Áp-sa-lôm Mưu Phản
1Sau đó, Áp-sa-lôm sắm một cỗ xe ngựa; có năm mươi người chạy trước xe. 2Áp-sa-lôm cũng thường dậy sớm, đi ra đứng bên cổng thành, đợi có ai đi kiện, xin vua xét xử, thì gọi đến hỏi: “Ông từ đâu đến?” Khi người kia đáp: “Từ thành nọ, đại tộc kia,” 3Áp-sa-lôm liền nói: “Trong việc này, tôi xét thấy ông hoàn toàn phải. Nhưng tiếc thay, người của vua đâu có nghe ông.” 4Áp-sa-lôm tiếp: “Nếu tôi làm phán quan, ai có vụ thưa kiện gì đến với tôi, tôi sẽ công minh xét xử cho người ấy!” 5Và, hễ có người nào cung kính vái chào Áp-sa-lôm, ông liền dang tay ôm lấy người ấy mà hôn. 6Hành động như thế, Áp-sa-lôm lấy lòng được nhiều người Ít-ra-ên. 7Bốn năm sau, một hôm Áp-sa-lôm thưa với vua: “Xin cho phép con đi Hếp-rôn dâng lễ vật thề nguyện lên Chúa Hằng Hữu. 8Vì lúc còn ở Ghê-sua thuộc xứ A-ram, con có khấn nguyện: ‘Nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu đem con về Giê-ru-sa-lem, con sẽ dâng lễ vật lên Ngài.’” 9Vua nói: “Chúc con đi bình an.” Vậy, Áp-sa-lôm đi Hếp-rôn. 10Tại đây, ông bí mật sai người đi khắp các đại tộc Ít-ra-ên xúi giục dân nổi loạn và căn dặn: “Khi nghe tiếng kèn thổi, anh em sẽ la lên: ‘Áp-sa-lôm làm vua ở Hếp-rôn.’” 11Khi rời Giê-ru-sa-lem, Áp-sa-lôm có mời 200 quan khách cùng đi với mình, nhưng họ không biết gì về mưu phản của ông. 12Lúc dâng lễ, Áp-sa-lôm cho mời cả A-hi-tô-phe người Ghi-lô, là một cố vấn của Đa-vít, về với mình. 13Có người đến báo cho Đa-vít: “Lòng dân ngả qua ủng hộ Áp-sa-lôm.” 14Đa-vít bảo quần thần đang ở với mình tại Giê-ru-sa-lem: “Chúng ta phải chạy ngay; nếu đợi Áp-sa-lôm đến, cả chúng ta và dân trong thành đều bị tàn sát.” 15Quần thần thưa: “Bất kỳ điều gì vua quyết định, chúng tôi xin thi hành.” 16Vậy, vua và toàn thể hoàng gia vội vàng ra đi, chỉ có mười cung phi ở lại để giữ cung. 17Vua đi trước, mọi người theo sau. Ra đến cuối thành, 18vua dừng lại cho mọi người đi trước. Có tất cả 600 người từ đất Gát theo Đa-vít cùng tất cả thị vệ của vua. 19Vua bảo Y-tai người Ghi-tít: “Ông theo chúng tôi làm gì? Tôi nghĩ ông nên quay lại với vua mới, vì ông là người ngoại quốc bỏ quê hương. 20Ông vừa đến với chúng tôi hôm qua, hôm nay tôi không muốn ông theo chúng tôi lang thang chưa biết về đâu. Ông nên dẫn anh em người Ghi-tít quay về đi thôi. Cầu cho ông giữ được lòng nhân ái và trung thực.” 21Nhưng Y-tai đáp: “Tôi thề trước Đức Chúa Trời và trên mạng sống vua, vua đi đâu tôi theo đó, dù chết hay sống cũng không màng.” 22Vua nói: “Đã thế thì đi!” Vậy Y-tai cùng toán quân mình với con cái đều đi lên trước. 23Thấy vua và mọi người đi qua, ai cũng phải mủi lòng rơi lệ. Đoàn người băng suối Kít-rôn tiến về phía hoang mạc. 24Có A-bia-tha, Xa-đốc và người Lê-vi đem Hòm Giao Ước của Đức Chúa Trời đi nữa. Họ đặt Hòm xuống, chờ cho đoàn người đi qua trước. 25Nhưng vua nói với Xa-đốc: “Ông hãy đem Hòm của Đức Chúa Trời trở vào thành. Nếu tôi được Chúa Hằng Hữu đoái hoài, Ngài sẽ cho tôi về để thấy Hòm và Đền Tạm Ngài ngự. 26Nhưng nếu Chúa không ưa thích tôi nữa, xin Ngài làm cho tôi điều Ngài muốn.” 27Vua thì thầm với Thầy Tế lễ Xa-đốc: “Chắc ông hiểu ý tôi: Ông và A-bia-tha trở về thành với A-hi-mát con ông và Giô-na-than con A-bia-tha. 28Tôi sẽ chờ tin ông bên sông nơi nước cạn.” 29Vậy Xa-đốc và A-bia-tha đem Hòm của Đức Chúa Trời về Giê-ru-sa-lem rồi ở lại đó. 30Đa-vít lên Núi Ô-liu, đi chân không, trùm đầu lại, vừa đi vừa khóc. Những người khác cũng khóc lóc, trùm đầu. 31Khi nghe tin A-hi-tô-phe theo Áp-sa-lôm, Đa-vít cầu: “Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu xin làm cho lời khuyên của A-hi-tô-phe ra ngớ ngẩn.” 32Lên đến đỉnh núi, nơi người ta thờ phụng Đức Chúa Trời, Đa-vít thấy Hu-sai người Ạt-kít đầu phủ bụi đất, áo xé rách, đến tìm mình. 33Đa-vít rỉ tai Hu-sai: “Đi với tôi, ông chỉ thêm gánh nặng cho tôi; 34nhưng nếu ông trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem, nói với Áp-sa-lôm: ‘Tôi xin cố vấn vua như đã cố vấn cha vua,’ ông sẽ vì tôi phá hỏng mưu kế của A-hi-tô-phe. 35Bên ông còn có hai Thầy Tế lễ Xa-đốc và A-bia-tha. Nếu ông biết được tin gì trong cung vua, cứ cho họ hay. 36Họ sẽ sai con là A-hi-mát (con Xa-đốc) và Giô-na-than (con A-bia-tha) đi báo tin cho tôi.” 37Vậy Hu-sai, là bạn của Đa-vít, về đến Giê-ru-sa-lem đúng ngay lúc Áp-sa-lôm vào thành.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
