พระเยซูทรงสนทนากับหญิงชาวสะมาเรีย
1พวกฟาริสีได้ยินว่าพระเยซูทรงมีสาวกและให้บัพติศมามากกว่ายอห์น 2อันที่จริงไม่ใช่พระเยซูแต่สาวกของพระองค์ต่างหากที่ให้บัพติศมา 3เมื่อพระเยซูทรงทราบเช่นนี้ก็เสด็จจากแคว้นยูเดียกลับไปยังแคว้นกาลิลีอีก4พระองค์ต้องเสด็จผ่านแคว้นสะมาเรีย 5จึงเสด็จมายังเมืองหนึ่งในแคว้นสะมาเรียชื่อสิคาร์ ใกล้ที่ดินแปลงที่ยาโคบยกให้โยเซฟบุตรชายของเขา 6บ่อน้ำของยาโคบอยู่ที่นั่น และพระเยซูทรงเหน็ดเหนื่อยจากการเดินทางจึงประทับนั่งข้างๆ บ่อ ขณะนั้นเป็นเวลาประมาณเที่ยง
7เมื่อหญิงชาวสะมาเรียคนหนึ่งมาตักน้ำ พระเยซูตรัสกับนางว่า “ขอน้ำให้เราดื่มหน่อยได้ไหม?” 8(สาวกของพระองค์เข้าไปซื้ออาหารในเมือง)
9หญิงชาวสะมาเรียทูลว่า “ท่านเป็นยิว ส่วนดิฉันเป็นหญิงชาวสะมาเรีย ท่านมาขอน้ำจากดิฉันได้อย่างไร?” (เพราะชาวยิวไม่คบหากับชาวสะมาเรีย ▼

) 10พระเยซูตรัสตอบนางว่า “ถ้าเจ้ารู้จักของที่พระเจ้าประทานและรู้จักผู้ที่ขอน้ำจากเจ้า เจ้าคงจะขอจากผู้นั้นและผู้นั้นจะให้น้ำซึ่งให้ชีวิตแก่เจ้า”
11หญิงนั้นทูลว่า “ท่านเจ้าข้า ท่านไม่มีอะไรที่จะใช้ตักน้ำและบ่อก็ลึก ท่านจะได้น้ำซึ่งให้ชีวิตมาจากไหน? 12ท่านยิ่งใหญ่กว่ายาโคบบรรพบุรุษของเราผู้ซึ่งให้บ่อนี้แก่เราหรือ? และยาโคบเองกับลูกหลานตลอดจนฝูงสัตว์ก็ดื่มน้ำจากบ่อนี้”
13พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า “ทุกคนที่ดื่มน้ำนี้จะกระหายอีก 14แต่ผู้ใดดื่มน้ำที่เราให้จะไม่กระหายอีกเลย อันที่จริงน้ำซึ่งเราให้เขานั้นจะกลายเป็นน้ำพุในตัวเขาพลุ่งขึ้นสู่ชีวิตนิรันดร์”
15หญิงนั้นทูลพระองค์ว่า “ท่านเจ้าข้า โปรดให้น้ำนั้นแก่ดิฉันเพื่อดิฉันจะไม่กระหายอีกและไม่ต้องกลับมาตักน้ำที่นี่เสมอๆ”
16พระเยซูตรัสบอกนางว่า “จงไปเรียกสามีของเจ้ามา”
17นางทูลว่า “ดิฉันไม่มีสามี”
พระเยซูตรัสกับนางว่า “เจ้าพูดถูกที่ว่าไม่มีสามี 18อันที่จริงเจ้ามีสามีห้าคนแล้ว และชายคนที่เจ้าอยู่ด้วยขณะนี้ก็ไม่ใช่สามีของเจ้า สิ่งที่เจ้าเพิ่งพูดไปนั้นก็ออกจะจริงทีเดียว”
19หญิงนั้นทูลว่า “ท่านเจ้าข้า ดิฉันเห็นแล้วว่าท่านเป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะ 20บรรพบุรุษของเรานมัสการที่ภูเขานี้ แต่พวกท่านชาวยิวอ้างว่าเราต้องนมัสการที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม”
21พระเยซูประกาศว่า “หญิงเอ๋ย เชื่อเราเถิด ใกล้ถึงเวลาแล้ว เมื่อพวกท่านจะนมัสการพระบิดาไม่ใช่ที่ภูเขานี้หรือที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม 22พวกท่านชาวสะมาเรียนมัสการสิ่งที่ท่านไม่รู้จัก ส่วนเรานมัสการสิ่งที่เรารู้จักเพราะความรอดมาจากพวกยิว 23กระนั้นก็ใกล้ถึงเวลาแล้ว และบัดนี้ก็ถึงเวลาแล้วที่ผู้นมัสการอย่างถูกต้องจะนมัสการพระบิดาด้วยจิตวิญญาณและความจริง เพราะพวกเขาเป็น ผู้นมัสการแบบที่พระบิดาทรงแสวงหา 24พระเจ้าทรงเป็นพระวิญญาณ ผู้ที่นมัสการพระองค์ต้องนมัสการด้วยจิตวิญญาณและความจริง”
25หญิงนั้นทูลว่า “ดิฉันรู้ว่าพระเมสสิยาห์ (ที่เรียกว่าพระคริสต์) กำลังเสด็จมา เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาแล้ว จะทรงอธิบายทุกสิ่งแก่เรา”
26แล้วพระเยซูทรงประกาศว่า “เราที่พูดอยู่กับเจ้าคือผู้นั้น”
เหล่าสาวกกลับมาสมทบกับพระเยซู
27ขณะนั้นเองเหล่าสาวกก็กลับมาถึง และพากันประหลาดใจที่พบพระองค์ทรงสนทนาอยู่กับผู้หญิง แต่ไม่มีใครทูลถามว่า “พระองค์ทรงประสงค์สิ่งใด?” หรือ “ทำไมพระองค์ทรงสนทนากับนาง?”28แล้วหญิงนั้นก็ทิ้งหม้อน้ำ กลับเข้าเมือง และบอกกับผู้คนว่า 29“มาเถิด มาดูชายผู้หนึ่งซึ่งบอกทุกสิ่งที่ดิฉันเคยทำ ท่านผู้นี้จะเป็นพระคริสต์ ▼

