1“Phải thận trọng! Đừng phô trương các việc từ thiện của mình, vì như thế các con sẽ mất phần thưởng của Cha các con trên trời. 2Khi các con bố thí, đừng khua chiêng gióng trống cho người ta chú ý ca ngợi như bọn đạo đức giả từng làm trong hội đường và ngoài phố chợ. Ta quả quyết bọn ấy không còn được khen thưởng gì đâu. 3Nhưng khi tay phải các con cứu tế, đừng để tay trái biết. 4Nên giữ cho kín đáo và Cha các con là Đấng biết mọi việc kín đáo sẽ thưởng cho các con.”Dạy về Cầu Nguyện và Kiêng Ăn
5“Khi các con cầu nguyện, đừng bắt chước bọn đạo đức giả đứng cầu nguyện giữa phố chợ và trong hội đường cốt cho mọi người trông thấy. Ta cho các con biết, bọn đó không còn được thưởng gì đâu. 6Nhưng khi các con cầu nguyện, nên vào phòng riêng đóng cửa lại, kín đáo cầu nguyện với Cha trên trời, Cha các con biết hết mọi việc kín đáo sẽ thưởng cho các con. 7Khi cầu nguyện, các con đừng lảm nhảm nhiều lời như người ngoại đạo, vì họ tưởng phải lặp lại lời cầu nguyện mới linh nghiệm. 8Đừng bắt chước họ, vì Cha các con biết rõ nguyện vọng các con trước khi các con cầu xin! 9Vậy, các con nên cầu nguyện như sau: Lạy Cha chúng con trên trời,Danh Cha được tôn thánh.
10 Xin Nước Cha sớm đến,
Ý muốn Cha thực hiện dưới đất
như đã từng thực hiện trên trời.
11Xin cho chúng con đủ ăn hằng ngày,
12 xin tha thứ hết lỗi lầm chúng con,
như chúng con tha lỗi cho người nghịch cùng chúng con.
13 Xin đừng đưa chúng con vào vòng cám dỗ,
nhưng giải cứu chúng con khỏi điều gian ác.
14Cha các con trên trời sẽ tha lỗi các con nếu các con tha lỗi cho người khác, 15Nhưng nếu các con không tha thứ, Ngài cũng sẽ không tha thứ các con. 16Khi kiêng ăn, các con đừng đóng kịch như bọn đạo đức giả để mặt mày hốc hác tiều tụy. Ta cho các con biết, bọn ấy không còn được thưởng gì đâu. 17Nhưng khi các con kiêng ăn, phải rửa mặt, chải đầu. 18Như thế, ngoài Cha trên trời, không ai biết các con đang đói. Cha các con là Đấng biết hết mọi việc kín đáo sẽ thưởng cho các con.”

19“Đừng tích trữ của cải dưới đất, là nơi có mối mọt, ten rỉ dễ bị hư hỏng, hủy hoại, và trộm đào gạch, khoét vách mà lấy. 20Hãy tích trữ của cải trên trời, là nơi không có mối mọt, ten rỉ chẳng bị hư hỏng, hủy hoại hay trộm cắp bao giờ. 21Vì của cải các con để đâu, lòng các con sẽ bị thu hút vào đó. 22Mắt là ngọn đèn của thân thể. Nếu mắt các con sáng suốt, cả con người mới trong sạch. 23Nhưng nếu mắt bị quáng lòa, cả thân thể sẽ tối tăm, và cảnh tối tăm này thật là khủng khiếp! 24Các con không thể làm tôi hai chủ, vì sẽ ghét chủ này yêu chủ kia, trọng chủ này khinh chủ khác. Các con không thể phụng sự cả Đức Chúa Trời lẫn tiền tài. 25Ta khuyên các con đừng lo âu vì vấn đề cơm áo. Đời sống không quý hơn thức ăn, thức uống sao? Thân thể không trọng hơn quần áo sao? 26Hãy xem loài chim. Chúng chẳng gieo, gặt, cũng chẳng tích trữ vào kho, nhưng Cha các con trên trời vẫn nuôi chúng. Các con không có giá trị hơn loài chim sao? 27Trong các con có ai lo âu mà kéo dài đời mình thêm được một giờ không? 28Sao các con lo âu về quần áo? Hãy xem hoa huệ ngoài đồng, chúng chẳng làm việc nặng nhọc, cũng chẳng xe tơ kéo chỉ. 29Thế mà giàu có sang trọng như Vua Sa-lô-môn cũng không được mặc áo đẹp bằng hoa huệ. 30Cỏ hoa ngoài đồng là loài sớm nở tối tàn mà Đức Chúa Trời còn cho mặc đẹp như thế, lẽ nào Ngài không cung cấp y phục cho các con đầy đủ hơn sao? Tại sao các con thiếu đức tin đến thế? 31Vậy các con đừng lo âu về điều này, và tự hỏi: ‘Chúng ta sẽ ăn gì? Chúng ta sẽ uống gì? Chúng ta sẽ mặc gì?’ 32Vì những điều này là điều người ngoại đạo vẫn lo tìm kiếm, nhưng Cha các con trên trời thừa biết nhu cầu của các con. 33Nhưng trước hết các con phải tìm kiếm nước của Đức Chúa Trời và sống công chính, Ngài sẽ cung cấp đầy đủ mọi nhu cầu cho các con. 34Vì thế, các con đừng lo âu về tương lai. Ngày mai sẽ lo việc ngày mai. Nỗi khó nhọc từng ngày cũng đã đủ rồi.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
