Na-a-man Được Chữa Lành
1Đức Chúa Trời dùng Na-a-man, là tướng chỉ huy quân đội A-ram, để giải cứu dân tộc này. Ông đã lập được nhiều chiến công nên rất được vua quý chuộng. Tuy là một chiến sĩ dũng cảm, nhưng chẳng may Na-a-man lại mắc bệnh phong hủi. 2Vợ Na-a-man có nuôi một bé gái giúp việc người Ít-ra-ên. Cô bé này đã bị quân A-ram bắt trong một cuộc đột kích vào đất Ít-ra-ên. 3Cô nói với bà chủ: “Nếu ông chủ đến gặp vị tiên tri ở Sa-ma-ri, tiên tri sẽ chữa sạch bệnh cho ông liền.” 4Na-a-man đem lời cô nói tâu với vua. 5Vua A-ram bảo: “Thế thì ông nên đi và ta sẽ viết thư cho vua Ít-ra-ên.” Vậy, Na-a-man lên đường, mang theo 340 ký bạc, 68 ký vàng, và mười bộ áo. 6Ông đến trình vua Ít-ra-ên lá thư của vua A-ram, viết như sau: “Người cầm thư này là Na-a-man, cận thần tôi. Xin vua chữa cho người khỏi bệnh phong hủi.” 7Đọc xong thư, vua Ít-ra-ên xé áo, và nói: “Ta có phải Đức Chúa Trời đâu để định việc sống chết? Thế mà vua ấy bảo ta chữa cho người phong hủi này! Đúng là chỉ muốn kiếm cớ để gây hấn.” 8Khi Ê-li-sê, người của Đức Chúa Trời, nghe vua Ít-ra-ên xé áo, liền sai người đến tâu với vua: “Tại sao vua phải xé áo? Bảo người ấy đến gặp tôi, rồi sẽ biết trong Ít-ra-ên có một tiên tri.” 9Vậy Na-a-man đến nhà Ê-li-sê, xe ngựa dừng lại trước cửa. 10Ê-li-sê cho người ra bảo Na-a-man: “Xuống sông Giô-đan tắm bảy lần thì các vết phong hủi sẽ lành.” 11Na-a-man nổi giận bỏ đi, sừng sộ: “Ta nghĩ ông ấy phải ra đón ta, đứng đó kêu cầu Danh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của ông ấy, đưa tay qua lại trên vết phong hủi và chữa cho ta. 12Chẳng lẽ hai con sông A-ba-na và Bạt-ba ở Đa-mách không hơn các sông ở Ít-ra-ên sao? Tắm sông nhà không sạch được hay sao?” Vậy, Na-a-man bỏ đi và tức giận lắm. 13Các đầy tớ đến bên ông, nói: “Nếu tiên tri bảo cha làm việc gì khó khăn to tát, cha còn có thể làm thay, huống hồ ông ấy chỉ bảo: Tắm thì được sạch.” 14Nghe thế, Na-a-man xuống Sông Giô-đan, hụp xuống nước bảy lần, theo lời người của Đức Chúa Trời. Thịt ông trở thành lành lặn, mịn màng như da thịt một em bé, và bệnh phong hủi lành hẳn. 15Na-a-man và đoàn tùy tùng quay lại nhà người của Đức Chúa Trời. Đứng trước mặt tiên tri, Na-a-man nói: “Bây giờ tôi nhận biết rằng trừ Ít-ra-ên, thế gian không có Đức Chúa Trời. Vậy xin tiên tri vui lòng nhận món quà mọn này.” 16Ê-li-sê đáp: “Tôi thề trước Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng tôi phụng sự, tôi không nhận gì cả.” Na-a-man lại năn nỉ, nhưng Ê-li-sê một mực từ khước. 17Cuối cùng, Na-a-man nói: “Thế thì, xin tiên tri cho tôi một ít đất đủ để hai con la chở về. Vì từ nay, tôi sẽ không dâng lễ thiêu hoặc lễ vật gì khác cho một thần nào cả, trừ Chúa Hằng Hữu. 18Tuy nhiên, xin Chúa tha thứ cho tôi điều này: Mỗi khi chủ tôi vào thờ lạy trong miếu thần Rim-môn, vua tựa mình trên tay tôi, và khi vua lạy, tôi phải cúi mình theo. Xin Chúa tha thứ cho điều ấy.” 19Ê-li-sê nói: “Chúc ông về bình an.” Na-a-man lên đường trở về.Lòng Tham của Ghê-ha-si
20Nhưng Ghê-ha-si, đầy tớ của Ê-li-sê, nghĩ thầm: “Thầy ta chẳng nhận món gì của người A-ram này cả. Ta thề với Chúa Hằng Hữu hằng sống ta sẽ chạy theo, bắt người ấy phải biếu quà gì mới phải chứ.” 21Nghĩ xong, Ghê-ha-si đuổi theo Na-a-man. Thấy Ghê-ha-si chạy theo, Na-a-man nhảy xuống xe, quay lại đón, hỏi: “Mọi việc đều bình an chứ?” 22Ghê-ha-si đáp: “Bình an. Thầy tôi bảo tôi nói với ông: Có hai tiên tri từ núi Ép-ra-im mới đến, xin ông cho họ 34 ký bạc và hai bộ áo.” 23Na-a-man năn nỉ: “Xin nhận 68 ký bạc.” Rồi ông lấy số bạc và hai bộ áo để trong hai cái bao, buộc lại, giao cho hai người đầy tớ. Họ quay lại, đi trước Ghê-ha-si. 24Gần đến nơi, Ghê-ha-si lấy hai cái bao và cho hai người kia về, rồi đem bao vào cất trong nhà. 25Khi Ghê-ha-si vào đứng hầu thầy, Ê-li-sê hỏi: “Ghê-ha-si, con vừa đi đâu về?” Ghê-ha-si chối: “Con không đi đâu cả.” 26Nhưng Ê-li-sê nói: “Con không biết khi người ấy xuống xe đón con thì thần ta có ở đó ▼▼ Nt lòng ta ra đi
sao? Bây giờ có phải lúc nhận tiền bạc, áo quần, vườn ô-liu, vườn nho, chiên, bò, và đầy tớ hay sao? 27Bệnh phong của Na-a-man sẽ dính vào mình con và dòng dõi con mãi mãi.” Vừa khi rời khỏi Ê-li-sê, Ghê-ha-si mắc bệnh phong hủi, trắng như tuyết.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
