Ang Paghahari ni Uzia sa Juda
(2 Hari 14:21-22; 15:1-7)
1Ang ipinalit ng mga mamamayan ng Juda kay Amazia bilang hari ay ang anak nitong si Uzia ▼▼Uzia: o, Azaria.
na 16 na taong gulang. 2Siya ang bumawi ng Elat ▼▼Elat: o, Elot.
at ang muling nagpatayo nito matapos mamatay ang ama niyang si Amazia. 3Si Uzia ay 16 na taong gulang nang maging hari. Sa Jerusalem siya tumira, at naghari siya roon sa loob ng 52 taon. Ang ina niya ay si Jecolia na taga-Jerusalem. 4Matuwid ang ginawa ni Uzia sa paningin ng Panginoon, katulad ng ginawa ng ama niyang si Amazia. 5Dumulog siya sa Dios nang panahon ni Zacarias, na siyang nagturo sa kanya sa paggalang sa Dios. Hanggaʼt dumudulog siya sa Panginoon, binibigyan siya nito ng katagumpayan. 6Nakipaglaban siya sa mga Filisteo at winasak niya ang mga pader sa mga lungsod ng Gat, Jabne at Ashdod. Pagkatapos, nagpatayo siya ng bagong mga bayan malapit sa Ashdod at sa iba pang mga bayan ng Filisteo. 7Tinulungan siya ng Dios sa kanyang pakikipaglaban sa mga Filisteo, Meuneo at sa mga Arabo na nakatira sa Gur Baal. 8Nagbabayad ng buwis ang mga Ammonita sa kanya, at naging tanyag siya hanggang sa Egipto, dahil naging makapangyarihan siya.
9Pinatatag pa ni Uzia ang Jerusalem sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatayo ng mga tore sa Sulok na Pintuan, sa Pintuan na Nakaharap sa Lambak, at sa likuan ng pader. 10Nagpatayo rin siya ng mga tore sa ilang at nagpahukay ng mga balon na imbakan ng mga tubig, dahil marami ang kanyang mga hayop sa mga kaburulan sa kanluran at sa kapatagan. May mga tauhan siya na nag-aalaga sa kanyang bukirin at ubasan sa kabundukan at sa kapatagan, dahil mahilig siyang magtanim.
11May mahuhusay na sundalo si Uzia na laging handa sa labanan. Silaʼy binuo nina Jeyel na kalihim at Maaseya na opisyal, sa ilalim ng pamamahala ni Hanania na isa sa mga opisyal ng hari. 12Ang mga kumander ng matatapang na sundalo ay ang mga pinuno ng mga pamilya na 2,600 lahat. 13Ang kabuuang bilang ng mga sundalo ay 307,500. Silaʼy mahuhusay sa labanan at handa sa pagtulong sa hari laban sa mga kaaway niya. 14Binigyan sila ni Uzia ng mga pananggalang, sibat, helmet, kasuotang panangga ng katawan, pana at tirador. 15Nagpagawa rin si Uzia sa mahuhusay na manggagawa ng makina para gamitin sa pamamana at sa paghahagis ng malalaking bato mula sa mga tore at sa mga sulok ng mga pader. Naging tanyag si Uzia kahit saan, dahil tinulungan siya ng Panginoon hanggang sa naging makapangyarihan siya.
16Pero nang naging makapangyarihan siya, naging mayabang siya. At ito ang nagpabagsak sa kanya. Hindi siya sumunod sa Panginoon na kanyang Dios, dahil pumasok siya sa templo ng Panginoon at personal na nagsunog ng insenso sa altar. 17Sinundan siya ni Azaria na punong pari at ng 80 pang matatapang na mga pari ng Panginoon, 18at sinaway. Sinabi nila, “Uzia, hindi ka dapat magsunog ng insenso para sa Panginoon. Ang gawaing iyan ay para lang sa mga pari na mula sa angkan ni Aaron. Sila ang pinili ng Panginoon para magsunog ng insenso. Lumabas ka sa templo dahil hindi ka sumunod sa Panginoon. Hindi ka pagpapalain ng Panginoong Dios.”
19Labis na nagalit si Uzia sa mga pari. At habang hawak niya ang sisidlan ng insenso sa may altar sa templo ng Panginoon, tinubuan ng malubhang sakit sa balat ▼

ang kanyang noo. 20Nang makita ni Azaria at ng mga kasama niyang pari na tinubuan ng malubhang sakit sa balat ang noo ni Uzia, nagmadali silang ilabas ito. Hindi naman ito tumutol sapagkat naramdaman niyang siyaʼy pinarusahan ng Panginoon. 21May malubhang sakit sa balat si Haring Uzia hanggang sa araw na namatay siya. Nakatira siya sa isang bukod na bahay, at hindi pinayagang makapasok sa templo. Si Jotam na anak niya ang siyang namahala sa palasyo at sa mga mamamayan ng Juda. 22Ang iba pang salaysay tungkol sa paghahari ni Uzia, mula sa simula hanggang sa katapusan ay isinulat ni Propeta Isaias na anak ni Amoz. 23Nang mamatay si Uzia, inilibing siya malapit sa libingan ng mga ninuno niyang hari. Hindi siya isinama sa kanila, dahil may malubhang sakit siya sa balat. At ang anak niyang si Jotam ang pumalit sa kanya bilang hari.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
