwadra. 8Pagkatapos, kunin ninyo ang Kahon ng Panginoon at ilagay sa kariton. Ilagay din ninyo sa tabi nito ang isang Kahon na may lamang mga gintong handog na mga tumor at daga na ipapadala ninyo bilang handog na pambayad ng kasalanan. Palakarin ninyo ang mga baka nang walang umaakay at pabayaan silang pumunta kahit saan. 9Pero tingnan ninyo kung saan sila pupunta. Kung lalakad sila paakyat sa Bet Shemesh, na isa sa mga bayan ng mga Israelita, malalaman natin na ang Panginoon ang nagpadala ng matinding pinsalang ito sa atin. Pero kung hindi ito tutuloy sa Bet Shemesh, malalaman natin na hindi ang Panginoon ang nagpaparusa sa atin. Kundi nagkataon lang ito.”
10Kaya sinunod nila ito. Kumuha sila ng dalawang inahing baka at ikinabit sa kariton. Ikinulong naman sa kwadra ang mga bisiro nito. 11Isinakay nila ang Kahon ng Panginoon sa kariton at ang kahon na may lamang mga ginto na hugis tumor at daga. 12Pagkatapos, lumakad ang mga baka patungo sa Bet Shemesh na hindi man lang lumilihis ng daan habang patuloy na umuunga. Sumusunod sa kanila ang mga pinuno ng mga Filisteo hanggang sa hangganan ng Bet Shemesh.
13Nang mga panahong iyon, nag-aani ang mga taga-Bet Shemesh ng trigo sa lambak. Nang makita nila ang Kahon ng Kasunduan, tuwang-tuwa sila. 14– 15Dumating ang kariton sa bukid ni Josue na taga-Bet Shemesh, at tumigil sa tabi ng isang malaking bato. Kinuha ng mga Levita ang Kahon ng Panginoon at ang kahon na may lamang mga gintong estatwa, at ipinatong sa malaking bato. Pagkatapos, sinibak nila ang kariton at inialay ang mga baka sa Panginoon bilang handog na sinusunog, at nag-alay sila ng iba pang mga handog. 16Nakita ng limang pinuno ng mga Filisteo ang lahat ng ito at pagkatapos ay umuwi sila sa Ekron nang araw ding iyon.
17Ang limang gintong hugis tumor na ipinadala ng mga Filisteo bilang handog na pambayad ng kasalanan ay galing sa mga pinuno ng Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gat at Ekron. 18Kasama ng limang gintong hugis daga, ayon na rin sa bilang ng limang bayan ng mga Filisteo. Itong mga napapaderang bayan at ang mga baryo na walang pader ay sakop ng limang pinunong iyon. Ang malaking bato sa bukid ni Josue ng Bet Shemesh na pinagpatungan nila ng Kahon ng Panginoon ay naroon pa hanggang ngayon bilang alaala sa nangyari roon.
19Ngunit may pinatay ang Dios na 70 tao na taga-Bet Shemesh dahil tiningnan nila ang laman ng Kahon ng Panginoon. Nagluksa ang mga tao dahil sa matinding dagok na ito ng Panginoon sa kanila. 20Nagtanong sila, “Sino ba ang makakaharap sa presensya ng Panginoon, ang banal na Dios? Saan ba natin ipapadala ang Kahon ng Panginoon para mailayo ito sa atin?” 21Pagkatapos, nagsugo sila ng mga mensahero sa mga taga-Kiriat Jearim at sinabi roon, “Ibinalik ng mga Filisteo ang Kahon ng Panginoon. Pumunta kayo rito at dalhin ninyo ito sa lugar ninyo.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
