Ang mga Espiya
(Deu. 1:19-33)
1Sinabi ng Panginoon kay Moises, 2“Magpadala ka ng mga tao para mag-espiya sa Canaan – ang lupain na ibibigay ko sa inyong mga Israelita. Ang mga tao na iyong ipapadala ay ang mga pinuno ng bawat lahi ng Israel.” 3Kaya sinunod ni Moises ang iniutos sa kanya ng Panginoon. Ipinadala niya sa Canaan ang mga pinuno ng mga Israelita mula roon sa Disyerto ng Paran. 4– 5– 6– 7– 8– 9– 10– 11– 12– 13– 14–15 ▼

17Bago sila pinaalis ni Moises para mag-espiya sa Canaan, sinabi ni Moises sa kanila, “Maglakad kayo pahilaga at pumunta sa timog ng Canaan, ▼

at dumiretso sa kabundukan. 18Tingnan ninyo kung ano ang itsura ng lupain, at kung malakas ba o mahina ang mga tao roon, at kung marami sila o kaunti lang. 19Tingnan ninyo kung anong klase ng lupain ang kanilang tinitirhan, kung mabuti o hindi. Tingnan ninyo ang kanilang bayan kung napapalibutan ng pader o hindi. 20Tingnan din ninyo kung masagana ang lupa o hindi, at kung may mga puno o wala. At pagsikapan ninyong makapagdala ng prutas sa inyong pagbalik.” (Panahon noon ng paghinog ng ubas.) 21Kaya naglakad sila at tinanaw nila ang lupain mula sa ilang ng Zin hanggang sa Rehob malapit sa Lebo Hamat. 22Nag-umpisa sila sa Negev hanggang sa nakarating sila sa Hebron, kung saan nakatira sina Ahiman, Sheshai at Talmai, na mga angkan ni Anak. (Itinayo ang Hebron pitong taon bago itinayo ang Zoan sa Egipto.) 23Pagdating nila sa Lambak ng Eshcol, pumutol sila ng isang kumpol ng ubas. Masyadong mabigat ito kaya itinali nila ito sa isang tukod at magkatulong na binuhat ng dalawang tao. Nagdala rin sila ng mga prutas na pomegranata at igos. 24Tinatawag ang lugar na iyon na Lambak ng Eshcol ▼

dahil sa kumpol ng ubas na pinutol ng mga Israelita. 25Pagkatapos ng 40 araw na pag-espiya sa lupain, bumalik sila 26kina Moises, Aaron at sa buong mamamayan ng Israel sa Kadesh, doon sa disyerto ng Paran. Sinabi nila sa buong kapulungan ang kanilang nakita, at ipinakita nila ang kanilang dalang mga prutas. 27Sinabi nila kay Moises, “Pumunta kami sa lugar na pinapuntahan mo sa amin, maganda at masaganang lupain ▼
▼maganda at masaganang lupain: sa literal, lupain na dumadaloy ang gatas at pulot.
iyon. Sa katunayan, heto ang mga prutas. 28Pero makapangyarihan ang mga taong nakatira roon, at malalaki ang kanilang mga lungsod at napapalibutan ng mga pader. Nakita pa namin ang mga angkan ni Anak. 29Nakatira ang mga Amalekita sa Negev; ang mga Heteo, Jebuseo at mga Amoreo sa kabundukan; at ang mga Cananeo naman ay nakatira malapit sa dagat at sa tabi ng Ilog ng Jordan.” 30Pinakalma ni Caleb ang mga tao sa harapan ni Moises, at sinabi niya, “Lalakad tayo at sasakupin natin ang lupain, dahil nasisiguro kong maaagaw natin ito.”
31Pero sinabi ng mga tao na sumama kay Caleb para mag-espiya, “Hindi natin makakaya ang pagsalakay sa kanila dahil mas malakas sila sa atin.” 32At ipinalaganap nila sa mga Israelita ang masamang balita tungkol sa lupain na kanilang tiningnan. Ito ang kanilang sinabi, “Hindi maganda ang lupaing nakita namin doon, at hindi lang iyan, malalaki ang mga taong nakita namin doon, sobrang tangkad. 33May nakita pa kaming mga higante, ▼

na mga angkan ni Anak. Parang mga tipaklong lang ang tingin namin sa aming mga sarili kung ikukumpara sa kanila, at ganyan din ang kanilang tingin sa amin.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