ได้ไหม?” 30พวกเขาจึงออกจากเมืองมุ่งหน้ามาหาพระองค์ 31ขณะนั้นเหล่าสาวกทูลรบเร้าพระองค์ว่า “รับบี รับประทานอาหารบ้างเถิด”

33เหล่าสาวกจึงพูดกันว่า “มีใครเอาอาหารมาถวายพระองค์แล้วหรือ?”
34พระเยซูตรัสว่า “อาหารของเราคือการทำตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ผู้ทรงส่งเรามา และทำพระราชกิจของพระองค์ให้สำเร็จ 35ท่านพูดไม่ใช่หรือว่าอีกสี่เดือนก็จะถึงฤดูเก็บเกี่ยว? เราบอกท่านว่าจงลืมตาดูท้องนาเถิด! ข้าวสุกพร้อมจะเก็บเกี่ยวแล้ว 36เวลานี้ผู้เกี่ยวก็กำลังรับค่าจ้าง เวลานี้เขากำลังเก็บเกี่ยวพืชผลสำหรับชีวิตนิรันดร์ เพื่อผู้หว่านและผู้เกี่ยวจะยินดีด้วยกัน 37ดังนี้จึงเป็นจริงตามคำกล่าวที่ว่า ‘คนหนึ่งหว่านและอีกคนหนึ่งเกี่ยว’ 38เราส่งพวกท่านไปเก็บเกี่ยวสิ่งที่พวกท่านไม่ได้ลงแรง คนอื่นได้ตรากตรำทำงานหนัก และพวกท่านได้เก็บเกี่ยวผลประโยชน์จากการลงแรงของเขา”

39ชาวสะมาเรียมากมายจากเมืองนั้นเชื่อในพระองค์เพราะคำพยานของหญิงนั้นที่ว่า “พระองค์ทรงบอกทุกสิ่งที่ดิฉันเคยทำ” 40ฉะนั้นเมื่อชาวสะมาเรียมาหาพระองค์ พวกเขาจึงรบเร้าให้พระองค์ประทับอยู่กับพวกเขา พระองค์ก็ทรงอยู่ที่นั่นสองวัน 41และเนื่องด้วยพระดำรัสของพระองค์คนอื่นๆ อีกมากมายได้หันมาเชื่อในพระองค์42พวกเขาบอกหญิงนั้นว่า “ตั้งแต่นี้ไป เราไม่ได้เชื่อเพียงเพราะคำพูดของเจ้า เดี๋ยวนี้เราได้ยินด้วยตัวของเราเอง และเรารู้ว่าพระองค์นี่แหละคือพระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของโลกจริงๆ”

43หลังจากสองวันนั้น พระเยซูเสด็จจากที่นั่นไปยังแคว้นกาลิลี 44(พระองค์เองทรงชี้ให้เห็นว่าผู้เผยพระวจนะไม่ได้รับเกียรติในบ้านเมืองของตนเอง) 45เมื่อพระองค์มาถึงแคว้นกาลิลี ชาวกาลิลีก็ต้อนรับพระองค์ พวกเขาเคยเห็นสิ่งสารพัดที่ทรงกระทำในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเมื่อเทศกาลปัสกาเพราะพวกเขาอยู่ที่นั่นด้วย46พระองค์เสด็จมายังหมู่บ้านคานาในแคว้นกาลิลีอีกครั้งหนึ่ง หมู่บ้านนี้คือที่ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงเปลี่ยนน้ำให้เป็นเหล้าองุ่น และมีข้าราชการคนหนึ่งซึ่งบุตรชายของเขานอนป่วยอยู่ที่เมืองคาเปอรนาอุม 47เมื่อชายผู้นี้ได้ยินว่าพระเยซูเสด็จจากแคว้นยูเดียมาถึงแคว้นกาลิลีแล้ว จึงมาทูลอ้อนวอนพระเยซูให้ไปรักษาลูกชายของเขาซึ่งใกล้จะตายแล้ว
48พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า “ถ้าพวกท่านไม่เห็นหมายสำคัญและปาฏิหาริย์ พวกท่านก็ไม่มีวันเชื่อ”
49ข้าราชการผู้นั้นทูลว่า “ท่านเจ้าข้า โปรดมาก่อนที่บุตรของข้าพเจ้าจะตาย”
50พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า “กลับไปเถิด บุตรของท่านจะรอดชีวิต”
ชายคนนั้นเชื่อคำที่พระเยซูตรัสและลากลับไป 51ขณะที่พวกเขายังอยู่ระหว่างทาง ก็พบกับคนรับใช้ของเขาที่มาบอกข่าวว่าลูกชายของเขารอดชีวิต 52เมื่อเขาถามถึงเวลาที่บุตรชายของเขาอาการดีขึ้น คนเหล่านั้นบอกว่า “เขาหายไข้เมื่อวานนี้ตอนบ่ายโมง”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
