คำสัญญาของพระเจ้าต่อดาวิด
(1พศด.17:1-15)
1หลังจากกษัตริย์ดาวิดเข้าประทับในพระราชวัง และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประทานการพักสงบจากศัตรูรอบด้านแล้ว 2ดาวิดตรัสกับผู้เผยพระวจนะนาธันว่า “ดูเถิด เราอยู่ในวังไม้สนซีดาร์ ในขณะที่หีบพันธสัญญาของพระเจ้ายังคงอยู่ในเต็นท์”3นาธันทูลว่า “ขอทรงทำตามพระดำริของฝ่าพระบาทเถิดเพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าสถิตกับฝ่าพระบาท”
4ในคืนนั้น มีพระดำรัสขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามาถึงนาธันความว่า
5“จงไปบอกดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่า ‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าจะเป็นผู้สร้างวิหารให้เราอยู่หรือ? 6เราไม่เคยอยู่ในวิหารเลยนับตั้งแต่เรานำอิสราเอลออกมาจากอียิปต์จวบจนทุกวันนี้ เราย้ายจากที่หนึ่งไปยังอีกที่หนึ่งโดยมีเต็นท์เป็นที่สถิต 7ไม่ว่าเราไปที่ไหนกับชนอิสราเอล เราเคยออกปากกับผู้ปกครองคนใดซึ่งเราสั่งให้เลี้ยงดูอิสราเอลประชากรของเราหรือว่า “ทำไมไม่สร้างวิหารด้วยไม้สนซีดาร์ให้เรา?”’
8“บัดนี้จงบอกดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่าพระยาห์เวห์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ตรัสว่า ‘เราพาเจ้าออกมาจากทุ่งหญ้า จากการต้อนฝูงแกะมาปกครองอิสราเอลประชากรของเรา 9เราอยู่กับเจ้าไม่ว่าเจ้าไปที่ไหน และเราทำลายศัตรูทั้งปวงของเจ้าออกไปให้พ้นหน้าเจ้า บัดนี้เราจะทำให้นามของเจ้าเลื่องลือไปเหมือนนามบุคคลสำคัญทั้งหลายของโลก 10และเราจัดเตรียมที่แห่งหนึ่งให้อิสราเอลประชากรของเราตั้งรกราก เพื่อเขาจะมีบ้านเรือนเป็นของตนเองและไม่ต้องถูกรบกวนอีก คนชั่วจะไม่มาข่มเหงรังแกพวกเขาอย่างที่เคยทำอีกต่อไป 11และเป็นอย่างนั้นเรื่อยมานับตั้งแต่เราได้แต่งตั้งผู้นำทั้งหลาย ▼

18จากนั้นกษัตริย์ดาวิดจึงเสด็จเข้าไปประทับนั่งต่อหน้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าและทูลว่า“ข้าแต่พระยาห์เวห์องค์เจ้าชีวิต ข้าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใดเล่า วงศ์ตระกูลของข้าพระองค์เป็นใครหนอ พระองค์จึงทรงนำข้าพระองค์มาถึงเพียงนี้? 19และไม่เพียงเท่านี้ ข้าแต่พระยาห์เวห์องค์เจ้าชีวิต พระองค์ยังตรัสถึงอนาคตของวงศ์วานผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ทรงกรุณาต่อมนุษย์เช่นนี้เสมอๆ หรือ ข้าแต่พระยาห์เวห์องค์เจ้าชีวิต?
20“ดาวิดจะกราบทูลอะไรมากไปกว่านี้ได้? เพราะพระองค์ทรงรู้จักผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ข้าแต่พระยาห์เวห์องค์เจ้าชีวิต 21พระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ยิ่งใหญ่นี้และให้เป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่ผู้รับใช้เพราะเห็นแก่พระวจนะของพระองค์ และตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์
22“ข้าแต่พระยาห์เวห์องค์เจ้าชีวิต พระองค์ทรงยิ่งใหญ่นัก! เท่าที่ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้ยินมากับหู ไม่มีผู้ใดเสมอเหมือนพระองค์ ไม่มีพระเจ้าอื่นใดนอกจากพระองค์ 23และมีชนชาติใดเล่าทั่วพิภพที่เสมอเหมือนอิสราเอลประชากรของพระองค์ ที่พระเจ้าเสด็จมาไถ่เขาในฐานะประชากรเพื่อพระองค์เอง และเพื่อนำเกียรติยศมาสู่พระนามของพระองค์ ทรงกระทำการอัศจรรย์อันยิ่งใหญ่น่าเกรงขาม โดยขับไล่ประชาชาติต่างๆ และพระของพวกเขาออกไปให้พ้นหน้าประชากรของพระองค์ซึ่งทรงไถ่ออกจากอียิปต์ ▼

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
