ไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
1เมื่อเราแยกจากคนเหล่านั้นแล้วเราก็ออกทะเล แล่นตรงมาที่เกาะโขส ถึงเกาะโรดส์ในวันรุ่งขึ้น และจากที่นั่นมาถึงเมืองปาทารา 2เราพบเรือลำหนึ่งกำลังข้ามไปยังเมืองฟีนิเซียจึงลงเรือลำนั้นไป 3หลังจากเห็นเกาะไซปรัสและล่องผ่านทางใต้ของเกาะลงมาถึงแคว้นซีเรีย เรือก็เทียบท่าและขนสินค้าลงที่เมืองไทระ 4เราพบพวกสาวกที่นั่นและพักอยู่กับพวกเขาเจ็ดวัน พวกเขารบเร้าเปาโลโดยการทรงนำของพระวิญญาณไม่ให้เขาไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 5แต่เมื่อถึงเวลาเราก็อำลาและออกเดินทางต่อ สาวกทั้งปวงตลอดจนภรรยากับลูกๆ ของพวกเขามาส่งเราออกจากเมืองและเราคุกเข่าลงอธิษฐานกันที่ชายหาด 6หลังจากร่ำลากันแล้วเราก็ลงเรือส่วนพวกเขาก็กลับบ้าน7จากเมืองไทระเราเดินทางต่อมาขึ้นฝั่งที่เมืองทอเลมาอิส ที่นั่นเราได้ทักทายพวกพี่น้องและพักอยู่กับพวกเขาหนึ่งวัน 8วันรุ่งขึ้นเราออกจากที่นั่นและมาถึงเมืองซีซารียา เราพักอยู่ที่บ้านของฟีลิปผู้ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในคณะเจ็ดคน 9ฟีลิปมีบุตรสาวที่ยังไม่ได้สมรสสี่คนเป็นผู้พยากรณ์
10หลังจากเราอยู่ที่นั่นหลายวันแล้วก็มีผู้พยากรณ์คนหนึ่งชื่ออากาบัส มาจากแคว้นยูเดีย 11เขาเข้ามาหาเรา เอาสายคาดเอวของเปาโลมัดมือมัดเท้าของตนและกล่าวว่า “พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ตรัสว่า ‘ชาวยิวในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มจะมัดเจ้าของสายคาดเอวนี้อย่างนี้แหละและจะมอบเขาให้คนต่างชาติ’ ”
12เมื่อได้ฟังเช่นนี้เรากับคนที่นั่นจึงอ้อนวอนเปาโลไม่ให้ไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 13เปาโลตอบว่า “พวกท่านร้องไห้และทำให้ข้าพเจ้าชอกช้ำใจทำไมเล่า? อย่าว่าแต่ถูกมัดเลย ต่อให้ต้องตายในเยรูซาเล็มเพื่อพระนามขององค์พระเยซูเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าก็พร้อมแล้ว” 14เมื่อเขาไม่ยอมโอนอ่อนผ่อนตามเราจึงเลิกอ้อนวอนและกล่าวว่า “ขอให้เป็นไปตามพระประสงค์ขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า”
15หลังจากนั้นเราก็เตรียมตัวและขึ้นไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 16สาวกบางคนจากเมืองซีซารียามากับเราด้วยและนำเรามาพักที่บ้านของมนาสัน เขามาจากเกาะไซปรัสและเป็นสาวกรุ่นแรกๆ

17เมื่อเรามาถึงกรุงเยรูซาเล็มพวกพี่น้องต้อนรับเราอย่างอบอุ่น 18วันรุ่งขึ้นเปาโลกับพวกเราไปพบยากอบและผู้ปกครองทั้งปวงก็อยู่พร้อมหน้ากันที่นั่น 19เปาโลทักทายพวกเขาและรายงานสิ่งที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงกระทำในหมู่คนต่างชาติผ่านทางพันธกิจของเขาอย่างละเอียด20เมื่อพวกเขาได้ฟังแล้วก็สรรเสริญพระเจ้าและกล่าวกับเปาโลว่า “พี่เอ๋ย ท่านก็เห็นชาวยิวหลายพันคนได้เชื่อและพวกเขาทั้งหมดล้วนแต่เคร่งครัดร้อนรนในบทบัญญัติ 21พวกเขาได้ข่าวว่าท่านสอนบรรดาชาวยิวที่อยู่ในหมู่คนต่างชาติให้หันหนีจากโมเสสโดยบอกพวกเขาว่าไม่ต้องให้ลูกหลานเข้าสุหนัตหรือยึดถือธรรมเนียมของเรา 22จะให้พวกเราทำอย่างไร? พวกเขาย่อมรู้ว่าท่านมาแล้ว 23ดังนั้นจงทำตามที่เราบอก เรามีสี่คนที่สาบานตัวไว้ 24ท่านจงพาคนเหล่านี้ไปทำพิธีชำระตัวร่วมกับเขาและจ่ายค่าธรรมเนียมให้พวกเขาเพื่อเขาจะได้โกนผม แล้วทุกคนจะได้รู้ว่าสิ่งที่ได้ยินมาเกี่ยวกับท่านนั้นไม่เป็นความจริง ที่แท้ท่านเองดำเนินชีวิตตามบทบัญญัติต่างหาก 25สำหรับผู้เชื่อชาวต่างชาติเราได้เขียนจดหมายแจ้งมติของเราที่ให้พวกเขางดจากอาหารที่เซ่นสังเวยแก่รูปเคารพ จากเลือด จากเนื้อสัตว์ที่ถูกรัดคอตาย และจากการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ”

