อิสราเอลกบฏต่อเรโหโบอัม
(2พศด.10:1—11:4)
1เรโหโบอัมเสด็จไปที่เชเคม เพราะชาวอิสราเอลทั้งปวงพากันไปที่นั่นเพื่อตั้งเรโหโบอัมขึ้นเป็นกษัตริย์ 2เมื่อเยโรโบอัมบุตรเนบัท (ซึ่งหนีกษัตริย์โซโลมอนไปอยู่ในอียิปต์) ทราบข่าว จึงกลับมาจากอียิปต์ ▼▼หรือทราบข่าวก็ยังคงอยู่ในอียิปต์
3พวกเขาก็ส่งคนไปตามเยโรโบอัมมา แล้วเขากับชุมนุมประชากรอิสราเอลทั้งปวงก็เข้าเฝ้าและทูลเรโหโบอัมว่า 4“ราชบิดาของฝ่าพระบาททรงวางแอกหนักให้พวกข้าพระบาท บัดนี้ขอทรงผ่อนภาระและบรรเทาแอกที่วางไว้ แล้วพวกข้าพระบาทจะรับใช้ฝ่าพระบาท” 5เรโหโบอัมตรัสตอบว่า “ให้เวลาเราสามวัน แล้วพวกท่านค่อยกลับมาพบเรา” ประชากรจึงกลับไป
6กษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมทรงหารือกับบรรดาผู้อาวุโสซึ่งเคยถวายคำปรึกษาแด่โซโลมอนราชบิดาเมื่อครั้งยังทรงพระชนม์อยู่ว่า “ท่านว่าเราควรจะตอบประชาชนเหล่านี้ว่าอย่างไร?”
7พวกเขาทูลว่า “หากวันนี้ฝ่าพระบาทจะทรงเป็นผู้รับใช้ประชาชน ปรนนิบัติเขา และตอบตามที่เขาต้องการ พวกเขาก็จะเป็นผู้รับใช้ของฝ่าพระบาทเสมอไป”
8แต่เรโหโบอัมไม่ฟังคำแนะนำของผู้อาวุโส กลับปรึกษาพระสหายหนุ่มๆ ซึ่งเติบโตมาด้วยกันและรับใช้พระองค์อยู่ 9พระองค์ตรัสถามพวกเขาว่า “พวกเจ้าจะแนะนำอย่างไร? เราควรจะตอบคนที่มาพูดกับเราว่า ‘ขอทรงผ่อนปรนแอกที่ราชบิดาของฝ่าพระบาทวางไว้บนเหล่าข้าพระบาท’ ว่าอย่างไร?”
10พวกคนหนุ่มที่เติบโตขึ้นมากับพระองค์ก็ทูลตอบว่า “ขอให้ตรัสกับบรรดาผู้ที่มาทูลว่า ‘ราชบิดาของฝ่าพระบาททรงวางแอกหนักบนเรา ขอทรงทำให้แอกของเราเบาลง’ นั้นว่า ‘นิ้วก้อยของเราก็หนายิ่งกว่าเอวของเสด็จพ่อเสียอีก 11เสด็จพ่อของเราวางแอกหนักบนพวกเจ้า เราจะทำให้หนักยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก เสด็จพ่อของเราเคยใช้แส้เฆี่ยนพวกเจ้า ส่วนเราจะใช้แมงป่องเล่นงานพวกเจ้า’ ”
12สามวันต่อมาเยโรโบอัมและประชากรทั้งปวงกลับมาเข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมตามที่ตรัสไว้ว่า “อีกสามวันค่อยกลับมาพบเรา” 13กษัตริย์ตรัสตอบประชาชนด้วยท่าทีแข็งกร้าว ทรงปฏิเสธคำแนะนำของบรรดาผู้อาวุโส 14พระองค์ทรงทำตามคำแนะนำของพวกคนหนุ่มและตรัสว่า “เสด็จพ่อของเราวางแอกหนักให้พวกเจ้า เราจะให้หนักยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก เสด็จพ่อของเราเคยใช้แส้เฆี่ยนเจ้า ส่วนเราจะใช้แมงป่องเล่นงานเจ้า” 15ดังนั้นกษัตริย์ไม่ทรงรับฟังประชาชน เหตุการณ์นี้มาจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เพื่อให้สำเร็จตามที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสไว้กับเยโรโบอัมบุตรเนบัทผ่านทางอาหิยาห์ชาวชิโลห์
16เมื่ออิสราเอลทั้งปวงเห็นว่ากษัตริย์ไม่ทรงฟังพวกตน พวกเขาก็ตอบกษัตริย์ว่า
“เราเกี่ยวข้องอะไรกับดาวิด?
เรามีส่วนอันใดกับบุตรเจสซี?
อิสราเอลเอ๋ย กลับบ้านกันเถิด!
ให้ดาวิดดูแลปกครองพวกตัวเองไปก็แล้วกัน!”
ดังนั้นชนอิสราเอลจึงพากันกลับบ้าน 17แต่เรโหโบอัมยังคงปกครองคนอิสราเอลซึ่งอยู่ในเมืองต่างๆ ของยูดาห์
18กษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมทรงใช้อาโดนีรัม ▼

ไปเกณฑ์แรงงานโยธาตามหน้าที่ แต่อิสราเอลทั้งปวงรุมเอาก้อนหินขว้างเขาจนตาย ส่วนกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมรีบหลบขึ้นราชรถ เสด็จหนีกลับกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 19ตั้งแต่นั้นมาอิสราเอลก็กบฏต่อราชวงศ์ของดาวิดจนถึงทุกวันนี้ 20เมื่อชนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงทราบว่าเยโรโบอัมกลับมาแล้ว ก็ให้คนไปเชิญเขามาอยู่ต่อหน้าชุมนุมประชากรอิสราเอล และแต่งตั้งเป็นกษัตริย์ปกครองอิสราเอล มีเพียงเผ่ายูดาห์ที่ยังคงจงรักภักดีต่อราชวงศ์ของดาวิด
21เมื่อเรโหโบอัมเสด็จมาถึงเยรูซาเล็ม พระองค์ทรงระดมพลรบจากเผ่ายูดาห์ทั้งหมดและเผ่าเบนยามินรวมทั้งหมด 180,000 คน เพื่อทำสงครามกับชนอิสราเอล กอบกู้อาณาจักรคืนมาให้เรโหโบอัมโอรสของโซโลมอน
22แต่พระดำรัสของพระเจ้ามาถึงเชไมอาห์คนของพระเจ้าดังนี้ 23“จงไปบอกเรโหโบอัมโอรสของโซโลมอนกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ ชนเผ่ายูดาห์กับเบนยามินทั้งหมด และประชากรที่เหลือว่า 24‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า อย่าไปรบกับอิสราเอลพี่น้องของเจ้า ทุกคนจงกลับบ้านไป เพราะทั้งหมดนี้เราเป็นผู้กระทำ’ ” พวกเขาก็เชื่อฟังพระดำรัสขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าและพากันกลับบ้านตามที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงบัญชา

26เยโรโบอัมดำริว่า “บัดนี้ราชอาณาจักรอาจจะหวนกลับไปยังราชวงศ์ดาวิดก็ได้ 27หากประชากรเหล่านี้ไปถวายเครื่องบูชาที่พระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าในเยรูซาเล็ม พวกเขาจะกลับไปสวามิภักดิ์ต่อกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมแห่งยูดาห์นายของเขา เขาจะฆ่าเราและหันกลับไปหากษัตริย์เรโหโบอัม”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
