1Ngày mười tháng mười của năm thứ chín đời Sê-đê-kia trị vì, Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, nước Ba-by-lôn, đem quân tấn công Giê-ru-sa-lem. Họ đóng quân chung quanh thành và xây đồn lũy để chống phá tường thành. 2Giê-ru-sa-lem bị bao vây cho đến năm mười một đời Vua Sê-đê-kia trị vì. 3Ngày chín tháng tư của năm thứ mười một đời Sê-đê-kia cai trị, nạn đói trong thành ngày càng trầm trọng, thực phẩm không còn. 4Tường thành bị phá vỡ, tất cả binh lính đều bỏ chạy. Từ khi thành bị quân Ba-by-lôn bao vây, binh lính đều trông chờ đến đêm tối. Họ trốn qua cổng thành giữa hai bức tường phía sau vườn ngự uyển và chạy về hướng A-ra-ba. 5Một số quân Canh-đê đang vây thành đuổi theo và bắt kịp vua Giu-đa tại Đồng bằng Giê-ri-cô. Quân Giu-đa bỏ vua, chạy tán loạn. 6Sê-đê-kia bị bắt giải về Ríp-la để chịu xét xử trước mặt vua Ba-by-lôn. 7Người Ba-by-lôn đem các con Sê-đê-kia ra giết ngay trước mặt vua, rồi móc mắt vua và xiềng vua lại, giải về Ba-by-lôn.Đền Thờ Bị Phá Hủy
8Ngày mồng bảy tháng năm, năm thứ mười chín đời Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, Nê-bu-xa-ra-đan, là tướng chỉ huy quân thị vệ Ba-by-lôn, đến Giê-ru-sa-lem. 9Viên tướng này đốt Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu, cung điện, và các dinh thự ở Giê-ru-sa-lem. 10Rồi ra lệnh cho quân đội phá đổ bức tường thành bao quanh Giê-ru-sa-lem. 11Nê-bu-xa-ra-đan bắt những người còn lại trong thành Giê-ru-sa-lem và những người đào ngũ đã đầu hàng vua Ba-by-lôn trước kia đem đi đày. 12Chỉ một số ít những người nghèo khổ nhất được để lại để trồng nho, làm ruộng. 13Người Canh-đê triệt hạ các trụ đồng trước Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, cái Hồ đựng nước và chân Hồ, lấy đồng đem về Ba-by-lôn. 14Họ lấy nồi, xuổng, kéo cắt tim đèn, muỗng và tất cả những dụng cụ bằng đồng khác trong Đền Thờ, 15kể cả cái đĩa đựng than hồng và bát chén. Những món gì bằng vàng, bằng bạc, đều bị tướng chỉ huy thị vệ là Nê-bu-xa-ra-đan tóm thu cả. 16Không ai tính nổi số đồng họ lấy từ hai cây trụ, cái Hồ và chân Hồ trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu làm từ đời Sa-lô-môn. 17Về chiều cao của trụ, mỗi trụ cao đến 8,1 mét. ▼▼ Nt 18 cubits

Quanh đầu trụ có lưới kết trái lựu đồng. 18Tướng chỉ huy thị vệ Nê-bu-xa-ra-đan bắt Thầy Thượng tế Sê-ra-gia, Phó tế Sê-pha-nia, ba người canh cửa đền thờ, 19một quan chỉ huy quân đội Giu-đa, năm người trong các cận thần của vua, thư ký của tướng chỉ huy quân đội phụ trách chiêu mộ quân lính trong nước, và sáu mươi thường dân tìm thấy trong thành, 20Quan chỉ huy vệ binh Nê-bu-xa-ra-đan giải họ đến cho vua Ba-by-lôn tại Ríp-la, thuộc Ha-mát. 21Vua Ba-by-lôn ra lệnh xử tử tất cả các nhà lãnh đạo Giu-đa ấy tại Ríp-la, xứ Ha-mát. 22Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn bổ nhiệm Ghê-đa-lia, con A-hi-cam, cháu Sa-phan làm tổng đốc cai trị những người còn lại trong nước Giu-đa. 23Nghe tin vua Ba-by-lôn phong Ghê-đa-lia làm tổng đốc, các quan chỉ huy quân đội phản kháng dẫn anh em binh sĩ đến Mích-pa gặp Ghê-đa-lia. Nhóm này gồm có Ích-ma-ên, con Nê-tha-nia, Giô-ha-nan, con Ka-rê-át, Sê-ra-gia, con Tan-hu-mết, ở Nê-tô-pha-tít, và Gia-xa-nia, con Ma-ca-thít. 24Ghê-đa-lia thề với nhóm quan và binh sĩ ấy như sau: “Anh em đừng sợ những viên chức người Canh-đê. Nếu anh em bằng lòng phục vụ vua Ba-by-lôn, anh em sẽ được ở lại trong nước bình an vô sự.” 25Nhưng bảy tháng sau, Ích-ma-ên, con Nê-tha-nia, cháu Ê-li-sa-ma, người thuộc hoàng tộc, dẫn theo mười người đến Mích-pa giết Ghê-đa-lia và tất cả người Canh-đê, cùng với người Do Thái đang ở với Ghê-đa-lia. 26Sau đó, các quan này cùng với những người Giu-đa khác sang Ai Cập tị nạn, vì sợ người Canh-đê.Hy Vọng cho Hoàng Tộc Ít-ra-ên
27Vừa lên ngôi làm vua Ba-by-lôn, Ê-vinh-mê-rô-đác tha Giê-hô-gia-kin, vua Giu-đa ra khỏi ngục. Việc này xảy ra vào ngày hai mươi bảy tháng mười hai, năm thứ ba mươi bảy, tính từ lúc vua Giu-đa bị bắt. 28Vua Ba-by-lôn nói lời hòa nhã với Giê-hô-gia-kin, và cất nhắc người lên hàng cao trọng hơn các vua khác cũng đang bị giam giữ ở Ba-by-lôn với Giê-hô-gia-kin. 29Từ hôm ấy, Giê-hô-gia-kin không còn phải mặc áo tù nữa, nhưng mỗi ngày được ăn uống tại bàn của vua, 30được vua cấp dưỡng thức ăn đầy đủ hằng ngày cho đến khi qua đời.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
