ราชินีแห่งเชบามาเยือนโซโลมอน
(1พกษ.10:1-13)
1เมื่อราชินีแห่งเชบาทรงได้ยินกิตติศัพท์ของโซโลมอน ก็เสด็จมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเพื่อทดสอบพระองค์โดยตั้งปัญหายากๆ พระนางทรงมาถึงกรุงเยรูซาเล็มพร้อมกับกองคาราวานใหญ่ มีอูฐบรรทุกเครื่องเทศ ทองคำจำนวนมาก และเพชรนิลจินดา พระนางเข้าเฝ้าโซโลมอนและทรงสนทนาทุกเรื่องที่ทรงดำริไว้ 2โซโลมอนทรงตอบปัญหาของพระนางได้ทุกข้อ ไม่มีสิ่งใดยากเกินกว่าที่พระองค์จะทรงอธิบายแก่พระนาง 3เมื่อราชินีแห่งเชบาทรงเห็นพระสติปัญญาของโซโลมอน และพระราชวังที่ทรงสร้างขึ้น 4อาหารบนโต๊ะเสวย ข้าราชบริพารที่เข้าเฝ้า มหาดเล็กในเครื่องแบบ และพนักงานเชิญจอกเสวยในเครื่องแบบ และเครื่องเผาบูชามากมายซึ่งถวายที่พระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระนางก็ประหลาดพระทัยเป็นล้นพ้น5พระนางตรัสกับกษัตริย์ว่า “ที่หม่อมฉันได้ยินได้ฟังมาในประเทศของหม่อมฉันเกี่ยวกับความสำเร็จและพระปรีชาญาณของฝ่าพระบาทล้วนเป็นความจริง 6แต่หม่อมฉันไม่เชื่อมาก่อนเลยจนกระทั่งได้มาเห็นกับตา แท้จริงแล้วที่หม่อมฉันได้ยินมาก็ยังไม่ถึงครึ่งของพระปรีชาญาณของฝ่าพระบาท ฝ่าพระบาททรงยิ่งใหญ่กว่าที่เขาร่ำลือกันมากนัก 7ไพร่ฟ้าของฝ่าพระบาทคงมีความสุขยิ่งนัก! ข้าราชบริพารของฝ่าพระบาทคงมีความสุขที่ได้เข้าเฝ้าและสดับฟังพระปัญญาของฝ่าพระบาทอยู่เสมอ! 8สรรเสริญพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของฝ่าพระบาทที่ได้ทรงโปรดปรานและตั้งฝ่าพระบาท ขึ้นเป็นกษัตริย์ครองบัลลังก์ของพระองค์ และปกครองในพระนามของพระเจ้าพระยาห์เวห์ เพราะพระเจ้าของฝ่าพระบาททรงรักอิสราเอลยิ่งนัก และทรงประสงค์จะเชิดชูอิสราเอลไว้ตลอดกาล จึงทรงตั้งฝ่าพระบาทเป็นกษัตริย์เหนือพวกเขาเพื่อผดุงความยุติธรรมและความชอบธรรม”
9จากนั้นพระนางถวายทองคำหนักประมาณ 4 ตัน ▼

13ทุกปีโซโลมอนได้รับทองคำหนักประมาณ 23 ตัน ▼▼ภาษาฮีบรูว่า 666 ตะลันต์
14ยังไม่รวมภาษีอากรที่พ่อค้าวาณิชนำมา รวมทั้งเงินและทองจากบรรดากษัตริย์อาระเบีย และเหล่าผู้ปกครองของดินแดนนั้นนำมาถวาย 15กษัตริย์โซโลมอนทรงให้นำทองคำมาตีเป็นโล่ใหญ่สองร้อยอัน แต่ละอันใช้ทองคำหนักประมาณ 3.5 กิโลกรัม ▼

พระองค์ทรงเก็บโล่เหล่านี้ไว้ในตำหนักพนาเลบานอน 17แล้วกษัตริย์ยังได้ทรงทำพระที่นั่งขนาดใหญ่ ตกแต่งด้วยงาช้างและบุด้วยทองคำบริสุทธิ์ 18พระที่นั่งนี้มีบันไดหกขั้นและแท่นรองพระบาททำด้วยทองคำติดกัน ที่วางพระหัตถ์ทั้งสองข้างมีสิงโตขนาบข้างละตัว 19ที่บันไดแต่ละขั้นมีสิงโตยืนอยู่ข้างละตัว รวมเป็นสิบสองตัว ไม่เคยมีเช่นนี้ในราชอาณาจักรอื่น 20ถ้วยเสวยทุกใบของกษัตริย์โซโลมอนทำด้วยทองคำ และเครื่องใช้ไม้สอยทั้งหมดในตำหนักพนาเลบานอนล้วนทำด้วยทองคำบริสุทธิ์ ไม่มีสิ่งใดทำด้วยเงิน เพราะในสมัยโซโลมอนถือว่าเงินด้อยค่า 21กษัตริย์ทรงมีกองเรือพาณิชย์ ▼

25โซโลมอนทรงมีที่เก็บรถม้าศึกและม้า 4,000 แห่ง และมีม้า 12,000 ตัว ▼

ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเก็บบางส่วนไว้ที่หัวเมืองซึ่งใช้เก็บรถม้าศึกและบางส่วนอยู่กับพระองค์ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 26ทรงปกครองบรรดากษัตริย์และราชอาณาจักรต่างๆ ตั้งแต่แม่น้ำยูเฟรติส จนจดดินแดนฟีลิสเตียและไกลถึงพรมแดนอียิปต์ 27พระองค์ทรงทำให้เงินในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มมีมากมายเหมือนก้อนหิน และมีไม้สนซีดาร์ดาษดื่นเหมือนต้นมะเดื่อแถบเชิงเขา 28ม้าของโซโลมอนนั้นนำเข้าจากอียิปต์ ▼▼อาจจะเป็นมูศูร์ซึ่งเป็นเขตหนึ่งในซิลิเซีย

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