27เมื่อใกล้ครบเจ็ดวันชาวยิวบางคนจากแคว้นเอเชียเห็นเปาโลที่พระวิหารก็ปลุกปั่นฝูงชนทั้งปวงแล้วจับเปาโล 28พวกเขาร้องตะโกนว่า “ชนอิสราเอลเอ๋ย มาช่วยเราเถิด! นี่คือคนที่เสี้ยมสอนคนทั้งปวงทุกหนทุกแห่งให้ต่อต้านชนชาติของเรา ให้ต่อต้านธรรมบัญญัติของเราและสถานที่แห่งนี้ ยิ่งไปกว่านั้นเขาได้พาชาวกรีกเข้ามาในบริเวณพระวิหารทำให้สถานบริสุทธิ์นี้เป็นมลทิน” 29(ก่อนหน้านี้พวกเขาเห็นโตรฟีมัสชาวเอเฟซัสอยู่กับเปาโลในเมืองจึงคิดว่าเปาโลได้พาเขาเข้าไปในบริเวณพระวิหาร)30คนทั้งเมืองจึงลุกฮือขึ้นและผู้คนจากทุกสารทิศวิ่งเข้ามาจับเปาโลลากตัวเขาออกจากพระวิหารแล้วประตูก็ปิดทันที 31ขณะพวกเขากำลังหาทางจะฆ่าเปาโล ข่าวก็ไปถึงผู้บังคับกองพันทหารโรมันว่าทั่วทั้งกรุงเยรูซาเล็มอยู่ในความวุ่นวาย 32เขาจึงนำเจ้าหน้าที่กับทหารวิ่งมาที่ฝูงชนทันที เมื่อพวกก่อความวุ่นวายเห็นนายพันกับทหารมาก็หยุดทุบตีเปาโล
33นายพันตรงเข้ามาจับเปาโลสั่งให้เอาโซ่สองเส้นล่ามไว้ แล้วถามว่าเขาเป็นใครและทำอะไรลงไป 34บางคนในหมู่ชนตะโกนว่าอย่างนี้ อีกคนว่าอย่างนั้น วุ่นวายจนนายพันจับความไม่ได้ว่าความจริงเป็นอย่างไรกันแน่จึงสั่งให้นำตัวเปาโลเข้าไปในกองทหาร 35เมื่อมาถึงบันไดต้องให้ทหารหามตัวเปาโลไปเนื่องจากฝูงคนกำลังบ้าคลั่ง 36ฝูงชนที่ตามมาเอาแต่ตะโกนว่า “ฆ่ามัน!”
เปาโลกล่าวกับประชาชน
37ขณะที่พวกทหารจะนำเปาโลเข้าไปในกองทหารเขาถามนายพันว่า “ข้าพเจ้าขอพูดอะไรกับท่านสักหน่อยได้ไหม?”นายพันถามว่า “เจ้าพูดภาษากรีกได้หรือ? 38เจ้าไม่ใช่คนอียิปต์ที่ก่อนหน้านี้ได้ก่อกบฏและนำผู้ก่อการร้ายสี่พันคนเข้าไปในถิ่นกันดารหรอกหรือ?”
39เปาโลตอบว่า “ข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนยิวจากเมืองทาร์ซัสในแคว้นซิลีเซีย เป็นพลเมืองจากเมืองสำคัญ โปรดอนุญาตให้ข้าพเจ้ากล่าวกับประชาชน”
40เมื่อนายพันอนุญาตแล้ว เปาโลจึงยืนอยู่ที่บันไดและโบกมือให้ฝูงชน เมื่อคนทั้งปวงเงียบลงเปาโลจึงกล่าวเป็นภาษาอารเมค ▼

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
